I looked into the product. It has 5 basic ingredients: Vitamin C, Zinc, Larch Tree Extract, Elderberry Powder and Wellmune.

According to my 5 minutes of google research, the first 4 ingredients genuinely help your immune system. The 5th ingredient, Wellmune, also claims to help your immune system though I couldn't find any sort of independent confirmation of that (such as WebMD or drugs.com).

So it's not snake oil. It is a vitamin and mineral supplement, and vitamin and mineral supplements have legit health value. However, like everything else on TB12, you can literally find the same item elsewhere for less than half the cost.

I'll stick to orange juice and 1-a-days, and save myself $500 annunally.

Like I said in the other topic the way Brady talks about his buddy Guerrero and TB12 sports isn’t all that different from how Barry Bonds talked about Victor Conte and Balco before things started happening there.

I don’t think Bill is that sad to see the influence of Guerrero be another team’s problem now. Tom hopefully can distance himself from that cause I don’t think he (Guerrero) is all that he seems to be. Fair or not it will take only one exposure of something illegal at TB12 to put a question mark by Brady.

Im not accusing Brady of anything I just think he needs to run as far as possible away from Guerrero. He’s the guy selling snake oil.

And yeah if something happens at TB12 like it did at Balco then Brady will be drawn in fair or not. Conte like Guerrero was also was a guy who was selling natural and unconventional things and techniques to athletes at the expense of regular medical and physical conditioning...

Run from the guy that he has been working with for the past 13 years who has helped made it possible for him to play an elite level into his 40s? Not sure if you read his TB12 book but there is no snake oil there just a holistic approach to diet and training.

Jim Fixx looked great till the day he died. I agree, it is diet and exercise and yes flexibility which is more important for folks as they age. In my mid 50s, I lift some weights but it is about remaining flexible.

Most positions in the NFL are high impact positions where it is important how hard you hit. The QB position is not one of those. The TB book will give Gronk a better life for the rest of his life but not make him a better player vs Gronk Smash.

Edit - to the young folks, Jim Fixx was credited with contributing to the running craze. He saw his father die of a heart attach when his father was young, like 43, so Jim got very into health and exercise. He wrote books etc. He then died of a heart attack at 52.

So the Vit C and Zinc, for sure, but that can be had for less than 10% of this cost. And with a healthy diet, you get the maximum amount your body can use anyway under normal circumstances. There is some evidence that Zinc is anti-viral, but no one understands what's happening, how much Zinc is necessary, or what the long term effects are. We do know that long term overdosing will cause other health problems.

Elderberry, Larch Tree, and Wellmune are possibly useful, but still not certain. They sound cool, though, and a lot of people use them, which sometimes gets confused with actual impact.

I'd be very careful about any ingredient that doesn't list the actual substance, but instead lists either the source of the substance, or has a name from a marketing department (Wellmune). That's a form on non transparency, marketing manipulation, and perhaps (often) as sign of incomplete science.
