Adam Gase is Out

Au contraire! Go read BB gushing about Gase leading up to Jets game. Gase was actually a pretty formidable OC... could see him as a decent option to replace Josh if he leaves.

I know, not what folks want to hear on here, but who is a better option in-house? Would probably rather Billy OB
Bb gushes about EVERY weekly opponent.
can you not remember all the 3D rate qbs he made out to be Hof-er’s.

Hire the beast. He’s won more games without Brady than Belichick has the last two years. These are FACTS.

Ok, maybe I was a bit too aggressive, maybe BB could leverage his skills at designing plays etc, but I think he'd have strong concerns on the stability and leadership side so I still think it'd be a pass.

Gase is similar to McDaniels in that both are nothing without Peyton Manning (Gase in Denver) or Tom Brady. Each have not only done nothing in multiple spots without Manning/Brady but been league-worst. With Gase he has failed multiple times and with McD he went 5-17 in Denver before being fired but not before trading up for Tim Tebow in the first round, going 2-14 in St Louis with the 32nd ranked worst offense in the league which averaged 12 points per game, and this year with the 27th ranked offense in the league. Can't blame it on Cam as last year the same offense with Brady only averaged 17.6 points per game since October 2019 to end of that season.

I honestly dont equate success as a HC to offensive/defensive playcalling ability. Yes there are some basics in coaching that carry over, but if you have BB and a well-oiled "system" already in place, you don't need Gase to be a leader....which he clearly sucks at. He could, however, call a game for offense.

True. But even for McDaniels you see 2011 St Louis and 2020 Patriots, these are OC jobs and he was horribly exposed without Tom Brady.

Thank you. Gase is not good.

Worst coach in nfl history

I’m nervous that he’s on his way here.

Gase as QB coach or even OC if McDaniels bolts isn't a bad thing. Gase as a head coach is a disaster.

Some guys ceilings are at the coordinator level. Gase seems like one of those guys. If the Pats brought Gase in as a QB coach, I wouldn't mind it.

Considering what McDaniels had to work with this year, I will give him a passing grade. No QB. No TE. No WRs. The Patriots' offense may have had the worst skill position players and QB in the league. I was kinda impressed that McDaniels made this chicken s**t look like chicken salad for at least a small part of the season.

17.6 points per game last year with Brady since Oct 2019 till end of that season. The chickensh-t line keeps getting repeated, makes me think it's a pathetic PR phrase being repeated over and over.
McDaniels created his own bed. He hasn't developed any players over 8 years and been part of some horrific drafts or trades (Sanu). We need a new offensive coordinator, someone who didn't think that trading up to take Tim Tebow in the first round was a good idea.

Last year there wasn't talent on the offense either. Who were the WRs other than Edelman who was injured down the stretch? Who were the TEs? The offensive line was down several players most of the year too. Brady played like he didn't want to be here most of the season.

And you cannot blame McDaniels for the drafts and the trades. Besides, rumor is that Sanu was to appease Brady, not McDaniels.

@KontradictioN i heard Dan Mullen is going to be the next jet head coach
Adios, then. He completely wet his pants in the SEC Championship and his ability to get 5 star recruits has not panned out. I’d love for him to stay, but won’t panic if he leaves.

Anyone is better than this guy. Other than being Peyton Manning’s caddy he has sucked everywhere he has been.

Thing that concerns me is he’s only been successful with Manning. Tannehill improved after getting away from him and Darnold has pretty much been a disaster.

Mullen still has three years left on a $6 million a year contract. I am not sure he will be so quick to go to the Jets. He isn't going to be making that much more for the Jets and their ownership is awful. And I am not sure if they are going to fire Joe Douglas either.

Worst coach in nfl history
A true connoisseur of Jets head coaches might not be so quick to pick the "worst" - too many to chose from. Just a sample: Herm Edwards, Bruce Coslet, Todd Bowles, Lou Holtz, and the immortal Rich Kotite.

I don't judge him as a position coach or coordinator for what he did in Miami. Tannehill sucked before Gase too. He didn't get good until he left Miami and went to Tennessee.

The Bears improved significantly the one year he was there in 2015 (the year before he went to the Dolphins) and then collapsed the following year. Who knows how much of their collapse in 2016 was due to his departure.

He has only been an offensive coordinator at two places and it is hard to say how he was as a position coach without actually look that those position groups in that year.
