Winning ball games is fun...Making the POs is fun...

Very true. Plus it's fun to exceed expectations. They're probably going to win quite a few this year. Making the POs - hope so. I'm sticking with 9-7 for now but the Seattle game makes me think the ceiling is a bit higher. Let's see what happens vs KC.

Nothing about Sunday was a "moral" victory. We watched our team go toe-to-toe against a likely SB contender, and the best QB in the league. They didn't almost win that game because of luck; they almost won that game because they're a damn good team.

If your takeaway from Sunday is that Cam has to be better against good teams for us to win, I really don't know what to say. He wasn't the reason we lost that game -- in fact, he was exceptionally good ... scary good. A NE QB hasn't played that well in a couple years. Quite frankly, he looked as good/better than Brady did at any point last season. I'd be curious if you felt the team needed Brady to be better last season, and if he was the reason they couldn't beat good teams at points?

Want to hear some actual legitimate reasons that we lost on Sunday that have nothing to do with Cam? Nick Folk's missed FG and Wilson's incredible play.
Sure sounds like a moral victory reading through these posts. It used to be that we actually cared about winning not just competing well. But I get it. We are in a rebuild year and no one knew how Cam would look so yes, I am pleased overall with him and the state of the team. I just don't view it as we went toe-to-toe with a great team. Seattle is a great offense with a horrible defense. It was not unexpected or at least it should not have been that we would score on them. Second, the strength of this team is its secondary and it was embarrassed in every way possible. If you want to chalk all that up to Wilson, that's fine but to truly contend we are going to have to beat the likes of Mahomes and Jackson.

I never said Cam was the sole reason we lost but his pick killed us and his clock management at the end contributed to the loss as well as his decision to run left on the last play. He actually said that himself. So I am sorry, yes, he does have to be better if we are going to beat good teams. I could care less about hypothesizing what Brady would or would not have done. The comparisons are quite silly as this team is now designed for Cam with plays designed for him so the discussion is pretty moot. I would remind you though that Brady was lights out in the first 2 games of last season (33-3; 43-0) with 5 Tds and zero picks and a 124 passer rating.

I agree about the kicking situation being a big issue and it will cost us all year and most likely be the reason we don't make the playoffs assuming we can continue to beat the bad teams.

Bradyite says the comparisons are moot. Then talks up Brady. Lol

Sheesh at least compare Cam to a Sam Darnold or something. I mean Darnold does have a higher QBR than Brady does so he's closer. :)

I was pleasantly surprise by their competitive effort and thoroughly entertained. The loss annoyed me because they were so close to getting the W, but I'm just glad that there is NFL football to watch during a pandemic and that nobody in my immediate circle of friends and family has suffered from symptoms.
Oh and by the way, I think I am doing pretty well in the Alamo contest for the first time in my years and years of playing in the contest (even if it's only week 2).

I knew Belichick would make this season interesting despite the setbacks. They are competitive and that keeps me entertained. I got home from work Sunday night, got my beer and frozen pizza ready and watched a great game. I love my Patriots football!

Why in this thread lol

I am sorry, I may have confused you; I posted Damian Harris and meant Damien Harris, who had a great game today running for the Pats vs. Baltimore Ravens. The Pats won. Did you watch the game? Don't you agree?

Then he was interviewed after the game and he had a great smile and attitude. Did you watch the interview? Great game Go Pats

I did watch the game and the interview. Both were awesome. He’s really likable.
But this is the postgame thread from our week 2 loss in Seattle.
