Keep your political ******** out of this thread.

Great move by Jonathan Kraft and the Patriots. I know so many people working in the medical field with nearly zero protective equipment. Hopefully these get out to the hospitals and medical centers right away.
Did I say ANYTHING Kraft or the Patriots?

So Baker bought the masks from China... Hope they're not defective like some of the masks and equipment they've been selling elsewhere....

This is what the bad orange man was talking about that sent the beta **** media into orbit; might be easier for states to buy directly bc too much red tape and regulations at the federal level... Not Drumpfs doing; the red tape is the result of an ever growing and overreaching federal government
There is virtually no arm of the federal government left that exists in as extensive a form as with presidents like Obama or even Reagan with all the recent cuts. So I'm not sure where all this red tape symptomatic of bureaucracy is that you claim is getting in the way of a response by the states. At this point, I'd wager states are increasingly wondering what the point of "AMERICA" is as an idea when they have to do all the heavy lifting.

If anything this crisis may start to beg the question about whether this country and its people would be better off dividing into 3-4 separate countries. The federal government is corrupt, ineffective, and lacking in any care for the individual states. I'm just not sure what the upside is of these 50 states (as well as territories) being under the same umbrella when that umbrella is becoming more frequently a threat to the safety of the states than any foreign power.

Split the entire west coast off from where the left side of Texas ends.

.

Great publicity stunt for Kraft. I assume it would have been cheaper and easier to load you know, a cargo plane (I imagine many are available right now) but that wouldn’t have had the Pats logo on it.
Wasn’t a stunt. Baker specifically involved the NE private plane to keep the masks out of the feds’ dirty hands and prevent them from stealing the masks like they did the last time MA had masks shipped to the US.

Correction. Massachusetts paid for it at cost, half price. Kraft used his plane to go get the masks.
Kraft also bought the 300,000 masks to give to New York. Massachusetts couldn’t spend their state money on those.

I am super happy about Mr.Kraft for doing everything he can to help. We need all the owners to help.

Sure, since a large number of cargo planes are 767s, he should have *not* taken his 767 and should have rented a 767 to fly the cargo instead of flying their 767. They just wanted to show it off... makes perfect sense
Not a good idea. For a lot of reasons. Would have added a lot more red tape to an exercise Kraft already describes as the most difficult thing they’ve ever done. Plus it would have caused delay, finding a plane and scheduling it takes time while Kraft can have his plane ready to launch pretty much as soon as they decide to go. I wouldn’t be surprised if Air Kraft One were already on the way to Anchorage before they had the paperwork clearing them into China. That wouldn’t happen with a charter. Plus using the Patriots plane generates goodwill and positive marketing exposure that a charter wouldn’t.

If you didn’t then what makes you think it belongs on a Peatriots board, in a thread about the Krafts’ airplane?

I thought people would recognize sarcasm. I guess not.

Sorry, had just seen the post before yours, that you responded to, and it blinded my sarcasm detector.

Hourly cost of operating a Boeing 767-300? ~$9,000

Probably a lot less than $9k an hour in the last month, since the price of jet fuel has plummeted with the grounding of most flights and Saudi-Russia price war drowning the market.

Or because it’s the right thing to do. Bob is a mensch.
From that PFT article:
Sometimes the "right thing to do" is also a 'smart thing to do." Sort of the definition of "Win-Win."

Who knows when the fuel was purchased? Be that as it may, I doubt the Chinese gave him a discount on the cost of refueling for the return flight. :)

We did a half-dozen lay-overs at Anchorage to/from the States and MCAS Iwakuni Japan, half of them in July and half in January...big difference...
I wonder if that 10-foot stuffed polar bear is still displayed at the terminal there...
As I recall the one in the secure zone for Transit Passengers is a Grizzly Bear. There might be a Polar Bear somewhere else in the airport though.

Who knows? But the media reports are that he put up $2 mill for the masks in addition to the cost of the flight.

Awesome gesture by Kraft. No good deed goes unpunished...well unless you're Jemele Hill of course
