The lefts ideology of never letting a serious crisis go to waste is alive and well and perfectly illustrated in this thread.

Tone deaf Tommy...

The former New England Patriots star was seen grinning ear-to-ear as he left the New York Center for Cosmetic Dentistry around 10:30 a.m.(Friday), shortly after he made his announcement that he was leaving his old team to join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, exclusive pictures taken of the famed quarterback show.

Elective medical and dental procedures will be banned by the end of the day in the Big Apple — so Brady made sure to squeeze in a last visit before the ban went into effect.

After about 30-40 minutes at the dentist, the football superstar was seen walking down a quiet Manhattan street with no mask amid the burgeoning coronavirus crisis before he entered a waiting SUV, the snaps show.

Why in the world would he wear a mask?
The only people who should be wearing
a mask in public are those who are sick.

Yeah, he's really not paying attention IMO. He's worrying about his brand and bs. I am tempted to unfollw him on IG only because I see his chit and I mutter to myself "I could care less about TB12 and plyability."

I honestly don’t understand this at all. Why don’t you put your big boy pants on and share with the room why you think the federal government’s response has been capable and competent and worthy of praise?

The ‘15 to zero’ cases bit was where I knew it was entirely unchecked. It was a outbreak response akin to our 09 playoff loss to the Ravens. And here we are. Preparing some Americans to have last rights read via teleconference with our loved ones in quarantine.

I wish I'd said that lol.

You call that a rant? Now I feel bad...

The litmus test is how well you think Trump handled the initial response. The hoax crap is just icing on the cake.

The good news for everyone is that we are responding much better now.

I am starting to think he's withholding aid at this point in the pandemic so that he can direct it to more favored regions later in the pandemic. Trump's Holodomor (Ukraine's man-made genocidal famine).

The wordsmith doesn’t know what he is trying to say half the time. That’s why he’s got an arsenal of one liners to get the crowd back into it when he takes something too far down a dead ended one way.

Okay, here's my thing: Whatever you want to say, decide ahead of time, and say it. This is not the effing borough chamber of commerce, what you say to your fans will make news. You're the president. You have to say what you mean, or don't complain when the most likely explanation of your empty referent is unflattering.

Live by the riff, die by the riff. If what you actually said looks for all the world like you mean the virus is a hoax, it's on you to start speaking clearly. Either riff better or use prepared remarks. No other pol gets away with this ****. Of course people are going to report what he said: "This is their new hoax." And despite the word-parsing, everything he did and said from that period, including the rally itself, screamed minimization and denial.

Its also pathetic that the smoke screen of ‘democratic hoax’ is actually relevant to conversation. ‘Trump said there would be push back on this, must be part of the democratic hoax.’ Sure Trump wasn’t referencing the virus itself, but giving the base a defense point for the inept response. It has gone miles above the heads of both sides unfortunately. It shouldn’t be a part of any conversation because it distracts from what the real issue is.

I have coronary artery disease. I didn't until I had a heart attack, they stented me, and they told me about all my blockages. I'm in my 50s. My guess is a bunch of you have it too. I also had obesity. Go check the weight/height chart for your status . 1 in 3 Americans does. (Italy could also be including "underweight" and "overweight" in its "other illness" stats.)

High blood pressure? Got a cold? A headache? Bleed every 28 days? Take me to an Italian morgue when I die, disregard everything else here, and they'd be able to catalogue any number of bumps & bruises. My cat scratched me, that's a wound in the process of healing.

I'm surprised at that 99% number, and it looks to me like some borderline propaganda. If any of you guys can think back through your med. history and find nothing, you can take comfort in it, and I don't begrudge that to anybody. Hell, if it's what it looks like, it's good news, if not for me then for the younguns. I'm good with that. But I also heard this a.m. that the majority of NY deaths were 18-49 YO, which, while it doesn't speak to comorbidities, does sort of indicate that happy talk about anybody being invulnerable is just that.

I think it’s fair to say there are a great many leaders, Democrat and Republican, who would have handled this better. Not about ideology but competence. Hell, even if Trump just shut up and disappeared and let Pence talk it’d go a long way.

Like how Obama and Fauci handled H1N1 jack?
:D

Snopes does not lean left. Statement of fact. .

Evidence would show otherwise

Did a Georgia Lawmaker Claim a Chick-fil-A Employee Told Her to Go Back to Her Country?

fact checked a satirical article about this story instead of fact checking her when she was clearly lying and changed/backtracked her story. She appeared to be the aggressor not only in the publix store footage but also at the press conference

Does an Image Show Ocasio-Cortez Fake-Crying at a Migrant Camp?

Typical moving the goal posts by snopes. Pretty sure nobody was saying she wasn’t actually at a detention center. Point was that the pictures were clearly staged as nobody could see what the hell she was reacting too in the pictures. And we know it wasn’t children she was reacting to because the photographer admitted it. And clearer angles show it what looked to be a parking lot of some kind at the facility.

This doesn’t mean all snopes facts checks are bad. They just pick and choose what they fact check, and as I said, move the goal posts

How they hangin' Jete fan? Are you in NY or NJ these days? My son and his beautiful wife were in the Big Apple last weekend and NY still hadn't closed down the schools. WTF?!?

Oh please. That is an ideology not exclusive to one side of the political spectrum. Don’t embarrass yourself any further.

People are losing jobs and dying but the dandy Tommy needs his teeth whitened above all else.

Dandy Teej is focused on Tommy's teeth while guarding his fourteen year supply of TP.

Actually you did say that. "It's just the flu" overwhelms hospitals and subsequently people who would have otherwise lived die.

It is just the Flu, perhaps more infectious or perhaps more deadly yo old people. We will know when the data is assembled after this ends. H1N1 13,000 dead 60,000,000 infected.

yearly flu burden, note this data deson't included those infected but who are non symptomatic, also note than many get a Flu shot and won't show up here. What distinguishes coronavirus and H1N1 from yearly Flu's is the lack of a vaccine.

Burden of Influenza

Which country’s response falls under that category? Name one.

They ain't hangin' anywhere. Got those suckers wrapped up in Saran Wrap. Gotta keep the boys safe.

Need to repopulate the world with Jets fans after this.

I'm in Jersey. Hope your son and wife are out of there now.

Most schools were shutdown last week, but suppose there were some exceptions.

Huh? Taiwan ?
The country which, as of two days ago, reported a spike in its number of cases? And you’re comparing Taiwan to the US? Come on, now.

Dude who wants Snopes to be leftist, this is a Coronavirus thread and life would already be short even without coronavirus. I'm familiar w/the landscape of fact-checkers/news sources/etc., so just take that show on the road.

As a matter of fact, it is enough. Keeping infected people away is the ONLY thing that prevents the spread. Testing itself doesn’t prevent the spread unless it’s accompanied by a change in behavior. Plenty of people just do whatever they want.

Bingo. And there are still good reasons for testing, but the amount of impact we can get with containment decreases every passing day. We do have 1/4 of the country or so on lockdown, i.e., (we HOPE) not traveling elsewhere with it. That's a big chunk. I dont know what is happening/would happen when a "curfew breaker" is encountered. What are they gonna do, put em in jail? They're fixin' to empty the jails out...

But the time has passed where we could find that 1 isolated case, those 2 cases, those 10 cases, finding everybody they could have infected, pouncing on em and testing em... there were half-arsed attempts at some of this, but hella weak. Lots of keystone cops stories. So we went from a handful not to zero, because miracles, but to tens of thousands, because, science.

That said, truth is, people look to law for guidance, corny as it sounds, especially now. Many will -- for want of a better term -- conform. Hell, they'll shock co-subjects in an experiment if the man in the labcoat says to (actually, now, it would just be the guy in the labcoat permitting us to. We're meaner.)

Agree completely.

I think it was Dr Brilliant in Wired magazine who suggested those who are/have immunity to C19 are researched, wear bracelets, etc.

God, how great is it that that guy's name is Dr. Brilliant? When this is all over he has to be a new supervillain in the Austin Powers franchise, and bonus, he should play himself.

Like how Obama and Fauci handled H1N1 jack?
:D

FACT CHECK: Trump's Accusations About The Obama Administration And Swine Flu

The agency said the first case was reported on April 15, 2009, and the government declared H1N1 a public health emergency on the April 26. The first test to detect the new virus was approved by the FDA two days later. Shipments of the new CDC test began May 1.

God bless your heart, 13, you just keep trying :D

It doesn’t help that masks that usually cost $0.58 now cost $7.00 or more. I believe that’s called price gouging.

The Defense Production Act would make the cost of a mask, $0.00

It's basically taking over factories and ordering them to mass produce items needed to safeguard national security, in a time of dire emergency.

You literally cannot find a worse crisis in American history than this one, where in a worst case scenario, we'll lose more people than in all of the wars that this country has ever fought.

So why hasn't he invoked it?

I don't want an answer from you or anyone. There isn't one. There's no explanation, no excuse whatsoever.
