Starting QB thread

I read the linked article and I can't find literally any of the things you wrote here in it. Where did Cam say he can't handle the pressure? Where did Stidham "whine" about wanting to start? Where did Cam get "salty" about him? Did you link the wrong article?

Not exactly what you want to hear from your starter.

As for Stid - looks like whining to me by talking about starting when he hasn’t done a thing to earn it.

And here was Cam’s reaction.

That sounds salty to me. Certainly not a positive reaction.

Other than work out, practice and come into games in blowouts.

I trust that RI deems that as a crucial business like package stores and Home Depots.
Most likely. The RI mafia still has some influence but it's taken a lot of hits.

I dont understand the allegence that BB has to Cam. Is it a contract thing to make sure he gets paid?
Because

1. he’s right that Cam isn’t the primary issue. This is an extension of what happened in the last half of last year. If Brady couldn’t make it work, Cam definitely isn’t. Bill has to be realistic and he can’t just go out and pretend that solving QB is the fix that turns the team around. It’s a nice dream, but it’s not real.

2. In the last year and a half we saw Brady, Newton, Stidham and briefly Hoyer in this offense. All 4 were struggling with it and 2 QB’s were called washed in it. There is a reason Bill hasn’t been laying into the players this year. They are all in a **** situation

The wishing and hoping about Stidham is comical.

If he was a raw rookie then yes he should get that benefit of the doubt. No he’s a second year player now approaching 25 years old that lost his job to freaking Hoyer before the season started and who the coaching staff has seen fit to keep on the bench behind an awful passing QB.

25 year old QB “prospects” are not prospects.

Steve Young? I’m not even sure he’s even Nathan Peterman yet.

Where's the proof of that? He never calls anyone out in the media and I've seen BB chewing out players on the sideline this year.

Hey where’s Newton England?

In years past we could win or lose a game and Bill would find things to talk about what specific players or groups didn’t do well. Now he’s refusing to be critical and making comments to the press about selling out for cap. You don’t need to read between the lines.

People are in for a rude awakening if they think QB is the only or primary problem. People on this site were ready to trash Brady last year. He clearly wasn’t the problem. Cam’s arm is clearly done but his young back up with no arm issue isn’t playing better. And without serious offensive improvements, the next QB here will be dealing with similar criticism.

Belichick’s telling you “listen we didn’t invest in Cam, we didn’t invest in anybody this year, we had no flexibility, this is the situation”. People are acting like we traded a 1st or second for Cam or he’s stealing money for the team. He got a humiliating contract because he was just out there and he just happened to be the best option in a bad situation

My opinion doesn’t matter, it’s Bill and Josh’s opinion that counts. Last night was a demonstration of why Stidham is on the bench behind a guy who can’t pass. I’m sure he will get to start vs NYJ and that will be it. Time to move on, he isnt a diamond in the rough nor a starting caliber QB.
Prejudging is trolling. You seem very comfortable with prejudging.

Ok, then I’ll take Bill and Josh’s word for it. Stidham lost his job to Hoyer before the season and has not started ahead of a guy that can’t throw.

The explanation for why that is so is as simple and as logical as it looks.

It was very telling that Stidham only went 4 for 11. This overall scheme and offense just isn't good aside from Meyers/Harris and the lack of development or passing game is on Josh McDaniels. We need a new offensive coordinator. I don't think this is on Cam.

.

I would start Stidham to be done with him once and for all....the guys field vision has regressed

I don't see where you're getting "whining" from. AFAIK Stidham was asked a bunch of times and he eventually said (paraphrasing) "Yeah of course I would like to start but I'm not worried about it, I am prepping each week the same way I always do, trying to do my best" ... not sure where the whining comes in... I guess he could have just kept giving non-answers but I can hardly see any harm in a young player admitting he (gasp) would like to start a game if given the chance. I am pretty sure every young player should feel that way.

Let’s not forget Stidham looked like he threw a lateral and it should have been a fumble for 6 the other way. McDermott didn’t bother challenging in a blowout but I think he wins that challenge.

Thank goodness that experiment is over soon and this noise about a QB controversy is silenced.

We don't have a starting QB

Ok but it’s not his place to say something like that IMO. And we saw how Cam reacted to it and it wasn’t positive. There was no need for him to say that even if he feels that way.

Lol, that was not a lateral at all, it was at least 2 yards forward from his position.
