This, especially if they look at riding out the string with Brady for 2-3 years and then doing a complete rebuild. Also, I'd like to see Brady with a full training camp and a healthy Evans and Godwin.
No need for a rebuild if Brady plays to the 2021 season. Tampa can keep the party going for a couple more years by possibly getting Rodgers in 2022. The Packers moved up to get Jordan Love. Love will sit for 3 years and then they'll want him to start, just like Rodgers sat for 3 years behind Favre. In 2022 Rodgers has a minimal cap hit and will be 40.

Congratulations all!!!!!!!!!!!

This is now the all-time longest thread in the history of PatsFans.com, surpassing the infamous Malcolm Butler Mega Thread of 2018!

Way to go! - Each and every one of you should be very proud of your determination, contribution and perseverance.

Carry on.

And it’s just getting started...

The latest iteration of a Brady vs Belichick thread - a spinoff of this debate - could possibly end up at number two, if it doesn't self destruct before reaching that destination.

Yet Brady got robbed of a pro bowl to Murray who just choked in a must win game. Murray is like the 10th best QB this year. It's all good though as it adds to Brady's growing list of grievances that motivates him in the playoff.

I'll concede on Rodgers and Mahomes. I think however that Brady, Wilson, and Allen are interchangeable in the 3-5 rankings. I'll give the number 3 ranking to whoever has the best week 17 game.

I realize the pro bowl is fairly meaningless but wanted to see Brady get #15 to set the record. He really got hosed since only 3 QBs made it and no alternates, and I don’t understand the Murray hype.

But here’s what annoys me...so there is no actual game this year which is why no alternates. If that’s the case, why do you rush the voting like it’s a normal year and decide on the rosters around Week 13, rather than having a final vote after the regular season has concluded? No preparations are needed this year and it’s unusual circumstances...absolutely stupid that voting for a season honor ended before the season ended though there was no actual deadline needed.

Rodgers is actually maniacal about taking care of himself. I have no idea how much he loves football, but if he wants to keep playing, I have confidence he can do it at least as long as Favre.

Looks like the Bucs will get a favorable matchup with Washington for round 1 of the playoffs. I assume they will be the lowest seed after Wildcard Weekend so they will play the Packers in round 2. Since the Pats are out, it's easy to root for Tom now. Go get #7!

I think Washington is the worst matchup. Despite no QB, that pass rush is scary. Dallas is likely the best matchup for the Bucs.

I forgot the Cowboys have a chance to win the division....but you know how that will turn out.

Yeah. I think this thread will be treading on this forum for some time now.

This article didn't age so well:

"The football cognoscenti is in denial about the diminished agility and arm strength over the past two calendar years."
I listen to the Around the NFL podcast with the NFL.com writers and they are all pretty clueless. Each one of them really only has an in depth knowledge of their own favorite team and then skim the surface on the other 31 franchises. Even Gregg Rosenthal who is a Patriots fan generally doesn't seem to know much about the Patriots.

“Prior to major shoulder and foot injuries over the last two years, Newton's playing style was reliant upon a rocket arm in a see-it, throw-it aerial attack and his own physicality in the short-yardage ground game. It will be interesting to see how that style changes as he makes concessions to age, injury risk and a new coaching staff. It's worth noting that he was already succeeding with shorter, more accurate passes before his arm abandoned him late in the 2018 season”

Wasn’t too far off with that last part if you apply it to today. Pats got a broken down QB which is probably the best they could get for the price they paid.

The downside in getting the favorable 5th seeding is that it has become a must win game for the Buc coaches and Brady. Anything less than a win and all the detractors will be out with their knives. And there are legions of them including some Pat's fans.

It’s not that favorable of a matchup if it’s Football Team. That defensive front can do to Brady what the Giants did.

Should win though. I think the Bucs defense can handle Alex Smith.

Mahomes hasn't been quite as dynamic this year compared to the last 2 years. In the playoffs against better d, those near interception will turn into actual interceptions. I can see a KC upset loss in their 1st playoff game.
Nothing - and I mean Absolutely NOTHING - would make me happier.

No need to take a peek at that thread for us folks who come to this thread a lot as we've already had that debate.

Don't the Vagiants win the division if they beat Dallas & Philthy beats Washington? If true, then I think we all know what's going to happen...

That is why I haven't paid much if any attention to the national writers/talking heads for years. It is simply not possible to be an expert on 32 teams.

The local beat writers are much better sources, but you have to get your info from more than one of them. Too many are either over the top homers or over the top negative contrarians. Fortunately both types are easy to spot.

As for those that do the games on tv, there are some that do there homework and take there job seriously, and others that take the easy way out. For every Tony Romo there are three Dan Fouts.

Sorry Bucs fans.

? Dallas @ NY Giants; Joe Buck, Troy Aikman
? Atlanta @ Tampa Bay; Chris Myers, Greg Jennings
? Minnesota @ Detroit; Joe Davis, Robert Smith

I have Sunday Ticket, but I’d just like to rant once again about must how ****ty the NFC East has been for about 25 years. For whatever reason, those games always get good ratings, but it’s almost unfathomable how crappy and boring those teams have been for so long despite frequently being in prime time.

I get why a playoff implication game gets the spotlight here but just talking about NFC East in general and how much I loathe when those games are on.

Since the mid-90s, what has been interesting about that division? TO/McNabb drama for two years? Tony Romo and his 8-8 yearly record? Eli Manning and his weekly crap fest?

Well, I'll count my blessings and say it's a good time to live in Atlanta. It would be peak Falcons to win the game and lose a top 5 pick for no damn reason.
