Looking forward to an entertaining Nd competitive game.

The pats arguably haven’t had two pass catchers that can consistently beat man coverage since 2017 (you can argue 2018 Gronk). A healthy Edelman & Meyers would open up the playbook especially with the time the OL provides to Cam.

Have to win this game & get Edelman/Gilmore back. Could be 5-5 with a clean slate on offense & defense with perhaps the ability to stop the run.

An eventual 5-5 is really awesome...for me at least...i like to be underdog again...this team seems resilient

I like it !

7pm, was looking forward to have those games back, can't watch stupid late night games as it starts at 2:30AM in Europe-.-
Where are you from ?

The Texans have never beat the Patriots when JJ Watt was active for the game. Unless he lands on IR during this weeks practice he should on the field Sunday.

2019 he was injured and in 2010 he was still at Wisconsin.

I’m not exactly expecting 2014 Edelman in beautiful health when he returns.
But if we get anything like even 2019 Jules, we’d be in good shape. I think meyers and byrd have both consistently shown ability to separate this year. Those 3 (and Harry) would be far from the best WR group in the league, but also definitely not the worst.

We're 2-3 against the top 15 teams in the league. With really good chances of winning both @SEA and @BUF except for 2 last minute bad plays by Cam. And we actually played the Chiefs close without a QB! Point is, we have 2 more games against top 10 teams (AZ & LAR). If we continue building like this, and get some guys back to health, and up to speed, we could finish at 9-7. Not sure that makes the playoffs, but would be a raging success for this year. Keep the winning seasons streak alive for BB.

Pats are 10th in the AFC, 4-3 vs the conference. Relative to the teams ahead of them in the WC race their AFC record is not too bad and they have H2H over Baltimore and Vegas... but they are 2 games behind the 9th place team (Ten) right now and our second half schedule is not as easy as it looks.

They've dug themselves a deep hole. If we're being realistic, our team's playoffs have already begun.

RAC knows this team. He knows the schemes. He knows the defense. This will not be an easy win. Pats always have a tough time with running QBs. How is this slow defense going to defend him?

We did do pretty well against a much faster qb last week.

Too Soon? Perhaps allow ourselves to bask in the warm glow of this rainy victory for a bit more, while enjoying the schadenfreude of John Harbaugh on the losing end of critical trick plays?

In a bit of a surprise (at least to me), the Texans are listed as 1½ or 2½ point favorites, depending on where you shop. Granted the game is in Houston, but I was expecting to see the Pats as slight favorites, considering the Texans are 2-7.

Ian's new NFL News section has plenty of links to Houston Texans news: Texans News | Houston Texans news from the local media.

On offense Houston ranks 6th in yards per play (6.0), but only 25th in points per game (22.2) and 20th in yards per game. They don't turn the ball over often, but the red zone offense is below average. Houston's pass-run ratio leans heavier to the pass side than most NFL teams, but that is likely due to being behind so often.

Defensively the Texans rank dead last with just five takeaways this season, with an league worst two interceptions. Houston is in the bottom quartile in nearly every defensive metric: 28.0 ppg (25th), 409 ypg (28th), 6.1 yards per play (27th) and 48% third down conversion (27th). Their run defense is bad, which plays right into a strength for the Patriots. Houston is allowing 5.2 yards per carry and 167 yards rushing per game, both worst in the NFL. Their pass defense isn't much better. Opponents are completing 69% of their pass attempts (28th) for 7.3 yards per pass (26th), to go along with their league-low two picks.

The line is used to even out the betting. It isn't a prediction of who is going to win. That means betting was favoring the Patriots too heavily.

If betting was favoring the pats too heavily, then they should make the pats heavier favorites, not vice versa.
Anyways when I checked this morning, the line had moved all the way to pats -2.5. People hammering the pats.

Seems like we play them every year now, and it looks like the Texans vs. the Texans, or the flying elvises vs. the flying elvises.

Sick & sad, since both cities used to have pro football teams with iconic, classy, good looking, traditional uniforms.

Now they look ugly & stupid.
I don’t mind the new/colour rush unis but they look BAD with white socks (Cam). They look better as designed with the darker blue socks.

Always find it funny that a league as picky with its rules as the NFL allows players to wear white socks over the coloured so that it’s mixed in any lineup.
