I am listening to PFW in Progress....and they opened the show talking about the wisperings of Seymour being surprised of being put on the PUP list to start the season.

Great news! Sounds like he will be 100% against the Colts.

This was a great move by Bill

Edit......sounds like he will play vs the skins this weekend

Has also been a full participant in practice thus far

Awesome :rocker:

Re: Seymour surprised

I'm all for team spirit, etc., but doesn't Seymour have a right to be pretty damned annoyed if he didn't "deserve" to be on the PUP list, or if he could have come back much sooner?

1. he could lsoe his ability to amke the Pro Bowl this year

2. no chance to be defensive MVP (a stated goal of his).

etc.

I understand that these are Individual awards, and that the Pats players are all about team, but if he could've been back, say, Week 3, I'd think he'd have a right to be pretty annoyed.

Wisperings as as useless as tits on a bull. Do you think that Belichick knew his team was going to be so good and relatively injury free on the DL that he shelved his best defensive player for seven games that he was healthy enough to play in? Good thing Warren or Green didn't get hurt.

I mean, come on....

At most, Seymour possibly thought he'd be ready before game 7, and thought the Patriots might just keep him gameday inactive, like the Lions did with Kevin Jones. But my guess is that these wisperings are fabricated.

umm, the way seymour has played last two seasons...he wouldnt have had a chance to make defensive mvp for the year even if he had played all season

I suggest you listen to the tone of the talk when you get a chance. Sounds legit to me. I listen to these guys everyday....and hardly ever throw that kind of stuff out there for the fun of it.

Re: Seymour surprised

And what RULE was violated?? Go run to Polien now...GO!! Go crying and maybe he and the slanted Competition Committee will makes changes..come on..GO!!! whimper and GO!!! You did it before...now shoo!!!
Chill.

It sounds like BB didn't really use the PUP list as it was intended. I also assume that there are requirements to be put on this list? Maybe there aren't, just asking.

Re: Seymour surprised

I couldn't care less what other teams do, I'm just enjoying seeing the Pats win, and enjoying the steam coming out of other teams' fans' ears.

My guess it that Seymour was at about 80-90% to start the season, and BB figured he could win without him....and would rather have him at 100% for the most important part of the season

It requires a pre-existing injury, which there obviously was because he had surgery. After that, it's the team's call, Seymour may have felt like he was ready to go, but Belichick gets to decide.

Okay, however these same guys were reporting of whispers in September that Seymour was in bad shape and could miss the whole season. Now they report whispers that perhaps he was healthy the entire time. Seems to me that they (and others) write whatever's going to start controversy, and then attribute it to "whispers".

I'm pretty sure that was Felger reporting the whispers that Seymour could miss the season, and not any of the PFW guys.

Please remember, folks, that even though there is a handy collective noun, "the media" are composed of a large number of individual people acting, for the most part, independently of one another.

Re: Seymour surprised

This doesn't jibe with the surrounding facts.

If Seymour were just fine, surely he would have been activated last week when he was first eligible to come off PUP?

And we're supposed to think the Belichick craftily played fast and loose with the rules in order to bench one of the best linemen in the game for half a season in favor of a practice-squad guy? Ooh, clever.

He had knee surgery. He's a big, big man. He had to get fully healthy. Whatever.

Yes, that's it. And, the whole "cheating" nonsense provides a great distraction from other team's focus on the real reasons as to why they are losing to the Patriots. Bring on the distractions! It will slow their improvement process.

Most players think they are supermen and think they can play when they can't or think they can return faster than medical science allows. I don't think it is a big deal that Seymour thought he could be back faster than the first six weeks of the season. It doesn't mean that it was medically likely for it to happen.

You and your silly facts and reasoning. BB CHEATED AGAIN!!!!

When I heard Seymour was at practice yesterday I was happy to hear the news just like everyone else. But, I still questioned his health and availability for the rest of the season.....especially for the all important Indy meeting on the 4th. I considered his participation in practice as nothing more than a tryout, to see if his knee was ready to go.

The point of this thread was to put everyone's mind at ease as to whether he would be ready to go at all. Heck there was a report that he might not see the field at all this season.

Now we get to enjoy seeing the best defensive linemen at 100% added to the already dominant team

This guess ... which is mine also ... meshes perfectly with Seymour's own statement
- made during the pre-season - that this time he was not coming back when he could merely PLAY.
He was coming back when he could "DOMINATE".
