It would make more sense to start any random when you havent seen play (like Stidham) than newton who has proven he sucks.
You cannot win with newton so no alternative is really worse.

It would be easy to pass on him if he paid the team a million to be allowed to play. No contract makes this stiff worth having.

Actually, reading that article gave you no new stuff on the situation at all. The writer is basing his whole article on the fact that Belichick hasn’t told the media that he’s made the change at QB. Terrible article, but it’s coming from the Boston Globe so I’m not surprised in the least.

If the Pats trade our first (we don't have a second) for Jimmy G and that contract, they are positively insane. only way Jimmy G comes here would be if SF moved on and spent the $$ on, say, Matt Ryan (Shanahan loves Matty Ice). Never mind the 1st-round pick, there's no way Jimmy G is worth his contract at this point - he can't stay on the field, and even the year he did, he was a game manager in a historically run-heavy offense.

I do think he could flourish here and, if he somehow stays healthy, become worth top-end $$, but right now, no way.

I’ll take Jimmy, but that contract is.. woof. He’s regularly injured and he doesn’t move the football down the field like I thought he would. He’s still 10x better than the option right now and you wouldn’t have to wait to develop a rookie. I want Stafford if the Pats were to go that route.

Cool. Not even sure that is correct but the original poster said the Patriots didn’t have a 2nd round draft pick which is untrue. The NFL took away a 3rd.

Cam won’t be, either. There aren’t enough young players to watch. Dugger has shown you decent stuff with some flashes, Winovich is lost on the run and Uche has been impressive the times he’s been in there. That’s about it.

I like those guys you mentioned though. Even though neither team has much to play for (Bills maybe a bit more) I’d like to think the Patriots are better than giving up 257 yards rushing to a lousy rush team. Looking for improvement there against a good running team.
