Time for a New Offensive Coordinator

As much as I would like to blame the offense's woes on McDaniels, I missed the part where he picks the groceries.

Having said that, picking a receiver and running back in the first round sure was a departure and very un-Belichikean.
My take is this was a last ditch over-reach to wring one more SB out of the Brady Era (Brown, Sanu, Michele, Harry and cap hell).
It didn't work out, but it was worth a shot, and the fallout was this and future rebuilding years.
Trying to "wring" another SB from Brady (whatever that means) has Nothing Whatsoever to do with drafting players at positions where there are OBVIOUSLY BETTER PLAYERS at those SAME positions still available.

I see. The John Carroll boys get zero credit for Welker, Amendola, Meyers and every other successful player to wear a Patriot uniform and win Super Bowls and all the blame for those who don't quite work out.

Got it.
Neither The Receiver, Danny Playoffs nor Meyers were the 32nd-overall pick in the Entire Damn Draft.

The best part of all those bozos who call for McDaniel's head is that he will be OC for the foreseeable future -- until he gets a HC gig -- and no amount of whining and *****ing will change that.

On a more serious note I really don't understand what people want except "lol wins".

Over the years McDaniels has used and set up an offense that has dominated for over a decade exploiting matchups, using misdirection, various creative personnel groupings and had it running like smooth machine.

This year on short notice -- after Cam signed at the end of June -- they incorporated RPOs, zone/power reds, QB sweeps, QB draws and whatnot into that offense while at the same time simplifying it for that QB so he could learn as things went along. Newton had blatant issues with the passing aspect of the offense but the entire added dimensions worked for the most part really well as the numbers of our rushing offense and the relative success in short yardage situation shows.

But since many are essentially just outcome obsessed all of this means nothing I suppose.
Skippy ain't getting no HC gigs anywhere no more.

I don't want to get political. But I would not want that kid on this team. Same reason I would not want Tyreke Hill. Content of character. Sure, Brady is "friends" with Trump. But he is a terrible judge of character. Look at his relationship with Guerrero. I can live with it. Nobody is perfect. There is a difference between that and just being an awful person.
Help me out
What sin did Heinicke commit that he should be immediately disqualified from employment as a PATRIOT?

Yep, if what he did to the Colts was not the final straw, his coaching this year was. Totally unprofessional and a terrible business move on his end.

Does Philly come to him to “fix” Wentz?

I think Laurie basically said to Peterson, “we have x amount already invested in Wentz, I need you to fix him” and I think Laurie didn’t like the answer he got. The Igles are in Cap hell and it will be impossible to get out from under that Wentz contract.

Eagles may not get a coach to bite on that job from their top shelf they may come knocking on McDaniels door.
Or what about trading Belichick for 2 second round picks to the Eagles where he could face off against Joe Judge.
Never happen but would boost ratings for sure.

I wouldn't be sad if JMD left, but we'd need someone of true experience and value to take his place. Not Amanda Belichick or something.
And I never want BOB anywhere near this team again. Bill's biggest mistake was letting Daboll go.
A surprise would be Pederson - if he's willing to step back to OC for a couple years. Also, Gase as a OC, under BB could potentially work, he's just a disaster HC, but not offensive coach.

The offense is more challenging to learn then other teams from a QB, WR and TE perspective which of course causes some players to fail where they might succeeded on other teams. You need to buy in 100% and dedicate yourself more so then other teams to be successful.

Then its time to change our offense

I would almost rather have Amanda - almost - before Googly...

Melonhead Dougie, OTOH, is an interesting possibility...though I wouldn't be shocked to see him named as the next HC of the NYJ...

Yeah wish Brian Daboll was offensive coordinator instead. Too late. But Chad O'Shea would be available, it would be a promotion for him to coordinator.

Really bad news for us if we're stuck with McDaniels.

Daboll is getting one of the jobs
For sure

I hear you. Well deserved if Daboll becomes a head coach. Tremendous job in Buffalo. Daboll and EricB are likely the 2 top candidates in the market right now.

Who says Amanda even wants to leave Holy Cross? She is in her 6th season, why take a downgrade from Head Coach to coordinator?

Josh has and apparently never will learn that giving your backs 15-20 carries a game each will not result in a firing squad.

He's addicted to WR passing and ignoring tight ends in the passing game or RB rushing. Granted it's better than 15 years ago. Problem is he gets too stuck in a box. Before we were bailed out by a HOF quarterback and HOF tight end and a clutch slot receiver. Now we have no talent and an OC who has never developed talent either.

Not sure if it's Daboll's time yet, unless the Billdos make the SB...Then it will be...

It's definitely Sleeping with Bienemy's time however...Most of the 6 teams with openings are waiting to see where he goes before commencing with Plan B from outer space...
