The tricky narrative that seems to have some talking heads animated and whining...

Does it matter to you as a fan ? The team decided not to resign at a certain price... Or Brady decided on his own to leave for more money.? Like .. who is responsible for the split?

It's both. Irreconcilable differences in a situation where both parties had good reasons for their stances.

Some relationships end because both sides just simply want something different. We're just predisposed to try to paint one side as the crazy ex.

I don’t think Belichick wanted Brady for the past three years.

and if this team gave their 43 year old QB 30 per they’d have to cut roster rather than improve it. It doesn’t work for them in any way.

Brady wanted out. He knew the Pats couldn’t get him what he wanted. There were way too many holes on offense which some fans on here are still delusional about.

BB could have kept him by locking him in for two years with team option for three at near market rates in 2018, but didn't.

BB decided he wasn't going to pay what Brady wanted to lock him in.

Brady decided over time that he wanted the big contract and a new opportunity more than wanting to stay with the Patriots.

Both are "responsible" for this ending, but in the end it's just a difference in opinion on valuation.

It doesn’t matter. He’s gone and everyone is saying the right things to make it seem amicable and save face. It’s not worth looking for drama

BB held his line in negotiations. Brady didn't like the contract offer. He declined.

It's the cost of doing business with hard line negotiating tactics. Guys get ticked, insulted, whatever and leave.

It's the way things have been done in New England for twenty years now. Both BBs stance and Brady's decision is just another example.

It seems the whining narrative is trying to blame the team.. which means they were not forcing the issue to resign, but if Brady takes the money then it follows that he wanted that... It's tricky but it seems Brady's free choice.

The Kraft bit about he would have been signed if Brady chose that is incomplete... Hey Kraft are you saying you would pay 30mil? Um , not so much.

It's both, but it doesn't matter.

IMO, it had more to do with giving Brady weapons.

I think that if we had gotten Hopkins or Diggs...maybe Brady would have resigned here.

Evans and Godwin are gonna make life easier for Brady, IMO.

This. No way in hell Brady was going to play for the Pats once Hopkins and Diggs were taken off the table. That offense was cringeworthy and wouldn’t be any better this year even with Brady.

Well the 43 yr old QB is gone. Why are they trading away players? I don't see an improved team today.

Who'd they trade away?

Edit: Whoops..just saw the Harmon news

It's both. It's like a divorce between a long-married couple after the last kid is out of the house. They both realized they were tired of each other.

This is the poll we needed.

Another team was providing him with more money and a serious chance to win another Super Bowl before riding into the sunset. The Patriots did not offer him that. They offered him the likes of Ryan Izzo and Philip Dorsett.

Every time I see your avatar, I remember Bill Lee saying before game 7, "Its a full moon, we have a shot."

(AP News Mar 18 06:45)
Three Waste Management garbage trucks were seen entering Gillette Stadium and Patriots Place early this morning. Large crews were spotted removing various pieces of equipment including massage tables, vibro-rub machines, cryogenic pods, as well as cases of concussion water and exotic oils plus stacks of foam pads, medicine balls, and pliability bands. Dressed in a hooded sweatshirt, the apparent supervisor of the operation was spotted standing on top of one of the behemoth vehicles urinating on it contents as they were being compacted on site.
