OT: Official 2020 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Hey - quick question:

Given some of the different topics/situations that keep coming up down there, should I add a "Tom Brady Discussion Forum" where this can be broken up to discuss various topics? I feel like limiting it to one thread is kind of tough, especially if something comes up and then it's difficult to go back and find it later since it's buried pages prior.

I can group it with the forums at the top so it's readily accessible, but I'm just curious to get people's thoughts, especially @PatsBoy12 , who obviously started this thread. I'm obviously good with whatever consensus people come to, so just let me know. :)
I don’t mind one topic but I’m good either way. I admit I have a lot more interest in the topic than I thought I would.

I guess there was a Deflategate one too and that was helpful to get the board back to Pats football talk so it could be useful to make a sub forum for this as well. My 2 1/2 cents....

I don’t care about getting it off the board, I just thought people might want to break it up into different discussions like his game performance, the situation with Arians, AB, Gronk, whatever news might come up, etc. If not and people want to keep it here, I’m good with that also.

I vote yes

Good call. I just added a poll to make this easier for people to pick what they'd prefer :)

Thanks, Ian. Since Brady is going to be playing there for 2-3 years, there will be many topics to discuss. Might as well break them up into separate threads.

That's what I was thinking. A lot will happen over that span (as we've seen, plenty of things have already happened there ;) ) and it's just a little tough if you're wondering people's thoughts on something and you have to dig through the thread to see if it's already been discussed, so that's the only reason I mentioned it.

"A player that decide to leave our team" After all he did and meant to the team and fans, he's reduced to this? Yeah, that's on the edge of disgraceful. But I get it. When you reduce Tom Brady, the greatest of all time quarterback in the NFL who decided to give 20 of his 43 year old life to the Patriots and their fans to just "a player who decided to leave the team" it gives you a weak stance not to root for him. The problem is for most of us is that we haven't reduced him to that definition. And so we root for him.
Yep lots of folks here are spewing the same things Rob Parker, Kellerman, and Sharpe have said over the years. Funny thing is he chose to go to Tampa Bay the last team on any list of teams we Patriots fans may hate. Imagine if he chose the Colts or Chargers

Somehow the Colts and Chargers are not quite equal on the scale of disdain.

The problem is you are a fan boy. Nothing wrong with that, but my Patriots hero’s have come and gone over the years. I didn’t cry like a baby when Bledsoe was traded and I didn’t when Tom threw a tantrum and left for more money and the ability to choose his teammates and his plays. He just doesn’t seem to be doing an amazing job at it so far.

I don't think it makes someone a bad fan if they don't want to follow the Bucs. Just as I don't blame people for not following Paul pierce on the Nets, wizards and clippers.

Or Cartlon Fisk on the White Sox. Or Bobby Orr, or Johnny Damon or Lawyer Milloy or Fred Lynn...............

I don't think I've seen one, single person on this forum say Tom Brady is "trash" (now or ever).

Pretty much everyone I see who is critiquing Brady is saying, 'he's good, but no longer in the elite-of-the-elite'.

Not true. There's a couple of yahoos that were calling him a Jag or basically a system QB. A product of BB.

But I do agree that most have pretty much evenly divided the who was responsible for the success.

It's up to you guys but I'm fine with one thread.

Calling someone a hater for not slobbering all over a player who left the team is something a kid would do. So no I am neither 12 nor a little girl, and I won’t cal either of you a hater but if you like I can use grown up words to describe pus..ies like some of you obviously are.

Have you ever killed a moose?

I tried to once, Tony..she was sitting on my chest pummeling my head with her fat fists demanding I take out the garbage...scary

Of course, you KNOW what I said right?

I think it's mostly on the coaching. Brady this year is a lot better than last year

Bruschi said it best. They don't make adjustments on offense or defense. They call so many option routes while brady gets smashed behind the suspect OL.

But, Brady chose this. He wanted a "fun coach".
It is 100% the coaching. If you just watch Brady he clearly still has it. It’s just that the offensive play calling is **** and not catering to Brady’s strengths.

If he was still in New England with a few Bucs skill players such as Godwin he’d kick ass because he’s working in tandem with arguably the best offensive coordinator in football.

But boy oh boy is Arians a terrible fit with Brady. If he thought it was bad with Bill....at least Belichick never threw Brady (or any player) under the bus publicly like Arians has done.

I think Tom is definitely having regrets. It’s not like he was strapped for cash. He is playing to win a championship without Belichick and I think he picked the wrong destination.
