Season on the line next week

Your assessment of the O-line and Harry are laughable.

O-line - Wynn is playing hurt. They lost Ferentz and Mason less than 48 hours apart. So they had a makeshift line that had ZERO f'in practice together. Add to that Eluemenor going down early and you had 3/5 of an O-line that hadn't taken regular snaps to this point.

In terms of Harry, he's doing excellent in his run blocking and he's getting open. You clearly missed Cam missing him ridiculously in the final series and it had nothing to do with a CB bumping him off the route.

The Patriots didn't exactly call a lot of passing plays early on because of the makeshift O-line. They went to calling more because of the hole they were in.

Cam is accountable for 2 of the sacks he took because he should have thrown the ball away. Beyond that, it was clear that the team had only had 2 practices in 14 days.

YOU and every other person throwing out assessments who don't take that into consideration don't know jack about the game and are just spewing in a vain attempt to look smart.
Well the OL did suck. Whether they are the normal starters or not doesnt change that.
Harry had 1 target and no catches. That’s not good by any means.

It has been a long time since a Pats team was dominated like that. Denver even tried to give is the game at the end and we still messed it up. Horrible game from Cam. This offense will struggle anytime they face a good defense.

When was the last time we were 2-3?

This team wasn't DOMINATED by any stretch of the imagination. Please stop making s**t up. Or is that all you can do in lieu of actual football knowledge?

Reality. The team was without Butler and Cowart on the D-line. It was without Andrews, Eluemenor and Mason on the O-line. If they were "dominated" the game would have been in the 40's. It wasn't.

What the game showed was a team that had 2 weeks of practices compared to a team that had 2 practices in 2 weeks. It highlighted how much preparation and practice mean to teams. Particularly along the lines.

The Pats aren't good enough to not show up for 3 quarters and expect to win. Coach Bill had some curious decisions to say the least

Blame Cam all you want (and he does deserve some of the blame) but I put a lot more on McDaniels.

The play-calling was absolutely atrocious all game long. Save for the first 2 weeks of the season, McD's play-calling has been terrible for the better part of a year, going back to last season. You have a 6'3", 215lb WR and you can't throw one single, f*cking fade/back-shoulder throw? You know, the ones Cam is good at throwing?

McDaniels gets stuck in a certain type of play-calling and has no nuance/tact in adjusting. Take away what he does well and he has no alternatives. Today they tried to run the read option, once that got shut-down they had no alternative plan for running the ball. They tried quick hitters in the flat, but the DEN DEs were all over batting those down. And after that, he fell into a long-developing, downfield passing attack with an injured o-line.

Infuriating - absolutely should've won that game.

Absolutely. The play calls are terrible. He calls plays as if Cam is Jacoby Brissett. Cam can really air it out if MickeyD actually opened up the playbook. Also still has zero idea how to draft or develop tight ends or wide receivers.

The offense is largely built on precision and you can’t be precise if you don’t practice and the players can’t/don’t execute. We saw a ton of that today. There‘s a lot of blame to go around.
The offense is built around QB running plays. Pretending otherwise is a waste of your time

There are a lot of annoying toolbags on this forum.
Similar to real life.
Back to the game : I want BB to win every single game he can with what he has. Having said that, I think this year’s ceiling is “making the playoffs”. Since that isn’t a novelty around here anymore, I’d be open to exploring assets to move. Including, but not limited to, Gilmore & Thuney.

If they saw enough with Sanu to get rid, what are they seeing from Harry in practices? Dude is not an NFL WRs period. It is disgusting how defenders just crowd the LOS against us. WTF BB? Is this the plan? I understand they did not practice, but one on one is just mano a mano and these WRs could not do jack.

WTF are you smoking? What's disgusting is that you missed WRs getting open and Cam just not getting the ball out. Cam was late on the throw to James White that got picked. Cam threw behind Harry on the last series. Cam missed Byrd and Harry several times when they were open. Why? Rust, mostly. A couple times was because the makeshift line didn't do enough.

Harry IS an NFL WR and you'd know that if you stopped your *****ing and paid attention. He's getting open. It's not his fault that the QB doesn't get him the ball where he can catch it.

If you're going to ***** about Harry, then you should be *****ing about Edelman as well since Edelman got open all of ONE time today. ONE.

What’s funny is that most of the Buccaneer fans here are using the lack of training camp and injuries as an excuse for Brady, but when Cam misses practice for 2 straight weeks because of Covid and had injuries to the o-line, he sucks...

Did he say that today?

Did BB say that bit about building character immediately after the KC game in 2014 at his post-game presser? Or did he say it after the season was over when he was able to look back at the team's journey in its totality? I'll give you a hint: it's the latter, not the former.

If people had come to this forum after the KC loss in 2014, saying that despite the loss, the game could build character for potential late-season success, would you be still be piping on about "nO exCuSEz"? Of course you would.

Lots of folks who are angry, emotional, myopic, and lacking in any ability to critically evaluate the circumstances around today's game, and then step back and evaluate the season as it has been played to this point, and what lies ahead.

Pre-COVID outbreak, I'd have agreed with you and said McDaniels was doing a great job adapting to the change in QB skillset. I even gave him a pass for the Chiefs game because there isn't much you can do with Hoyer. But today we had Cam back and McDaniels totally and completely reverted to his 2019 playbook and made Cam run a passing offense meant for Brady. Makes no sense.

Cam needs to have better pocket awareness. Yes the line was terrible today but he held the ball way too long on multiple plays. That and the batted passes which are becoming a big problem killed us. They need him to stop side arm slinging some of these underneath routes and they need to bring in someone who can make a play in the passing game. Maybe the Eagles take what they can get for Ertz or maybe the Texans are willing to part with Fuller and we just hope he actually stays healthy. At this point I wouldn’t even mind getting Dede Westbrook or see if AJ Green has anything left (which I doubt but whatever take a shot).

it's not Harry's fault he was picked in the first round.
...nor was it Dobson's he was picked as high as he was.
We need to accept we cannot draft receivers well (at all). It is what it is.

Specifically McDaniels can't evaluate receivers or RBs. Keep McDaniels out of the draft war room or draft evals.

.

He's a 59% career passer
He cost a million bucks

Sometimes, "it is what it is" is what it is

Cam was at 68.1% going into the game. He was 17/25 (68%) during the game. He missed some open receivers and he had 3 passes tipped.

I said "time, time, Time, TIME!" in my head on both sack plays.

Cam had to try hard on his passing downs.

Maybe give credit to DEN for covering his receivers.

They were both tipped???
He threw the first one right into a rusher and the second right at the on underneath. They were tipped because he threw directly at the guy who tipped it.
