These young Pat fans flaunting their youth. "You old phuckers won't see another Patriot's Super Bowl but I will". Thanks a bunch.
That could have been what young Jete fans were saying a half century ago.

I can still remember when I was young. Back then I appreciated the older folks and would actually go to them for guidance. After all, they had life experiences that could help me. My how times have changed.

Unfortunately, I may have to agree. But we'll see.

Is this a reference to Patriot Reign? I think I remember something like one of Parcells' guys taking Jonathan's seat on the team bus.

When I get a chance I'll post a pic of my Patriots library, and double check if there are any more I want to add before I start reading. I've only done Patriot Reign, Darkness to Dynasty, and Tales from the Sideline so far. I was 6 when I became a Patriots fan during the Panthers super bowl (but weirdly don't actually remember them winning), so learning brand-new stuff about Patriots' history has been a blast.
"The Blueprint" was a good read.

I think the sequel "Drive for Five" is the only one I don't have that might be worth adding (besides Dynasty, I'm waiting for the paperback).

Here's the post I made on reddit. The other reddit thread and Patriots.com article I linked at the top of the post are also good:

There are some that I didn't order since they felt like were just moneymakers and wouldn't add anything:
  • 12: The Inside Story of Tom Brady's Fight for Redemption
  • Tom Brady vs. the NFL
  • 100 Things Patriots Fans Should Know & Do
  • My Life on the Line (wasn't interested)

That is why you are not one of the best. Sorry to burst your bubble. Really mean it. The fact you state it means there is a bubble. If there is a bubble than your emotions cloud your thinking. Very easy to see from the outside in your posts. But for a guy as intelligent as you, it is not concerning. It does not mean changing your political bent. Not trying to change your personality or politics.

I did not change MY politics......I changed my political affiliation because I was wrong about who the sell-outs were....there's no bubble that you speak of......just you nodding heads

The early 70's were promising, with the new stadium and ESPECIALLY the Fairbanks hiring.

The difference between now and then is that everyone's man cave is overflowing with twenty years worth of championship paraphernalia.

Should've been Bruins too...Damn Ed Johnston, Ken Dryden & the WHA...
And the expansion draft. The character and leadership of guys like McKenzie, Westfall and Cheevers was as crucial as their talent.

And Sam Pollack. The Habs' GM was ruthless; and I don't know exactly but it was around this time finally that Montreal stopped automatically getting the top French Canadian prospect annually (yeah helped their dynasty, ya think?).

Eddie wasn't that bad but if we could go back in time, yeah we'd keep Bernie.
Or even Doug Favell ahead of that dusty old sieve...I believe that Dryden was also very briefly Bruins property too...I'll never forgive EJ for that game 2 loss...Up 5-2 for feck's sake...

It was 5-1 but who's counting?

I know but Cheesy was in the nets for Game 7. The Habs deserved it. Jean Beliveau is an all time great. Aside from Bill Russell Boston teams have had terrible trouble trying to repeat. In every case I see blunders in strategy or personnel decisions; for example James Posey, Paul Silas, BB eschewing FG's in Denver multiple times down the stretch, etc.

It amazes me how LOCAL teams have not learned from Auerbach. He kept that fire stoked year after year and every Celtic then will tell you it was never easy. Teams were talented and determined to beat us but the Celts stayed hungry.

Today's Pats still have a lot of that determination and it would be tragic to waste it. No matter who is QB, I want Damien & Sony to get at least 15 carries a game. And I want Josh gone.
