Thanks bb! We have no chance at a playoff spot this year and we now have no chance at Lawrence!

what an utter failure!
We have a better chance at a playoff spot right now than we ever had at Lawrence.

The impression I got reading between the lines from spygate was that a lot of people did exactly what the pats did, and some ex football coaches claimed the were amazed at how people had selected memory loss when they nailed BB for it and they were criticizing BB for doing it when they did it as well. At that point, I chalked it up to a NFL commessioner who wanted to play Hitler (and from what I've seen of him, really don't like him on the way he has handled the entire league in the past).

And I do agree with you about BB walking if he was told to do something where he thought it was cheating.

As I mentioned, I was actually glad I stayed up Monday to watch the entire game. If I was going to make a comment about Cam, I would want to watch the entire game (normally I'm in bed by 1900 as I'm up early for work). I thought it was a good game, thought the Pats came back well during the second half, and what do I see when I get on this board? People complaining about a win and talking about teams tanking.

No. A lot of teams didn't do what the Pats did because the Pats didn't do anything.

I haven't read through this thread. Are people pissed the Pats won last night?

Seems like some people wanted us to tank and saw this as a pointless win.

I hear them however can't agree. I was smiling after we won yesterday. I just can't agree with tanking. Not after how I felt after we kicked that game winning field goal.

Yep...And what's Even Worse than that is that Bill just allowed it to happen.

Which is why if I were Kraft I'd think about firing him. I thought Bill was smarter than that. I thought his hatred for the Jets would have been an overriding mentality.

I honestly don't think Bill plans on being here much longer than this year or maybe the next. Again, by losing out the rest of the season would have assured the Jets don't get TL. Maybe the Pats don't either, but the Jets wouldn't. It was an easy calculation, yet one that he failed miserably. And I mean miserably.

Lol, firing Bill after 6 trophies and 20 years of insane success because of one down season?

If Kraft does that I'll be turning in my fan card until Kraft is gone because that would be the dumbest thing Kraft could do

No, not for one down season. For not taking advantage of a crappy team an having a horrible season. I would have saluted Bill, put a 10 year 30mil contract in front of him if he had properly tanked this season. He had a golden opportunity, and that win against the Jets yesterday probably bounced them out of the top 5. Its ridiculous. A useless win, in a useless year with a useless team.

20 years of good will provided a massive opportunity. If the Pats were o-9 right now, people around here would be rejoicing that TL was on the way. Instead, its murky and thats the worst thing you can have. Period.

So..... you wanted Belichick to lose on purpose?

That'd be the true fireable offense. If Kraft fires Bill for this season... then he's the worst owner in sports. That's how idiotic and embarrassing it'd be and I wouldn't even watch next season.

So you care more about a season with no fans, a league high in opt outs, hurt players and a really depleted roster, versus having a consensus (with plenty of tape and high level title games) stud QB waiting to be drafted by the NE Patriots?

Put it this way. Cam Newton or TL? Jimmy G or TL? Insert QB that is realistic name here vs TL?

That what I thought. And because of Bills hubris, not only will they not get TL, a division rival will get the best QB they have had since Namath. In your division. In a year you had a big say in if that was to happen or not.

He slid. Easy to see by the replay. Rulebook says that's giving yourself up.
He hadn't yet caught the pass when he started his slide...Two different things...

This entire idea that players and coaches purposefully tank individual games is just stupid. Sure, it is possible that GMs strategically trade away players to gain assets on a team that goes nowhere.. but that happens outside the actual football operation. The players and coaches don't want to put up bad tape as that would lessen their value and job security. Exactly what is in it for them ? Does anyone think Gase will survive a successful tank job ?

People pointing to the 12 men penalty yesterday as some sign that the Jets were throwing the game are just grasping at straws. Why would they be able to get enough buy in from their players and pull that off intentionally but then a play later not conveniently leave on side of the formation vulnerable for the Pats to just run it home for a TD ?

There are so many less obvious ways to throw a game if you have buy in from some players than idiotic penalties in big spots like that. Where were all the unnecessary PIs, blown coverages, players slipping and whatnot ?

So many silly conspiracy theories around these days..
I can’t take anyone seriously that thinks players and coaches are actively tanking during the game. Not to be “that guy”, but anyone who says that hasn’t had much experience with a college or nfl team atmosphere.
For the sheer time and effort investment these guys put in, it’s just inconceivable that they would then flat out choose not to do their best in the few opportunities they get to actually play. As you mentioned, they have a whole lot of $ at stake, their pride, their reputation.

Hall was a good UDFA signing last year as an Outside, run-&-chase, coverage LB...Not as an Inside, Guard-stacking, short-yardage LB...
That should be Jennings' job now, with Hall & Uche at OLB...And for feck's sake Bill, do not give any more coverage responsibilities to
Shilique Calhoun please!

76 snaps for Izzo is crazy. This will be like deja vu when Harry got hurt and Meyers was buried but good, Sony got hurt and Harris was buried but good, and Asiasi will turn out to be a good TE that the OC had zero clue about either.

On defense I'm sorry but 11 snaps and 9 snaps for Calhoun and Brooks is still too much. These players do not belong playing any nfl snaps. They are terrible.
