Rohrwasser will go to practice squad if he's lucky. He's had a terrible camp. He's only still there because they drafted him.

I wonder if they knew he was going to be a project. Maybe he's the Stephen Neal of kickers and in 4 years it will look like another genius BB move.

The Pats tied the Pats.

Kind of makes sense!
Woe! Woe! We are doomed! They can’t even beat themselves!
Bill the GM’s flaws have intersected Bill the HC’s flaws to produce a team winless in the preseason.
cue the GDT anguish!

“It’s kind of the same because when I was at Alabama, they always pulled up his film too,” he said. “It’s kind of normal now.”
Big difference though. Instead of that being the guy you’re supposed to learn from and emulate now it’s the guy you’re supposed to replace.

If stidham does not get hurt, he might have won this competition at qb.

Doubt it. Seems he was being outplayed by Cam. And I’m a Stidham fan, would have loved to see him outplaying the former MVP who’s been injured for a couple of years. But ‘‘twas not happening.

I'm not surprised Cam (unless by an act of god) will be the starter, but Stidham completed over 72 percent of his passes, and if my memory is correct, at least 3 of his interceptions were after the injury on under thrown longer passes, which may have been injury related... Most likely he still wouldn't have won rhe competition, but it would've been closer.

Is it different? I don't think the two players had any college overlap, so in a long term way, Jennings replaced Hightower at Alabama too.

Yes I’d say it’s very different. Not only did they not overlap they were separated by four years or so. Jennings didn’t replace Hightower at ‘Bama. He replaced the player that replaced High, with Dont’a being held up as a role model but not being the act he had to follow. He wasn’t really Hightower’s understudy there, just being told to study him as a great example. And now here he’s not only being given Hightower as a model, he’s being asked to fill his shoes. Not even as understudy, as his replacement. Probably best he doesn’t pay attention to it, but it’s got to make him feel pretty special. I just hope he plays that way!

So I assume the real scrimmages happen behind closed doors next week and then we will hear of who has made the team....1 week to decide the final roster and then 1 week to prepare for game 1

Jeff Howe on Jerrett Stidham (listed him among those whose stock is falling):

Stidham held a very slight edge in the quarterback rotations through three practices, but he stumbled through a brutal three-day stretch with seven interceptions and a minor hip injury, causing him to practice on a limited basis for much of the past week.

Stidham has completed 59 of 81 passes (72.8 percent) in camp, including 23 of 31 (74.2 percent) without an interception this week. But at this point, it seems to be too little, too late.

This climate has created a three-week sprint for jobs, and Stidham couldn’t afford those hiccups against a veteran like Newton. Comparatively, Jimmy Garoppolo always had preseason games to prove his practice interceptions were the outlier, but Stidham doesn’t get that opportunity this summer.

Kinda ironic that we all were wondering about Cam's health since he was signed but then it was Stidham who couldn't stay healthy through one week of real practice.

It doesn't help his case either when reports came out that coaches were frustrated because it seemed like an overuse injury from not being in good enough shape coming into camp.

Have you been listening to Felger and Mazz? I have seen no legitimate sources to back up the notion that Stidham didn't show up in top shape or to support the speculation that this was the reason for his hip issue. It is likely sports radio/twitter BS and nothing more.

Adding to this point, I remember some poster pointed out shortly before camp that Stidham and his wife were apparently partying all summer based on social media. I never looked into that myself but it does fit this larger narrative.

No I haven’t listened to that, I remember seeing it posted here from a beat writer’s tweet. Could all be speculation.

Not news but just for completeness sake since it happened yesterday.. Hastings got released..
