Cowboys beating the Vikes is also good for Tampa. The Vikes had won 3 in a row and were sneaking up in the WC picture. GB losing also helps if Tampa can somehow close in on the Saints for the division.

TB at TB just have to go 5-1 OR 6-0 the rest of the way and they'll have a good chance at being the division or conference leader.

In the days of TB at NE it always seemed easy. A win here here, a win there, and then next thing you know they are on 5 or so winning streak.

When NE had the talent, winning streaks were easy to predict. Tampa has the talent but they are hard to predict and you just cross your finger that they win 1 against a good team never mind winning 5 in a row.

Realistically, they are looking at a WC unless the Saints lose some with Hill but right now their D is playing really well. They should get to 11 wins which will be enough for the 5th seed and a first round game vs the NFC East winner. That is a good path for them. Especially if they draw GB in the second round.

If the Bucs get the top WC and the Giants end with the 4 seed, the Giants won’t be pushovers. they should be able to beat the eagles, redskins, or cowboys rather handily though.

Brady is the GOAT under pressure. But, even in his prime, he had times where he was ineffective while getting raped up and down the field. I don’t think I need to mention the one game that springs to mind immediately. And he doesn’t miss Bill NEARLY as much as Bill misses him. Brady’s not getting exposed for being “done,” as was the popular talking point around here last season. Bill is, however, getting exposed as a sub-.500 HC. It matches his career record as a HC without Brady.
Anyone who claims this season is proof of anything regarding Bill (save recent draft day struggles) is a clown. The heart of the defense was gutted and he lost the GOAT qb. The fact they manufactured a win against Murder Inc speaks volumes about his coaching prowess. He's had a few questionable decisions and game management has struggled at times (weird things you expect from the Jete that have struck me as out of character), but for the most part, he's made the best of a potentially disastrous season. The opt-outs alone would crush most teams.

Actually, next season will be the one that defines Bill without Brady. This was destined to be an 8-8 year (at best) once Brady dipped. Coupled with them being hamstrung by the cap (due to one bad draft after another since 2013), the opt outs, and the schedule, most people should have seen this coming.

The cap ramifications of covid may play havoc for a few years, but we should be in good cap shape regardless. I'd agree '21 and '22 will define BB as much as the last 20 years have. If he hits his picks and gets things moving in the right direction, arguably GOAT HC. If he finds another franchise qb and/or goes on another AFCCG tear, his legacy as GM/HC will likely go unchallenged. If he flounders, he's still arguably GOAT HC, but will forever be subject to the idea "Brady made him as much as vice versa."

Everything is tied to him finding a legit Qb. Not an easy task but he needs to fire all his bullets to get the guy. If he signs Newton than he is destined for mediocrity post Brady.

Signing Newton for a few years and finding a Franchise QB are not mutually exclusive. The way things are going, Cam won't be demanding much. He isn't a horrible option as a guy that can bridge a year then remain as a serviceable back-up to whoever gets drafted.

Yup. Cam for another year while Mac Jones learns the offense
Would be nice

.

These OL injuries are brutal. Anyway, the Brady to AB connection looks like it's just getting started. What a 3rd down catch by Brown.

pLaYeR’s CoAcH

Rams just carving them up

Leftwich and Bowles are putrid coaches/coordinators. The Bucs offense and defense only succeeds at times because of their talent. The coaching is effectively like giving those players cement shoes.

I dunno. Leftwich looks pretty good. Like a head coaching candidate. And McDaniels looks terrible and totally exposed without Tom Brady

Case in point on that ridiculous Evans TD. Talent is going to carry that offense in spite of Byron Leftwich at OC.

How many times this season have the Bucs run a play where a guy is open pretty easily, based on misdirection or design? Maybe 5 times? And this is with all of these guys who require double teams? I watch games around the league and see so many offensive plays where receivers and running backs have ample separation/spacing from play calling all the time.

The Bucs are truly one of the worst coached offenses...every completion is a grind into tight coverage. There’s no easy chunk plays, ever. Running backs can’t catch. Screens don’t work. With talent like this, I didn’t think coaching this bad was even possible.

Do they even have a slot receiver?
