OT: Official 2020 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

You know, we should have all seen it coming. The season had like a decade worth of those “Tom isn’t come back from this...not with this team...not this year moments.”
  • Opener at New Orleans is a flop and the team is taken out with the garbage.
  • The fourth down embarrassment in Chicago.
  • The media stirring the pot between Brady and Arians.
  • The humiliating loss to New Orleans, 38-3 and team left for dead.
  • The “changing of the guard” game against Mahomes (below)

All of these events was like a supercharged “FU for not believing in is“ tour in January. It’s like rolling into one season the 41-14 KC game, a “u mad, bro” text, Deflategate, a Seth Wickersham takedown. and the Miami miracle.

Brady just took a team that had been 7-9 the year before and beat 3 MVPs in the playoffs, while being the underdog for each game, and beating a team that had gone 31-6 in their last 2 seasons (including a win in the previous Super Bowl), but we're still getting claims along the lines of "a lot of QBs could do that".

Sorry. I missed this post but spot on.

Well those claims are bogus since this is the very 1st time a team beats 3 MVP QBs in the playoffs. Therefore, only 1 QB, Brady, has ever done it.

When did Drew Brees or Taylor Heineke win the MVP? In actuality Brady beat 3 SB MVP QBs

Just more along the lines of “the hindsight of victory changes things”...

...suppose Brady had matched Brees for crappiness against the Saints and the Saints had won. Now there never was ”an elite Tampa Bay defense” or “a super team.”

That’s the thing...Brady, and really all champions including someone like LeBron...it’s always that “he’ll fail because he isn’t good enough” followed by “that opponent was a pretender and anyone could have won with that team.”

I'm confused here, @ChrisR2223

You just went through a very long explanation about how Brady is on steroids (then refused to back down), citing how his performance never declines and that he has continued to get better with age. So, which is it?

NFL.com in it's final QB ranking has Brady at #2 behind Rodgers and ahead of Mahomes at 3rd.

On the full season he had 5695 yards which is 1st in the league and 50 TD which is good for 2nd.

SB winner plus stacking the stats. What a great combination.

PFF also had Brady at #2 behind Rodgers and ahead of Watson, Mahomes and Allen and 4th best player overall.

Don't forget, his wife took HGH not Manning!
And don't forget that the seller recanted the undercover video evidence and it had nothing to do with the goons that were sent to his home to threaten him.
And forget that Manning sexually molested that female trainer.
And that he laughed about her with pops in a book. Just boys being boys.

I don't listen/watch any national sports media (honest) so I don't know what they are saying. In the 2000s I think NEP fans did give Bill a lot of credit for Tom but that has dissipated. Why I'm not sure. Tom's success? Pissed off at Bill? Those discussions were taking place but now they are out control.

Pertaining to the other coaches, I think thats old news. I also think society is more focused on individual achievement than team achievement.

Bill v Brady is what's breaking the internet and being talked about because it fuels argument and discussion.
The Bill v Brady furor is very similar to Bill v Bernie and the Browns. The differences are that Bernie was a local guy but didn't win 6 titles. Browns fans still hate Bill with a passion.
