Since the drafting of Vereen and Ridley in 2011, Bill the GM has drafted exactly ONE impact skill offensive player - James White (2014). That is why we have games like this. There is no guy like a Kamara (3d rd), Diggs (5th rd), Tyreek Hill (5th rd), or Nick Chubb (2d round) who can take a short play and turn it into a 60 yard gain. I include the round in which these guys were drafted because it shows you don't need to find skill players in the first round. We are going on EIGHT DRAFTS without a receiver, tight end, or running back who can change the game - a guy who makes a play in a game like today. A guy who instead of James White taking a 2 yard pass and making a move and getting an extra 5 yards- yippee - can make 2 or 3 moves and turn 5 yard passes into 50 yard touchdowns. It's simply non existent in this offense.
I absolutely never agree with anything you say. But I cannot disagree with with what you posted here.

You could have your choice of HoF RB in peak condition and he would have not gained many more yards today due to catastrophic run blocking. If you entire run game averages 2.7 yards then I am not looking at the RBs but at the OL to understand why.

Before the big OL shuffling we consistently had been one of the best running teams so far in the season. There might just be a connection right there.

Our OL did have a rough day, but we have talent on the OL.

White is a excellent receiving RB, but Sony Michel is the worst starting running back in the NFL.

Name a worse starting TE than Izzo ?
Name a worse 3rd receiver than Byrd ?
Name a worse 2nd receiver than

We all love Edelman, he is a tough as nails player, but he is no #1 receiver at this point in his career.

This is on Belichick
Poor drafting in recent years has caused a lack of quality skilled position players.

A good portion of people here are very happy right now.

I don't know what this team is yet. Today isn't diagnostic. We will see, but this was a winnable game that got away.

That’s at least two, possibly three, winnable games that got away.

Nobody is happy. At least not that I can tell. A good portion of us are, rightfully, pissed off. The practice excuse is just a way of being able to avoid a tough conversation about this team as well as several posters sticking to their talking points from 2019.

Hopefully Andrews and Mason are back next week and they get a full week of practice. Beat the 49ers next week and go from there.

You mean ever since McDaniels came back. No coincidence. Gronk, Hernandez, Edelman were developed with Bill O'Brien. McDaniels hasn't developed anyone for 8 years nor did he do so from 05-08 either. I will give him credit for one year of Cassel.

I'm pretty disappointed as well, but those of us who have been watching the BB-era Pats have always known that the Pats win with less talent because of the coaching. So are the lack of practices a factor in this game? Absolutely. To say otherwise is disingenuous. It's not wrong to also point out that the talent, or lack thereof, is a problem and amplified in situations like this.

And the only thing Boston fans like more than winning championships is *****ing about their favorite team. That's why Felger has a show, and yes, a following. Losses like today really do make them happy, even if they don't realize it.

I guess we'll see if this team is 2009, that folded in the first round, or 2013, that at least made it to the AFCCG, or if this team can make the playoffs at all.

Teams that lose close games sometimes become a lot more dangerous as the season goes on. Sometimes they crack and fade into 7-9 obscurity. No one can say for sure what this team is.

It wasn’t all rushers in front of him. A few of them were rushers that beat the tackles and he flat out held the ball too long.
I’m talking about the ints

There is no positional group on the team that requires being on the same page more than the OL. Losing Ferentz and Mason late in the week then losing Eluemunor early in the game really put the team in a bind. And this is after already losing their starting RT before the season and their starting center being on IR. Throw in the inability to practice and we saw the result.

All that said, they need to be able to put it together well enough to beat a marginal at best Broncos team. BB clearly has his work cut out for him if this team has any chance at the post season.

Ferentz is not a loss at all he's Jordan Devey levels of dogshit.

If Bill is talking about the lack of practice as a major problem then that’s good enough for me to accept it was a major problem.

But they better learn from this cause there’s a decent chance we will have at least another no-practice week like this while there is a pandemic.

I’m fine with losing the game. It just showed us what the Pats are as a team. Total rebuild is needed.
As I said you should back away from football for a while you aren’t being reasonable.

What are they supposed to “learn”. A team needs practice. Are they supposed to “learn” how to not need practice?

I don't expect Bill to wax poetic on why the Pats lost.

If the team can't perform up to standard without practices, it won't get better without practices. That's like trying to improve your bench press by not strengthening your muscles.

Today didn’t go well but one thing we, as patriots fans know is that they get better as the season goes along under BB. Gotta let it play out. Don’t like being third in the div but lots of football to go.
And that was a pep talk for myself after feeling brutal after a bad loss.
