I think Garoppolo is a nice fit... No he's not the greatest ever but he will be good. He can be had for a reasonable cost compared to some of the mega QB contracts out there. He already knows the system and trusts the coaches. He isn't going to set the world on fire but he would be a known quantity, able to run a quality offense without breaking the bank and allow more resources to be used on fixing up the offense. FWIW I think Stafford would do the same but isn't a known quantity in this offense, no established relationship with the staff, etc.Do everything possible to get Garropolo back.
NoI know he’s 38 and he’s either feast or famine, but he can throw the ball and I think you could get him for a year or two as the “bridge” option.
Plus I so badly want him to sign with the Patriots so he completes the tour of the AFC East. When was the last time a player played for every team in a division? Especially a QB!
What if the top 4 qbs are off the board by the time we are on the clock and we were unable to move up? You still think we’re pigeonholed into reaching for the next tier of qbs? You said in your post we are devoid of talent at multiple positions. If there’s a better player at a position of need who’s falling down the board due to a qb run shouldn’t we take that player instead? The Patriots have to use their 1st round pick on a quarterback. If possible trade up to do it. None of the potential free agent veteran quarterbacks will be the solution. The team is really a mess with so many positions lacking in talent. Both Buffalo and Miami have talented foundational pieces to build around, Buffalo being further along in the process. Belichick has done such a poor job drafting that they're practically starting from scratch. The team will have a lot of progress to make to catch up with Buffalo and Miami. And that's just in their division; they're even further behind other teams in the conference.
Perish the thought and watch some film on Wentz this year... Cam-esque and that is not a compliment....I’d rather wait for Philly to Cut Wentz.
Welcome back Busta! BYU's Zach Wilson looks like the best-case choice for the 1st round...Maybe the UGA kid with one of our 3rds + a small trade-up if Bill doesn't take Wilson (or Trey Lance or Nick Saban's Mac Jones) in the 1st...Keep your eye on the Draft forum for updates as the weeks/months continue...Been away for awhile. Missed talking to a bunch of you
Fitzpatrick would be a nice backup at the right price
Have not been following draft prospects
Is there a QB in the draft that would be in our drafting range
that would bring back some excitement or do we trade for one
that a team is moving on from and start to replace other needed areas of the team
Well, they're losing to Buffalo. Gase will be fired post-haste if the Jets even sniff another victory so they will be in full tank mode week 17.What if the top 4 qbs are off the board by the time we are on the clock and we were unable to move up?
