Totally...LOL.Lenny Kravitz?
You would if he was suddenly in a Pats uniform!
Yeah, he does come off as a douche most of the time, maybe he just needs a change of scenery.
Seattle is not trading Wilson, it would be a $39 million dollar cap hit, all of which would be dead money!
Right now he has a $32 million dollar cap hit, and he is still owed (after this year) another $26 million in signing bonus money. So trading him would be crippling to the team both on the field, but also finanically.
Wilson is 33 now, Seattle has him under contract until 2024, his 2021 $19 million base salary became fully guarenteed on 2/12/2021 (funny how Wilson's unhappyness only started to come out AFTER that date). He is still getting paid big time money over the life of his contract.
So Wilson will be 36 when this current contract expires. He can whine all he wants, he is not going anywhere.
Wilson is a diva and he should be holding himself accountable. Every QB now (Wilson, Watson) thinks they can dictate how the ship are going to be managed? Brady shut his mouth up for 20 years and did not demand ****.Wilson is in the same tier as Mahomes and Rodgers. In fact, Wilson has played well in 2 super bowls, which is more than what Mahomes did.
A post June trade gives him a CAP hit of $32M with $13M dead money/ $19M savings
I believe that would make 2022 $26M dead vs $24M savings. Then a savings of $27M in 2023.
How many 1st rounders will tell how crippling because they aren't real contenders now.
Year | Age | Base Salary | Prorated bonus | Roster bonus | Guaranteed Salary | Cap # | Cap % | Dead money | Cap savings |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
2021 | 33 | $19,000,000 | $13,000,000 | $0 | $19,000,000 | $32,000,000 | 17.7% | $13,000,000 | $19,000,000 |
2022 | 34 | $19,000,000 | $13,000,000 | $5,000,000 | $0 | $37,000,000 | 16.3% | $13,000,000 | $24,000,000 |
2023 | 35 | $22,000,000 | $13,000,000 | $5,000,000 | $0 | $40,000,000 | 16.6% | $13,000,000 | $27,000,000 |
According to overthecap.com, trading him with a post-June1 designation would result in 3 years of dead money at $13 Million per year:
Year Age Base Salary Prorated bonus Roster bonus Guaranteed Salary Cap # Cap % Dead money Cap savings 2021 33 $19,000,000 $13,000,000 $0 $19,000,000 $32,000,000 17.7% $13,000,000 $19,000,000 2022 34 $19,000,000 $13,000,000 $5,000,000 $0 $37,000,000 16.3% $13,000,000 $24,000,000 2023 35 $22,000,000 $13,000,000 $5,000,000 $0 $40,000,000 16.6% $13,000,000 $27,000,000
So a team trading for him would be on the hook for $19 Million in 2021, $24 Million in 2022 & $27 Million in 2023. Not too bad if he can deliver.

I thought the future years go into the next year. However, you may be correct.
I don't understand Wilson's list - Cowboys, Bears, Vegas? Doesn't he realize those orgs are much worse than Seattle?
Nepotism Sucks.Report: Russell Wilson thinks Pete Carroll and his sons answer to no one
Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson hasn't only played for head coach Pete Carroll for his entire career.profootballtalk.nbcsports.com
Nepotism Sucks.
His agent says that there are 4 teams he'd go to, Dallas, NO, LV and Chicago. Nobody of sound mind would want to be a jete.He wants a stronger supporting cast and the Jets are included as an option?
They still do have the worst winning % in NYFL history and even Brady can't change that.Do you realize that Tampa had the worst winning percentage of any team in NFL history prior to Brady coming? They were called the Suckaneers for a reason.
Where did the NYJ come from? I saw Dallas, NO (a great choice), LV and Chicago. We all gonna ignore that this is the second high profile QB who allegedly has Jets on his list but not the Pats?
