The ‘15 to zero’ cases bit was where I knew it was entirely unchecked. It was a outbreak response akin to our 09 playoff loss to the Ravens. And here we are. Preparing some Americans to have last rights read via teleconference with our loved ones in quarantine.
I wish I'd said that lol.
You call that a rant? Now I feel bad...
The litmus test is how well you think Trump handled the initial response. The hoax crap is just icing on the cake.
The good news for everyone is that we are responding much better now.
I am starting to think he's withholding aid at this point in the pandemic so that he can direct it to more favored regions later in the pandemic. Trump's Holodomor (Ukraine's man-made genocidal famine).
The wordsmith doesn’t know what he is trying to say half the time. That’s why he’s got an arsenal of one liners to get the crowd back into it when he takes something too far down a dead ended one way.
Okay, here's my thing: Whatever you want to say, decide ahead of time, and say it. This is not the effing borough chamber of commerce, what you say to your fans will make news. You're the president. You have to say what you mean, or don't complain when the most likely explanation of your empty referent is unflattering.
Live by the riff, die by the riff. If what you actually said looks for all the world like you mean the virus is a hoax, it's on you to start speaking clearly. Either riff better or use prepared remarks. No other pol gets away with this ****. Of
course people are going to report what he said: "This is their new hoax." And despite the word-parsing, everything he did and said from that period, including the rally itself, screamed minimization and denial.
Its also pathetic that the smoke screen of ‘democratic hoax’ is actually relevant to conversation. ‘Trump said there would be push back on this, must be part of the democratic hoax.’ Sure Trump wasn’t referencing the virus itself, but giving the base a defense point for the inept response. It has gone miles above the heads of both sides unfortunately. It shouldn’t be a part of any conversation because it distracts from what the real issue is.

I have coronary artery disease. I didn't until I had a heart attack, they stented me, and they told me about all my blockages. I'm in my 50s. My guess is a bunch of you have it too. I also had obesity. Go check the weight/height chart for your status . 1 in 3 Americans does. (Italy could also be including "underweight" and "overweight" in its "other illness" stats.)
High blood pressure? Got a cold? A headache? Bleed every 28 days? Take me to an Italian morgue when I die, disregard everything else here, and they'd be able to catalogue any number of bumps & bruises. My cat scratched me, that's a wound in the process of healing.
I'm surprised at that 99% number, and it looks to me like some borderline propaganda. If any of you guys can think back through your med. history and find nothing, you can take comfort in it, and I don't begrudge that to anybody. Hell, if it's what it looks like, it's good news, if not for me then for the younguns. I'm good with that. But I also heard this a.m. that the majority of NY deaths were 18-49 YO, which, while it doesn't speak to comorbidities, does sort of indicate that happy talk about anybody being invulnerable is just that.
