I’ll take the 2 SB appearance and 1 SB win with Brady and a few years of pain after Brady, over keeping Jimmy G and dumping Brady early.

Don’t know how many times I have to say this. CAP SPACE. They didn’t have the CAP SPACE to sign Brady.
Or Jimmy G. Have you seen his deal?

And am I the only one who saw the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl?

There is little room for creativity when there are no receiving threats. With no receiving threats, 3 defenders are in coverage, one spies Cam, and the rest are free to attack.
Not if you're Josh McDaniels and regarded as one of the best OC's in the league. That's a cop out if I've ever heard one. I know that the challenges you state in your post are real. I'm not negating that. But to say that's the reason McDaniels hasn't been able to figure out a way to scheme and mask some of the deficiencies is giving him too much of a pass for his mediocrity. Curran (if memory serves) reported about how there were quite a few coaches and staff who were saying they could be as successful with just about any QB in that system. This is the time to show and prove, but they're not getting it done.

I'm sure an upgrade of talent would obviously improve things, but if you're one of the best minds in the game (purportedly), then you can't have an offense struggling to score even one TD in a game. I'll concede to some fair points about the lack of overall talent because that's blatantly obvious, but I will not concede anything when it comes to not being able to get in the end zone at least once in a game if you're talking about McDaniels. Every year this guy is getting offers to coach. I'd be looking very closely at the Patriots now and really asking myself tough questions about how much of his success had to do with the guy who used to QB the team if I were looking for a coach. And I don't think that's unfair at this point.

1. I wasnt serious. I figured that there couldnt be anyone stupid enough on this messageboard to believe that Belichick would purposely try to go 2 - 14. I forgot about someone.
2 The Jets are going 0 - 16 if thats what it takes to get Lawrence.
3. I dont recall who you are, but my guess is that youre a Cornpop fan. So dont tell me about IQs.
Wow what a snowflake. You really got triggered. Embarrassing. I’ll fight you intellectually with half my brain tied behind my back to make it a fair fight.

Youre already functioning with all 50% of your brain cells. Dont give up totally.

I'm totally fine with the Pats letting Brady go IF there was a great succession plan in place. He's 43 and we are in uncharted territory, etc. - so I totally get that the team was not interested in him anymore. However, I assumed that Bill evaluated Stidham and Newton and one of them was going to do just fine. It's been nothing but a train wreck though. So like many others it infuriates me to see him doing so well on another club.
TommyBrady12, you and I haven't agreed on much and that's okay. But this, to me, is stated in a way I can finally understand. I say that because until I read this it just seemed like the same Brady vs Bill stuff and almost like you were hoping Brady would suck. Maybe I still believe you do wish Brady sucked, if I'm being honest, but this post clarifies some of my own misunderstandings of some of the stuff you have posted about Brady.

The only thing I will say is you can't blame Brady for the team not wanting to move forward with him, though their reasoning wasn't entirely wrong. Brady is just doing what he was determined to do. The team (and many "fans" and detractors) didn't think it possible. That's not Brady's fault. So be infuriated with the Patriots, not Brady or his success. Be mad they had no succession plan and what seems now to have been a gross overestimation of their system. None of that is on Brady.

I love the Pats, but I definitely want to see Tom do well. I’m glad he’s got great stats and team success at this point. In fact, if the Pats don’t make the playoffs (I know, queue Jim Mora) I’d like to see Tampa win it.
I agree with all my heart.

I was a teenager in the 1970s, so you may be right about the 50%, killed a lot of them having fun. But my 50% would crush your 100%.

I don't want Brady to succeed because he's no longer a Patriot. I don't want any fan base other NE sharing in his greatness. Is is it schadenfreude? Perhaps, but I can't stand the thought of seeing slimy Bucs fans at his HOF ceremony. These were among the same people calling him a cheater all these years.

From Brady's perspective, he went to greener pastures, so I agree that he did what was best for him. I don't fault him. As far as NE's perspective, they did everything wrong in this debacle.

Understood, TommyBrady12.

I'm concerned about the half of your brain tied behind your back..........can you paint a clearer picture of that?

Gee, there is no way for me to respond to your wit and intelligence.

Once you see that picture, you can’t unsee it. You seem like an ok person, so I don’t want to do that to you.

Every coach ever struggles when there are talent and execution issues. Coaching would have made no difference at all the last 2 weeks when newton throws the ball like he has.
Go back and look at the Warner Int. It’s as a bad a throw as you will ever see in the nfl. The receiver is behind Warner and warner has to scoop the call off his toes. He under threw the guy who was 2 yards underneath the route. You can’t overcome that with coaching. Add in the decisions newton made and you can’t create plays that work when the qb screws them all up.
You can’t mask that.

After 19 years of rooting for Brady, He’s my favorite football player of all time, not just my favorite Patriot, So when I’m watching a Bucs game, I find myself automatically rooting for Brady. It’s just a normal reflex action, like breathing. I can’t not root for him. Tried to root against Gronk, because I felt he ****ed us over by taking forever to decide to retire, so we lost out on FA TEs. Yet in an interview, he said he knew during the SB, that he was going to retire after the game.

That being said, I find myself rooting for Gronk as well. I guess it’s like a break up with someone you love, yet you still wish them well. For example, I’m happy my ex-wife is doing really well in her life. I’m even happier I’m not with her anymore.

I'm absolutely rooting for Tampa to play in the Superbowl which is in Tampa this year. Brady is the man. I don't get people who feel the need to either laugh at Tom not knowing it was 4th down, or conversely relishing Belichick struggling on a team that had a terrible cap situation even before covid and then a half dozen player opt-outs.

I'm not soliciting for your opinion of me.........your words lack purpose or sensible meaning.....try to stick to the topic

Excellent post. For example, Byron Leftwich looks like an awesome offensive coordinator right now on the Bucs. Leftwich is a better HC candidate right now. McDaniels is being totally exposed. Brady made McDaniels, this is so obvious now. McDaniels has done nothing in 3 stints without Brady - in Denver (3-10 before being fired), in St Louis (worst offense in league), and now this season.

I feel I made my point, specifically talking about talent, so I respect your position but don't agree. Simple as that.

In any event, Brady has stopped following NE on instagram. Maybe he doesn't like us anymore. Who knows.
