Nice guy when not on the ice.If he can stay healthy and play like 2018, this could get really interesting. He is still young for a QB, and I suspect, very motivated.
The first time he does that stupid Superman pose, I am going to have to find a way to kick myself in the balls for being happy. But I will be happy.
If I cheered for Chris Nilan once, I can certainly get behind Cam.
Bill went into the season drafting Harry, with Gordon, Edelman. Then he later signed Sanu and Brown.
Harry was IR’d rookie year and missed crucial development time.
Gordon was hurt, cut and suspended
Brown went crazy and is still not signed.
Edelman got injured and required surgery.
Sanu came to a new team and almost got an injury he required surgery for.
This idea they Belichick is at fault for 2018 is kinda silly. A bunch of unfortunate **** happened to what looked like one of the best WR’s corps in the league in the first few weeks.
Then in 2019 a run in the draft at WR happened right before the Pats and the last good one was taken a pick before them. Then we got two of the higher quality TE’s in the draft. We were strapped for cap and couldn’t make many moves in free agency.
Again given the situation the biggest change is Belichick maybe trades up for a WR

We’ll see what happens..Newton is NOT an accurate passer. 1 season in his career did he reach a 66% completion percentage. Bradys baseline was a consistent 66% completion range which is why Brady was so successful in todays passing NFL. Newton likes the INTs and sacks.
Cam Newton Stats | Pro-Football-Reference.com
At Newtons age he does not need to be running around playing Lamar Jackson. Newton will be forced to stay in the pocket and pass which almost always never works out because he is used to running when the walls close in.
He played 2 games last season.... and the prior season he had his sending best seasonIm not a fan of his after last season, really think hes done as a starter. But i still like the signing. If a backup im sure he will not see anything near 7.5 mill, and for a cheap salary id rather have him than hoyer filling in for a few games if needed.
If somehow he turns into a legit starter and does well enough to earn 7.5 mill, that would be an incredible bargain for an effective starting qb, maybe 1/3 of what most make. Then we may very well get a nice comp pick next year.
He’s not; but this a pretty good signing.BB is not infallible.
Just look at last seasons WR and TE corp. The 2018 group was subpar and was not fixed in the 2019 offseason. Brady had nobody.
I hope this is a joke or a 10/10 troll job lolAn Open Letter to Cam Newton

Dear Cam,
Welcome to "Beantown". This is home to many past sports heroes like Bill Russell, Fred Lynn, Mo Vaughn, Paul Pierce, and Troy Brown.
First, let me apologize for many of the negative things that have transpired in the past with great men like Adam Jones, and Torii Hunter. I speak on behalf of white people in Patriots Nation in personally apologizing for being a part of the great problem, and we will all strive to do better at being the change we wish to see in the world.
I hope that you will find your stay with the New England Patriots to be pleasant, and most importantly, know that we root for our players through thick and thin. Whether or not you score touchdowns or win games, know that you are appreciated.
Patriots Nation is as diverse as it gets; we have fans all over the world in various countries like Africa, Nigeria, and the great People's Republic of Cuba.
For now, though, it's time to dance!!! I am greatly looking forward to doing the endzone wiggle when you score your first touchdown (if you do - if you don't, it's okay because you are always welcome in New England no matter what.)
With Great Sincerity,
Patriots Nation!!!

I wonder if it wasn't a coincidence they let it be known they signed Cam the day the punishment for the Bengals thing dropped.
Brady's baseline was more like 61-62% completion percentage, especially early on in his career and again in 2019. On the other hand, Newton's CEILING is about 60%. So if Newton has a good year he's basically Brady in a bad year, which is not bad at all TBH.
Or they were waiting to see what the punishment was before signing Cam.
Nobody will be given anything. Nobody knows how healthy Cam is. Stidham could be pretty good. Cam without his wheels might be as good as Cassel or Brissett. I think in 2018 Norv Turner showed Cam could be more of a game manager and play the check down game. He has a big arm but has never been terribly accurate, that won't change at his age.Cam is only 31, if he is healthy he should still have plenty left in the tank. We are talking about a former MVP who has played some very good football as recently as 2018. Stidham would have to be pretty good and Cam pretty bad to land the starting spot.
I think Cam is here with the expectation to be the starter and Stidham sits back another year.
