When are these STUPID F*CKS in the administration going to REALIZE that the only way to get this economic crash addressed is bring some damn leadership competency to fighting the virus and assuage fear?! Under "tremendous control" my ass. No minuscule interest rate cut or talk of a payroll tax cut will help jack shyt. It's a damn Chinese fire drill.
The genie's out of the bottle. The numbers are going up and the little panic we've seen with hording and everything closing is nothing compared to whats coming.

We shouldn't be surprised by any of this crap with an insane person in charge frivolously firing every capable administrator or making them uncomfortable to the point of quitting. Seriously, before things melt down completely I want the military to intervene and remove that clown.
Insanity to call for a military coup as much as I think he is dreadful. You want to put the military in charge and set such a precedent? You don’t come back from that.

You give the green light for military to intervene into politics and decide to remove elected officials on their whim which would be the death of democracy. No thanks.

We had meetings with 4 County Commissioners today before a zoning public hearing on the 26th. They all asked we have a conference call instead of meetings. This is in line with your remote work comments above.

Investing in Zoom may not be a bad idea.

The Pentagon is refusing to allow telework and forcing everyone to come in to an office building of 25,000. It's absurd.

“We wanted the cure from Germany, exclusive deal, they didn’t want to give it to us. Their country has a socialist leader, filled with terrible, terrible people. The Nazis, you remember the Nazis, the Nazis well their grandchildren, the Nazi grandchildren think we need to die. We showed them once, invasion of Normandy - I was born shortly after but the Germans are bad, real bad. Socialist too.”
Do you have a source for that quote? All I find are stories about how Trump tried to buy the exclusive rights to the vaccine (which is bad enough on its own).

The cabinet should invoke the 25th Amendment on the grounds that Trump is clearly incapable of functioning as president in the current situation. Pence sucks too, but he'll be better. (Plus, he knows the Trump base doesn't give a bleep about him either way so he might actually do the right thing instead of pandering to the base.)

I think he's parodying how he thinks Trump's internal monologue went.

The Commander-in-Chief could fix that, you know, if he had a clue about anything.

You're right, I wasn't completely serious about that. Just wishing we had a chance for true leadership to rear its head in this crisis.

Well, as long as you weren't completely serious... o_O

Freezing is not the same thing as cutting.

To the rightful recipient of the Social Security, both are the same.

S/he does not get the full value of their money.

To deny someone the money they put in, over the years, is a betrayal.

They didn't go to Cabelas this weekend and don't have enough ammo. They can only do a 1/2 coup.

Correct, which is why I said there was a lot of red tape involved in this. American companies didn't get permission from the FDA to go ahead and use their test kits. The government cannot do this on its own and needs help from corporate America. They finally realized it.

Geezus H Krist.

Presidents have scissors.

This one used them to change the rules on spending for a border wall, ffs. You're twisting yourself in knots to save cognitive dissonance. Just stop.

I'm in the U.S. I cancelled a trip home at the weekend. I could say a lot but it would be political and, well ... if you've nothing good to say, say nothing.
Have at it, you'll feel better. Plus it would be interesting to know your perspective.

People whining about Trump and the leadership? Newsflash! It’s the government. And yet a people look towards the government to solve every problem or be in charge of freakin healthcare. They are basically inept no matter who is in charge so it isn’t a Trump thing. It’s a politics thing.

Private sector with some government oversight against gouging or fixing is the only way to go.

Wholly agree. I despised Obama with a passion for a multitude of reasons. However, there were times he did the right thing IMO, and I had zero problem stating it when he did.

Trump this time has really pissed me off. He really has. Too slow to close the borders and he seems to think it really isn’t a big deal and that has an effect. Also, the tests are pretty worthless because people are contagious before showing symptoms. By the time you get tested it is too late for the people around you. However they keep talking about it and people think the tests are the salvation. They aren’t. Locking down cities is the only way.

That however creates lethal issues that I see as inevitable. Roving teams of bandits looking for targets. Oh and FYI, if there are grocery/sams/costcos open for business, watch your 6. Watch for suspicious cars in the lots, and then watch for a vehicle trailing you. If you suspect, take some turns on sidestreets. If the car continues to follow, do not go home. I repeat, do not go home. Find a police station or a checkpoint. Grab the plate number if you can. The play is, find someone with some loot (food/water etc) follow them home then attack and steal. Maybe worse.

Stay frosty.

Tests are everything in pandemic response Rule 1: Identify. Rule 2: Isolate.

Particularly in a free, mobile society, you have to get testing WAY ahead of the curve.

Test only go so far. You can get a test, pass fine, then contract the minute you leave but not know it. Yes they can help, but they aren’t a vaccine. Or a cure.

The dude who wants a coup disagrees. Of course he does. Also, does not understand how all governments are not to be trusted fully and are behemoths that would eat themselves if they could.
