Might as well activate the PS QB to see what we've got. I think we know now why Cam was still available.

If we're going to be realistic, no move(s) are going to sway this team's chances this year.

That makes it more attractive.

I mean, Thuney is the type of player you’d love to move forward with - but I think he has value on the market and I also believe this is his last year. Based on $.
Yeah if it looks like a deal is unlikely, they should deal him and save some money and get a guaranteed pick.

Much as I like Thuney I’d take their first for him in a heartbeat. Might be looking at two top ten picks next year.
We're not getting a first for Thuney, and most likely not a second.

I would not get down on Cam so quickly. Let the guy develop into McDaniels' system. McDaniels even had Tebow looking OK at one point.

And no, Cam is not helped by our receivers. I don't think he's the kind of guy that can make use of Edelman, but I do think he can play well with decent NFL receivers.

The difference between Harry and Jakobi was startling out there. He connected with Jakobi the first 4 times he targeted him, all of them for good yardage.

Just because Cam is not as good as Brady is not reason to give up on him. I never expected anyone to come in and play anywhere near as good as Brady. I think we're a little blinkered by Rodgers replacing Favre, as though that's normal. It's not. The Dolphins are still searching for a QB since Marino left there over 20 years ago (though ironically they had one in Tannehill).

J Jones played poorly in the half that I watched today and he hasnt been as good as I remember this season(Not going to look for stats tho, so i could be way wrong). Besides JC, i am not that confident in anyone else outside of Gilmore

our O-line has been patched and remended this season already, I dont think we are in a good spot to trade our best lineman (and backup C) for a rebuild

but again, i know there isnt a thing like an untouchable player
Yeah I’m more in the camp of hanging tight and making any (most?) substantial changes in the offseason, and looking elsewhere on the roster for regrouping. Thuney IMO seems like a rock on the OL to build around. Can never have too many linemen as we’ve come to learn.

That way Bill has plenty of picks to trade down into the second round for crappy defensive backs.
That was a good one. If you're going to take a DB, take the obvious one that was rated higher and who's father played in the NFL (Antoine Winfield Jr.) He's made quite a few plays as a rookie so far.

You're not alone. I've noticed Jones regressing and was met with crickets. He's had a bad year and teams are targeting him.

If we lose to the Bills next week we should be sellers and try to acquire picks.

Gilmore is the most likely guy to be traded. Over 30 and highly paid. If he was younger we could get a 1st and possibly more, but now we are probably looking at a 2nd.

Thuney I’d like to keep and build around but if Bill figures he’s to expensive then trade him for a 2nd.

We would then own the 2nd round next year which would enable Bill to trade back into the later rounds, pick an unknown DB, and pass on drafting playmakers at the skill positions.

This is a helpful post filled with keen insight. I like the part where you know what GM's would pay. Incredible.

Think most suggesting moves aren’t saying they should completely tear it down. More so some of the talked about moves (Gilmore, Thuney) that come at positions of strength, which could still leave good framework moving forward.

the question no one seems to ask is, if we get rid of all those players and their salaries, next year, having all those young rookies, what would we do with the insane about of salary cap we would have. Spending 100 mill a year suddenly, isn’t all that easy, nor the smartest. Plus agents know they have a lot of money, so you can forget any kind of discount.

Offseason needs:
Qb
A lot in the front seven on defense.
Many wide receivers.
Tight ends
Kicker
Right offensive tackle
Safeties

Lots of work to do!

Trade Thuney and Gilmore for sure. I'd look at Burkhead and or White as well. Gut the roster for draft picks and sink like a rock. 2 years of rebuilding should be enough. They need to nail the QB though.

In the nfl, there are two types of teams....

1.) teams with a franchise qb
2.) everybody else.

we get a franchise qb, we are a playoff team.

there just so happens to be a franchise qb in this draft. All we have to do is lose all the rest of our games and get a lot of help and we can get that guy!

My opinion.

-offer a team like Dallas a package of Gilmore and Can for something like a 1 and 2.

-offer Thuney to the Bengals for a 1.

-offer Edelman for like 3 somewhere..

Then pray you lose enough to get a QB in the draft and then do what you need to in order to get WR’s and TE’s. Then fill in holes with free agency. We will have cap space
