Depends on if they get Marpet back or not. He bolsters that OL and makes it so teams can’t get home with 3-4 rushers, which has been the case since he’s been out. Even in his prime, that’s always been Brady’s weakness. See the game that shall not be mentioned.
With his OL in shamble Arians should put in place a gameplan that allows Tom to throw quick but instead he is still focusing on throwing vertical. It’s crazy to me.

Manning went to the Superbowl his first year with Denver and set records.

If I remember correctly they were 2-3 when the coach was trying to force his system to Manning and at that point Manning said basically « Let me do it my way » and they never looked back.

You can see it in games Brady is not comfortable in this offense. They need to let him do it his way.

???????

On what planet ? At the very latest after the entire fourth down debacle against Chicago there was no way he would even be in the top 5 for MVP. And realistically it was always between Mahomes, Wilson and Murray. Everyone else is just there as padding.
Chicago was not a debacle. The better team won that day.

Some of the talking heads were talking MVP chance. Brady's stats and performance was about #3-6 in the league until the 2nd Saints game. He wasn't the favorite, but he was starting to be discussed. At that time, Mahomes was in the mix but not the favorite and Murray was barely on the radar. Since then Mahomes has become the favorite, Murray has gone up, Wilson has gone down, and Brady has been booted out.

Arians foolishly told him in the offseason that Brady would have to learn the Bucs system rather than importing the Pats system. Montana (from experience) warned Brady not to go to Tampa because learning a new system is hard. On the other hand, Favre told him to go for it. Brady listened to the dumber of the two and the rest is history.

By late November you should know what you have or not. Plus brady worked with these guys all off-season against the NFLs wishes. Manning went to the Superbowl his first year with Denver and set records.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to say brady's best game is short and intermediate throws and that having your 43 year old qb with a shotty offensive line take hits and throw bombs isn't the best strategy.

Manning did NOT go to the SB his first year with the Broncos. He went in his second year. However, it took him 4 years to win a title on his new team. Unfortunately, Brady doesn't have 4 years in Tampa.

Why would a self determined Master of the Universe / Defier of the Aging Process ever bend his knee to a piddling new system?

The difference between BB and most every other coach is he changes his game plan regularly to counteract what the other team's strengths are. He tries to build a team that is flexible and can do different things. Then he tries to put players in the positions where they can be most successful. Most other coaches do things their way and try to impose their will on the other teams. They try to get players that fit their style, and when they come up against a team that can take advantage of those weaknesses they are in trouble. Arians isn't a bad coach, he just isn't a great coach. He has a system that works and doesn't seem capable of making changes that would make them more successful.

The positive is they scored 24 against a top 3 defense in the NFL playing really bad

10 points came from the defense setting them up in Rams territory with INTs and 1 of those the defense set them up inside the 20 and they only got a FG.

The 24 points is window dressing, the offense was terrible. In the 10 offensive series that weren't started by a defensive turnover the offense only moved the ball into Rams territory 2x. That's not good.

I was listening to Fauria yesterday and he said something interesting. QBs in their first year with Arians have thrown their highest INTs of their career. Manning, Luck, Palmer, Winston, and a few others. He said Belichick adapts his system to the QB while Arians wants the QB to adapt to his system. It was pretty telling on 4th and 1 and Brady was looking at his arm band at the play. He’s not comfortable yet with the philosophy of what Arians wants him to do.

Yeah efficiency based metrics paint the same picture.

But who would want to ruin a perfect narrative for the lazy and take away their scapegoat.

Makes sense why Belichick stacked his career with 2 slot receivers Welker Edelman plus TEs in Gronk and Hernandez. All these middle field option routes. He maximizes his players strengths. On the flip side Brady went to a team with deep threats and big names but he isn't elite at throwing outside the hash marks.

Was he 43 his whole career

Also imagine what the players think of that dumbass Arians as he calls out players and Brady in the media. Never takes responsibility for his poor coaching I guarantee you no player on that roster would go to bat for him. Who knows how Leftwich got a job to begin with.

Tampa should be killing teams in the intermediate routes with AB/Godwin

that’s on Brady. he thought he could excel there with their deep passing game.

The Bucs have the personnel to play up to Brady's strengths though. It's up to the coaches to maximize what the roster actually does best, not what they think the roster should do best.

again, it’s a situation Brady put himself in.

Take this for what it’s worth because it’s coming from Weis. I’ll preface this by quoting him as saying that Brady was errant and that it’s one of the reasons why they lost. So he didn’t absolve Brady. But he concentrated on the difference in YAC. Goff’s receivers caught the ball and would rip off 20-30 yards in YAC at the blink of an eye. The Bucs don’t tailor their offense to that. Weis was hammering home how important that is to any offense - especially one with a LT who was gimpy and one of the better guards in the league out. He was critical of Fournette for dropping those balls because he had real estate in front of him.

IMO, the reason for the lack of YAC in their offense isn’t only on the play calling, but that’s a large part of it. With their OL piecemeal, teams like the Rams can get away with rushing 3-4 and dropping everyone else while still getting home. I’d suspect that will change once Marpet gets back and anchors that unit up front. But with that many guys in coverage, there wouldn’t be many real YAC opportunities anyway.

Yep. Flacco to Jacoby Jones to tie and end Champ Bailey’s NFL career. I remember being happy about that play for exactly one week.

If there’s any truth to this... Arians won’t be their coach next year.

Hard to say. They looked pretty chummy on the sideline before the game when Tom was warming up the other night. Arians did go ahead and toss him right under the bus to the media after that, so who knows? Gammons is also a baseball guy so I’m not sure how the hell he would have the scoop about what’s going on behind the scenes.
