It's just unbelievable. Imo this ended the seemingly endless silly discussions of GOAT, BOAT, LOAT and all of the offsprings such as "if BB had Rodgers instead of Brady" BS.

New team, new system, Covid, running through the playoffs beating the 1st, 2nd and 4th seeded teams on the road and beating the AFCs 1 seed and the previous year's champion.

It's just ridiculous. Did they check the balls?

Brady just took a team that had been 7-9 the year before and beat 3 MVPs in the playoffs, while being the underdog for each game, and beating a team that had gone 31-6 in their last 2 seasons (including a win in the previous Super Bowl), but we're still getting claims along the lines of "a lot of QBs could do that".

Brady left the Patriots having thrown a TD to 77 different receivers. This year he threw a TD to: Evans, Godwin, Miller, Johnson, Howard, Brate, Vaughn, Jones, and Fournette (Gronk & AB were already on the list). So, he's up to 86 different receivers.

Closest is Vinny Testa-de-verde with 70 different receivers. Another record that will never be broken.

He tried desperately to add Joe Haeg and Tanner Hudson to that list.

How many can you get?

Edit: no way...this even lets you play embedded into the message. So cool.

AG would be working at a health spa or in jail for fraud if it wasn't for Tom

Brady is really attached to the guy. Geez. I don’t know AG but he shouldn’t be involved in anything. Is 2013 the time he met this guy?

Brady is supposed to have influenced bringing in Gronk, AB, and Fournette to the Bucs.

Here's their combined postseason contribution:

Rushing yds: 319 of 490 (65%)
Rushing TD (incl. TFB): 4 of 4 (100%)
Receiving Yds: 339 of 1061 (32%)
Receiving TD: 5 of 10 (50%)
TD Leaders:
Fournette (4)
Gronk (2)
Evans (2)
AB (2)

Maybe Brady has an eye for talent.

Someone will overpay for this guy and it will be a huge mistake. He wasn’t much of a pass rusher before going to tampa but you always have a sucker out there.
This has the potential to be a very interesting offseason, and one which is a disappointment for guys like Barrett. For example, guys like JJ Watt might spring free ($17.5m salary, $0 cap hit if cut/traded) because of the drop in the cap, and that could flood the market at various positions.

Brady needed knee surgery. Wow.

Fack Rodney for making a clownish skirt joke about this guy so the Patriots haters can arf and clap.

Fournette said Bucs quarterback Tom Brady wasted little time recruiting him to Tampa Bay, and that he found an invaluable brotherhood once he arrived.

“The first guy that hit me when it happened was Tom [Brady],” Fournette said. “I’ve [known] Tom and Tom hit me like, ‘Man, I would love for you to come help us out.’

Leonard Fournette knows he made the right call signing with Bucs

If I recall correctly, it was Willie Mac who introduced Tom to AG during the 04 offseason. I think I read that in the Globe hit piece

If you bring in Watt, you can play a 3-4 with Suh-Vea-Watt with JPP as an OLB and it would be the best defensive front in football. Watt is also great against the run...and he can be a 4-3 DE as well as anyone with Watt-Vea-Suh-JPP.

I’d gladly see them pay $20M for him instead of $17M for a sack specialist.

"They've only beaten one good team" was the phrase, along with its variants, that was being tossed around come playoff time.
That's all the anti Bradyites clinged to in this thread

Barber mentioned they usually like to ground and pound but in the Fournette TD they pulled the guard to down block. I think Leftwich deserves credit for his play calling.

I don't have the game on DVR so I can't pull that play up to see. All I can remember is Marpet pulling for the kick out block and Fournette just waltzed in for the TD. Don't really remember anything special about that play.

What's poor is your attempt to steer the argument by taking up absurd positions. Stop. You're making a fool out of yourself. But let me play, just a little tiny bit, in the sandbox you're trying to build.

Patriots with Brady (2019): 12-4 and a playoff appearance
Patriots without Brady (2020): 7-9 and missed the playoffs

Bucs without Brady (2019): - 7-9 and missed the playoffs
Bucs with Brady (2020): 11-5 and SB champs

Patriots Belichick without Brady (2000): 5-11
Patriots Belichick with Brady (2001): 11-5 and SB champs

Patriots Belichick with Brady (2007): 16-0 and a SB appearance
Patriots Belichick without Brady (2008): 11-5 and missed the playoffs

It's not just a one year sample, and that's even when you ignore BB's tenure in Cleveland.

Yo chill the **** out with the facts

I'm not in the Brady vs BB stuff but one thing this win did was separate Brady's legacy from BB's. It's his own legacy now which is incredibly rare.

Most great QB legacies are tied to a great coach. Peyton Manning may have won with another team, which is a great accomplishment, but he was also carried by the defense, benched during the season and gifted a ring in the end. Brady was vintage Brady.
