No it isn't.Jesus, that's messed up. I'd rather see more harris too, but that's one hell of a poor reaction.

Should the colts tank this year? The Bears?Vikings? Any team that doesn’t have a super bowl qb should just try to always go 0-16?B/C it's a throwaway year....the Pats are not going to get into the playoffs and they are certainly not going to win the SB. You have one of the best QB prospects we've seen in years. What good is it if you end up 8-8 and pick 15th in the draft when the top QBs are going to be gone by then? If the Pats had their QB of the future, I agree - go for it and win as much as possible, kinda like the Giants, who have Daniel Jones. We're in a different spot though.
The play is over when he gives himself upBut you can’t call a timeout in a middle of play. The referee blew the whistle when the Jets touched Meyers with 3 seconds left then they called a timeout. The thing I didn’t think about like Elijah pointed out is that the ref would stop the play if they think Meyer was giving himself up.
That had nothing to do with the timeout. If no Jets touched Meyers or the refs don’t think he is giving himself up, the clocks is running out and you can’t call a timeout.
Last night's "win" was Indeed detrimental...Surprised you're not seeing the Big Picture here...Oh gosh, they might as well forfeit the game now. You also can do everyone a favor by not tuning in.
What weak nancies we have in this fan base. The team enters a season in cap hell during a pandemic, has a losing skid and suddenly winning is "detrimental." Pathetic.
"Golden Parachutes."Do people really think the Jets blew it on purpose lol? Flacco and Gase probably won’t even be on this team next year.
I'll assume what your "big picture" entails and totally disagree with it. WINNING is why you play the game, not losing to jockey for draft position and a pick that may or may not pan out. Last night's opponent is a prime example of why that's nothing more than a crapshoot.Last night's "win" was Indeed detrimental...Surprised you're not seeing the Big Picture here...
Yep...And what's Even Worse than that is that Bill just allowed it to happen. What's worse is the best QB prospect is going to our most hated divisional rival.
Which Meyers never did.The play is over when he gives himself up
What should Bill have done? Fielded an even worse roster so everyone here could ***** about the fact that our roster sucks and Bill can’t draft? Both teams were trying. Our team is better than theirs. And even if we lost, we still probably wouldn’t have gotten lawrenceYep...And what's Even Worse than that is that Bill just allowed it to happen.
True but the Jags have one win. Better Lawrence go there than the Jets. What should Bill have done? I just don't think any players or coaches actually tank. no one is putting together sub-optimal gameplans on purpose. bill isn't gonna go out there and try to lose the last 10 games of the season, and he shouldn'tTrue but the Jags have one win. Better Lawrence go there than the Jets.
He slid. Video is clear. Doesn’t matter why he was getting up or not. By rule it’s a dead ball. Even if he didn’t I doubt any defensive player in this league is going to back up from him on a bang bang play.Meyers was Not giving himself up there...In fact, he was beginning to rise...
But their coaches should've TOLD them to allow whichever receiver caught the ball to LET HIM GET UP AND RUN OUT THE CLOCK...
If their coaches really really wanted to win the game that is...

If the Pats-Jets game was week 15 and they were both 2-12 or something I could understand the logic that winning the game may not be the best long term outcome but no team starts tanking before the midway point in a season. The Pats started the year by beating a very good Miami and LV teams and coming within 1 yard of beating the Seahawks. They had legit thoughts of a division title or WC berth. They are a thin team and additional injuries have hurt them but they are too good to lose out and I am glad for that.
Teams don't tank in the NFL. There is zero benefit to the "tankers". A crap record gets you canned. Which is exactly what happened with the Colts when they supposedly "tanked". Team president, GM and coaching staff - all fired. Half the roster - gone. This entire idea that players and coaches purposefully tank individual games is just stupid. Sure, it is possible that GMs strategically trade away players to gain assets on a team that goes nowhere.. but that happens outside the actual football operation. The players and coaches don't want to put up bad tape as that would lessen their value and job security. Exactly what is in it for them ? Does anyone think Gase will survive a successful tank job ?
People pointing to the 12 men penalty yesterday as some sign that the Jets were throwing the game are just grasping at straws. Why would they be able to get enough buy in from their players and pull that off intentionally but then a play later not conveniently leave on side of the formation vulnerable for the Pats to just run it home for a TD ?
There are so many less obvious ways to throw a game if you have buy in from some players than idiotic penalties in big spots like that. Where were all the unnecessary PIs, blown coverages, players slipping and whatnot ?
So many silly conspiracy theories around these days..

So how did they benefit from "tanking".
It. Doesn't. Happen.
