Broncos Pats moved to MNF

It really annoys me that they didn't push the KC game back, the league obviously wanted us to play short handed, how else could they make sure that KC remained un beaten !!

This is the best outcome for the Pats. Hopefully there are no more positive test over the week and the Patriots can practice this coming week. I hope both Cam and Gilmour make it back for next weeks game.

That would truly be fantastic. Let's hope that the reports of them being asymptomatic are true, and that they are at the extreme end of that. "Asymptomatic" is used differently among both docs and patients, with fatigue, low fever, and light headache often not considered symptoms because they don't shut people down. Plus, the virus can weaken the body even in those who report no symptoms.

No idea how they finish this year with any kind of credibility. The league was about to have the Pats play a game w/o practicing after already playing the same day they traveled and w/o their starting QB. What if that had been the AFCCG? Are these decisions being made on clearly defined protocols that all teams are aware of or all they being made on the fly? We all know how important integrity of the league is.

Definitely is a better option than risking things this week, in terms of player health....and overall better for the Pats.

Week 5 bye is early but not a significant difference compared to what was supposed to be a week 6 bye. The Broncos will get some guys back (Lock, maybe Fant and Hayden) but that also means that:

- The Pats will (hopefully) have a full week to prepare for the Broncos, instead of one practice and some zoom meetings. The likelihood of new infections based upon yesterdays practice is very low, given the reports of minimal indoor interaction and either mask or face shield use during practice.
- Cam and Gilmore will likely be back
- Wynn/Mason/Jules/Butler can rehab injuries and will be at or closer to 100%. Jules clearly needs the rest for his aching knee. Calf injures (Mason, Wynn) are dangerous and can linger for weeks without the proper rest.
- Beau Allen could be back from IR.

The Broncos fans, as some players, will surely be pissed (week 8 was their bye week).

Personally I would have let the Pats have their BYE week and postponed the Broncos game indefinitely just to make sure that NE is out of the woods in terms of incubation time and whatnot. As things are now there is still a chance that the new positive case in independent of Newton/Gilmore which would restart the entire timer yet again.

If someone else shows positive next Tuesday/Wednesday the entire clown show starts from anew.

Correct, the Pats have no more margin for error in terms of Covid

That would suck. I can deal with postponements. And so long as the players still good with taking the risk so they can earn a living then I'm good.
I thought they should cancel it before the season basically because they didn’t seem to have a real plan in place to deal with it. I also wanted them to cancel the season beforehand because I didn’t want to get a month or two of football to have it taken away. Another team or two ends up with a Titans-like situation I think that will at least put a pause on the season.

The NFL may just have to accept that this isn't going to be a "normal" year. There will be postponements, and probably some lengthy delays as the season goes on and outbreaks continue to spread. It could wind up being like the NBA or NHL that had some VERY delayed seasons; playoffs as late as AprilMay or the Super Bowl in June/July. Highly doubt the season will be cancelled outright, but to expect it to run its course is a bit silly. It is what it is.

Even with a high survival rate, just a couple linemen (an at risk group) dying will be a bad look, but I'm sure they've got graphic designers with great ideas on how to make a cool graphic T for that.

This is just turning into a huge mess. I don't see how they play tomorrow.

The NFL continues to put the players at risk while the union sits back and does nothing.

It's still absurd these guys are playing. It's a horrible look for the NFL right now.

The Super Bowl winner this season will be similar to winner of Russian roulette.

Pushing through with little to no plan is better than an outright cancel. Unless your the players taking the risk what is the value in cancelling? Also if this continues to get worse and they cancel at least you got a few weeks of fun and learned a few things about the players on your team.

at risk of what? Some people are still acting like getting Covid is a death sentence..99.9% of football players who catch covid will be fine...

What about the people they see their parents their kids their significant others some of the coaching staff?

Over 200,000 people have died because of this and that amount will likely double in the next 6 months. It's attitudes like is the reason this isn't going away anytime soon. Yet it's is business as usual for the NFL which is turning into a horrible look.

They should probably avoid those people at least while the virus is in their locker room. Sux but they could of opted out. They knew what they signed up for. And it's on them to avoid those at risk in their lives.

League should add league wide byes after week 10 and 14 (or something like that) and use them for make up games as needed. Hopefully that will be enough to avoid the scheduling chaos we are in the midst of.

How do you think the gamblers and Vegas feels with factors changing by the minute????

Was shortsighted to NOT add more byes from the get-go. Not surprising, but very shortsighted

Game as been postponed.

Sometimes I'm not sure what the goal is or was. Is it to prevent transmission or to control it? Initially I thought it was to keep the hospitals from becoming overwhelmed which we're doing.
Anyway I can't wait for this crap to be behind us.
