Glad he's excited. He should be. They're the odds on favorites to repeat and so on.
Let’s not go overboard here. They are the favorites in the sense that they have the lowest odds out of all 32 teams, but they are nowhere near odds-on. The number I am currently seeing is 6.5/1.

Holy crap is that Mahomes girlfriend screeching after JG misses Sanders?

Really getting sick of all this talk... they won a SB and now are self proclaiming themselves to be the next dynasty and will win minimum of 5 SBs

NFL never used to be like this, but now everyone who gets a taste of a SB runs their mouths about how wonderful they are.. Philly had blowhards declaring they have discovered the new model for a winning organization built on FUN.. that sure stood the test of time!

It gets tiring... that and Patrick Maholmes obnoxious girlfriend who was tweeting that her boy toy would win more SBs than Brady before he even won his first SB

Its just ridiculous... talk is so cheap, but that doesnt stop these guys from running at the mouth constantly. Yea, they want to be positive and pump their fans up, but they disrespect the game and the dynasties that have actually been there and DONE IT by running at the mouth and claiming they will be the next one after ONE superbowl... sorry dude, it takes a ton of hard work, dedication, sacrifice and some luck to become a dynasty... you have A LOT of work to do

Why dont you focus on just defending as SB champs, which is hard enough in and of itself.. before you start worrying about becoming a dynasty with 5+ rings

Feels like I’ve seen this story so many times. Team wins Super Bowl. Team has young star players. Team then retains the same core and pays the **** out of everyone, thinking that’s a recipe for success. A year or two later, the highly paid star players are no longer assets (some are liabilities) and the draft luck has run out.

The Chiefs are doing exactly what the Seahawks and Packers did, but they’re accelerated the big money deals for some bizarre reason. It’s like they just couldn’t wait to break the bank for a handful of players. They’ll have a Seahawks-like team soon with no depth, holes everywhere, but 4 all-pros. Then we’ll see if Mahomes is Brady or Manning and can win 12+ games no matter what. I’m skeptical. Not a knock on Mahomes so much as the overall QB competition level is higher - at least the floor - than it was 10 years ago.

It's really hard to maintain success in the NFL. Having a All-Pro QB in his prime makes it easier, but even then no guarantee at a championship. GreenBay has had arguably the most talented QB in our lifetime and only 1 ring to show for it. I would argue that Rodgers is better than Mahomes when he was in his prime(although less likeable). That 2011 season GB went 15-1 and all it took was a bad game and a promising all time season went down the gutter. The NFL playoffs are extremely difficult all it takes is 1 bad game from the juggernaut and to get taken out. I also see the Raiders , Broncos, and Chargers improving so the division is tough and Chiefs will still have to get past the Ravens and yes even our Patriots we have the defense and coach to stop them.

Not one... not two... not three....

I think the Heat have a bunch of rings in a cardboard box somewhere--maybe they can work something out.

I think Mahomes can win 3 or so titles, but let's be clear. Mahomes, despite winning SB MVP last year, did not play well in that game. People (not accusing you but in general) have to stop slobbering over him. He had a great 2018 and a so-so 2019 regular season. He was 9th in yards thrown and 11th in TDs, and he missed just a couple of games
You can consider me 1 slobbering all over Mahomes. What he's done in 2 seasons is extremely impressive. But even still I think this kid is special and excited to see what he does next butIbut not predicting more than 1-2 more title even 2 is stretch. I think he's too good not get another (I thought the same of Rodgers So....) But to predict much more than that would be foolish.

I heard next years QB class is off the chain.

Lawrence for one has the makings of the next elite NFL QB.

Jones is living in a vacuum. He is fat and happy with his new pile of money, but is not taking into account that other NFL teams will improve and that NFL defenses will come up with answers for the KC offense. Every team gets found out.

Best of luck to you, Mr. Jones.

Try not to have a decade-long span where despite winning the division every year, going to many AFCCGs, have a 16-0 season and lose two super bowls. You can have a really, really great team year after year and somehow still miss the prize for a while.

I absolutely agree he's the best QB in the league right now. However, I'm not putting him in the same class as Brady or Manning...and based off of what I've seen him do in 2 years, he's a notch below them. If he goes back to his 2018 form where he's throwing 40-50 touchdowns every year for the next 15 years then he's on his way to being among the top 5 ever. Right now I see him as Brett Favre or John Elway type.

Defense and salary cap management wins championships and theirs was good enough to win 1. Sure, Mahomes is going to get better, they’ll probably see another one.
But lets be honest, the defense isn’t great and people are starting to get paid around there. They better draft really well if they hope to see 3. Btw, if they ever do sniff 5 Mahomes will be probably the only one on that team to get them. See: The tale of two dynasties via Tom Brady/Bill Belichick.

How many did Seattle and the "Legion Of Boom" predict before they had to pay Russell Wilson?

The Chiefs are primed to win this year, nothing is guaranteed and injury the great equalizer.

Beyond this year they start over like everyone else, Andy Reid is a smart guy, they will remain competitive. Promises are hollow...

Players excitement early on gets the best of them and they wind up going overboard in the heat of the moment. Clearly its fine to have this attitude and goal, but I would think its best to keep it on the down low and inside the locker room. When the chiefs start having difficulty resigning their stars in the 3rd year of Mahomes contract, the challenge of repeating will increase dramatically.

However when you have a core talent like Mahomes, barring injury, it is likely that the Chiefs will be in the mix for many years to come.

Given his personal history, Tyreek Hill doesn't seem like a good bet to stay for another 5 years at the level he's been at the last 3 years. Kelce is another one who my gut tells me will have a tough time maintaining his current level of play. Add to that the typical cycle of next-tier guys wanting to get their big paydays. Then you look at Reid's history, especially on defense, he wasn't able to maintain a high level of performance with the Iggles after they finally made it to the Super Bowl.

So its a no for me also, dog, but keep barking up a nice target on your back.

Is he even signed for 5 more years? These guys man...

My thoughts:

1.) They are the champs. They earned the right to talk (shrugs).

2.) The Patriots won six in 20 seasons, but also lost 3 narrowly contested Superbowls and a handful of short handed AFC title games. A team needs to be "in position" more often than not to even win a couple because the bounce of the ball can be brutal....just look at the Saints the last 3 seasons....primed to go to the SB only to bounce out of the post-season against the miracle diggs catch, the uncalled pass INT, and last year losing at home to Kirk Cousins and company......

3.) All of that being said, the Chiefs look well positioned to do so though as long as Mahomes is standing upright. I could see the Chiefs winning 2-3 Superbowls in the next 10 years....4? 5? 6? That is gonna need some bounces of the ball, some healthy years, and some good cap management.

4.) This doesn't even take into consideration the Baltimore Ravens...that team is built to beat the Chiefs....good D with great rushing offense.

Back to back to back to back to back super bowl champeens.

Buffalo Bills went to 4 straight bowls.
