What to expect in the Post-Brady era.

Disagree. If Stidham is good and Belichick pulls an amazing rabbit out of his hat they could potentially go 9-7 but that would require some brilliant coaching, surprising QB play and a lot of luck. The floor is 5-11 if things go bad, which is quite possible.

A lot of this comes down to Stidham but even if he is pretty good he has his work cut out for him with the options he has to work with. Hopefully at least one of the TE's is good. That could lessen the pressure on James White and maybe give Stiddy the option to dump off and get some nice catch and runs from White.
I will say it again. Look at last year how many of the 12 wins would have been a loss with average qb play?
We finished as a .500 team over the last 7 games with bottom 5 passing production.

Are you expecting 45% completion from Stidham?
This was not a bad team that had a good record only because of it’s QB. Tom Brady or 2014 wasn’t carrying this team.

Yep. Lee has glass bones, Sanu stinks, Harry is too slow, Meyers is a JAG, and Edelman is what 34?

Losses

More losses

That’s what I want next year to get a franchise QB. I still have my doubts with stidham. If his ceiling is jimmy G is that enough? Jimmy G got exposed in the super bowl and he was never a guy that can put his team on his back and put his foot on a game like brady used to.

Here's what to expect: No NFL season this year. Tragic but true. That'll show Tom to try to not retire a Patriot.

That’s what a lot of pats fans are hoping so he won’t win in Tampa which i expect him to do .

There’s a lot of time left. I think there’s a season.

You think we could be 10-6 or higher? I think that is a pipe dream. Maybe in 2021, not 2020.

If given the choice, all jokes aside, I'd rather be "over" the whole virus thing, just have a normal fall, everything back to normal, blah blah blah.

I just don't see it happening. The next normal - not the new normal - stats with the vaccine, and that ain't this year.

So how are we having a season? I can't answer that whenever I think it through.

There keep being these optimistic thoughts about "done by easter" "done by May" "grand re-opening" blah blah blah. But logically, how does it happen, when everybody who "gets back out there" gets really sick again? (More accurately, many more individuals get sick.) We're perched on the edge of real plague proportions, and if we want to roll those dice, we'll damn well be over that urge by fall.

Jesus i hope you’re not under a bunker with shotguns. Lol. It’s ok to come up.

Definitely. Why couldn’t we be?

Run the ball and play defense and the patriots could go 12-4. Last year the offense sucked for many reasons. Injuries on the OL injuries at Wr and no TE or FB.

Patriots should be able to run the ball.

I mean the defense was ridiculous so even though I think they will be comparable it’s still a tall order to be THAT good.
But really 12-4 came with little help from the offense. 11 opponents were held to 14 or less.
An offense resembling 2001 with this defense absolutely could win as many games as last year.
The problem is when the post season starts we no longer have the human difference.
But Tampa doesn’t either because those days are over.

Buffalo won 10 games last year and scored less than 20 points per game and was highly competitive against just about everyone. If Stidham can play like rookie Dak Prescott (another 4th round pick) then the Pats have a real chance to win the division. If he sucks then the "I hate just about everything about the Patriots" crowd will finally be right and the Pats will be in for a long season. They'll then need to address QB next year.

Yep, luckily its only about 3 or 4 posters and they have the combined IQ of a brick.

even then you are looking at 20 years of success, 1 year suckage, high draft pick and tons of cap room in 2021. I will sleep well regardless.

The Pats have a lot of unknown or unproven players on the roster in addition to this years draft. Some of the players from 2018 or 2019 drafts may break out. Maybe Wino becomes a stud like Bruschi did after a couple years, maybe one of the OL from last year steps up and becomes a quality starter, Harry takes a huge step forward and justifies his draft position. We've seen players like Trey Flowers seemingly come out of nowhere and become huge parts of the team success. The uncertainty of 2020 is the clearly the highest in nearly 20 years but as an optimist I think if a few things fall into place they have started building the foundation for their next run.

Including a 20 lb. bag of rice in the groceries seemed obsessive.

So I went with the 5.

You might think it will never come to that. So did I. But I never thought I'd be making it rain for our local strippers with 2-ply either.

change gon' come.

Nobody can possibly know how good Stidham is as a starter until he plays meaningful games.

I dont think being a lot better than 2019 Brady was is that difficult.

Than why is he already be hailed better than Allen who took his team to the playoffs in his second season

I want Cat like quickness and hustle across the board.
