Official Post Game Thread- Bills beat the Pats

I hadn't noticed Kraft's hiding until you mentioned it.
Probably furious.

The Bucs made the post season first time since 2007 and the Pats missed the post season first time since 2008.

If Arians will let Brady his type of ball game the Bucs can beat anyone including KC.

The organization is hardly crap; it’s excellent. But it needs an influx of talent across the Board. They’ve lost Flores, Dante, Daboll, Judge. They lost Ossenfort. There’s no Floyd Reese type to help out (not sure what Eliot Wolf’s role is); can’t say who that is now, but I think BB is the only coach/GM in the league. There are two front office vacancies and several more spots that could be created. BB needs help.

At minimum, on the field, they need two DTs, an edge, another two LBs. At minimum, they need two QBs, two WRs, two TEs. That’s 11 quality players. A few of those could come from rookie/sophmore development or players returning (Uche, High) but I wouldn’t bank on it. They need an influx of talent. Forget guys who can play in the system and get talent you can create a system around.

The biggest need at the moment is a legitimate NFL QB. Everything else will fall in place after that.

I also think our whole O line with the exception of Andrews will be back, our rb core is solid, our young tight ends, Harry, Meyers...him, I guess that's it. We'll need a few upgrades.

Why don't you think Andrews will be back?

With a true NT right behind that.

BENCH CAM

Im not some crackpot fan reacting to 1 game.

I do not want Cam breaking Grogans record for rush TDs. Grogan was a warrior who played through some terrible coaches and behind some bad offensive lines. Can we at least respect what the man did for this franchise as lowly as it was prior to Belichick?

This aint baseball where youre achieving individual statistics like a Pitcher. Cam will call his own number if given the opportunity to be superman on the way out of town. Another feather in his purple fedora. He may be just a great locker room guy, but Cam is also about himself.
Just the fact that Cam has tied Grogan's record has put me in a very sour mood.

Grogan set that record with less than half the amount of carries and almost double the yards per attempt as Cam, and he did it during one of the Pats best seasons (they were robbed of their first SB win by Ben Dreith) while Cam did it on the way to a 6-9 crap-fest.

It's almost as if the Pats were regularly calling QB sneaks for Cam so he could get the record, which he'll probably set against the Jets next week. I don't know if I'll be able to watch if he starts again, just for that reason.

He's a free agent and I would go the direction of moving Thuney to Center...with Mason and Owenu at guard...
I like the idea : but because of $$$, I suspect Thuney will be on the move. I do like the idea of a 2021 OL consisting of 5/6 :
Herron-Onwenu-Andrews-Thuney-Mason-Wynn

I’d also be very open to grabbing 2-3 more OL in the draft as it’s such a delight (and key) to see a competent group.

This puts the exclamation point on a woeful season. We all knew it was happening, it just sucks to watch it happen. The worst part is that most seasons the Pats start a bit slow and improve by the end. This season, it seemed there was actual potential even in the SEA loss, then it just got worse and worse. Even the D has regressed. I really have to wonder if BB has lost something, or more realistically - can we blame Steve B. and the less experienced coaches for poor preparation, motivation, situational calls, etc... just look at the number of "12 men" calls on D for comparison. I wouldn't oppose some new coaching blood on O or D.

The DLine is awful and I do not think a new QB will fix it. Allen had ALL DAY to pass. No pressure at all all night. AWFUL. We need a QB, but need a DLine too.
They were undermanned last night but I still agree 100%.

Need a team that can contain QBs like Allen and Mahomes.

i know right. I would never rat on another poster unless they were racist or homophobic

i think difference of opinions makes this forum run !
I have issues with heterophobic posters. ;)

Its a joke.

Cam isnt concerned about the TEAM winning.

The most crucial position for the defense.

There was an article on Boston.com (I think) that mentioned Newton's workout routine which is insane. Guy busts his ass but the alarming part is no matter how hard he trains it just isn't relating to results on the field. As far as I am concerned the guy is just done as a QB. He is Tim Tebow bad.

This team should have seen the writing on the wall and not won meaningless games. They could have picked top 5 and got someone like Wilson or Chase. 7-9/6-10 is no mans land in the nfl
Still better than where they picked for the past 19 seasons. There will be impactful players available when they select. Let's figure out who that a could be since TL is not an option.

I have a big silver lining here: in a Superbowl a few years ago (I think it was Seattle), I remember that only a single starter or player who entered the game was a rookie. It was a ridiculous stat, I thought, so I went and looked at a few rosters of recent SBs. Very few rookies.

So, my silver lining?

Asiasi, Bryant, Dugger, Herron, Jennings, Keene, Maliua, Onwenu, Taylor, Uche...
Hall, Thurman, 2nd year
Bailey, Cowart, Harris, Harry, Johnson, Meyers, Olszewski, Stidham, Williams, Winovich, 3rd year

Most of those guys - both OT, both TE, all LB - played a lot of snaps last night, with Terez Hall being the only one who's not a rookie.

More than that, the only players there with a decent amount of game experience are the punter and Winovich. A lot of the above-mentioned guys show flashes, and then make huge rookie mistakes.

They played the (legitimately) Number 2 seed in the AFC, a team that is on a roll and with one of the better OCs and QBs in the league. They got rolled. Predictably.

They played hard for much of the game, but Buffalo was simply light-years ahead of them...oh, and the Patriots had no QB.

The Pats have money to spend. BB should know what he's got going forward. Some of those guys mentioned above are going to be starting caliber, some not, but they're all cheap for a couple more years. They've got a ton of holes, but they're poised for a rebuild. Flores did it in Miami, McDermott did it in Buffalo. BB evaluates vet talent as well as anyone, so he should be able to bring in a few solid pieces in FA.

First job: get a QB. If they're keeping Cam, might as well bring in Tebow, so if Cam gets hurt, the rest of the team will know exactly what to expect...

I'm curious, though, if BB will blow it up (Flores-style), or keep some of the vets around to help the transition.

There are impact players available at the end of the first round and in the second round. The problem is, Belichick doesn't pick them.

At halftime, I switched over to watch 'The Inbetweeners'

Bill is going back to the 2000 drawing board. He is going to get a game manager, draft a guy and load up as much as he can everywhere else.
