Tom Brady pitching snake oil

He never claimed it was a cure to anything. Having said that, that's Buccaneers problem.

Thats exactly what he did.

Claimed this crap help his immune system.

I looked into the product. It has 5 basic ingredients: Vitamin C, Zinc, Larch Tree Extract, Elderberry Powder and Wellmune.

According to my 5 minutes of google research, the first 4 ingredients genuinely help your immune system. The 5th ingredient, Wellmune, also claims to help your immune system though I couldn't find any sort of independent confirmation of that (such as WebMD or drugs.com).

So it's not snake oil. It is a vitamin and mineral supplement, and vitamin and mineral supplements have legit health value. However, like everything else on TB12, you can literally find the same item elsewhere for less than half the cost.

I'll stick to orange juice and 1-a-days, and save myself $500 annunally.

Don't add to the misinformation, please. Show me the real evidence that Larch Tree Extract and Elderberry Powder have any protective affect in terms of infection or "immune boosting". Actually, I'll save you the effort. There is none.

Vitamin C and zinc have been shown to be mildly beneficial in this regard but those supplements can be purchased individually at a fraction of what he is charging. That's the point. As a physician, Brady pitching this wildly overpriced product in the middle of a pandemic is offensive.

I am 1000% in agreement with the OP. I was going to create the exact same thread. I work in clinical research and I think many of the TB12 products are complete BS and yes equivalent to snake oil.

This "Immune booster elixir" consisting of Vitamin C, Zinc, Larch Tree Extract, Elderberry Powder and Wellmune is completely unproven to have any benefit.

I would love to see robust real scientific data from clinical trial(s) that even remotely proves that this "boosts" the immune system in any clinically meaningful way. It does not exist which is why they make these bogus vague claims.

Even if there was valid proof (which there is not), I know for a fact that you could not prove that the immune system "boost" would provide any meaningful protection for whoever takes it.

It is a scam and BS, meant to make money for TB12 with no proof that it does anything other than lighten ones wallet. What is next? TB12 male enhancement powder

I suppose they may not do any harm, but other than tricking people psychologically into helping them...I hope TB12 and his marketing "executives" hope they can sleep at night knowing they are taking people's money without value in return.

Surely your joking? The exact ingredients in brady's powder are immune boosters. Try doing a google search on any of them.

Do you do daily orange juice and one a day now? I see this kind of argument come up from time to time for lots of things. You're all correct., that tewre are cheaper alternatives for all these things. The problem is some people are willing to pay to have it out together for them. I can eat way cheaper and just as well by learning to cook for myself or I can pay a fancy restaurant a lot more money to have it put all together for me. Some people would.never take vitamin this or suppliment that until someone offers it up. To each their own

Edit - to the young folks, Jim Fixx was credited with contributing to the running craze. He saw his father die of a heart attach when his father was young, like 43, so Jim got very into health and exercise. He wrote books etc. He then died of a heart attack at 52.
To be fair, there is a huge genetic component in cardiovascular disease and cholesterol levels (LDL) which contributes to it. Fixx died in 1984, the same year the first statin was patented.. Who knows whether he would have died as young today with cath labs, angioplasty and cholesterol reducing drugs....

I didn't see becoming Shaklee as someone's post sports career goal......

Did I I miss where Brady's head grew 3 times its size like Bonds?

Not to divert but I just wanted to remind everyone that Peyton Manning had HGH delivered to his house and the league swept it under the rug.

Carry on...

really??? immune boosters...what does that mean to you? Does this increase T cells, or proportion of T helper cells or antibodies. They have intentionally used a BS vague term like "immune booster" which means nothing...because they have no meaningful data to fall back on

That was kind of my point too.
