The Tom Brady rumor thread

Manning was 36 when he went to Denver. 8 years younger.

If you wanna say Brady doesnt have anything left in the tank, say it.

Because age is irrelevant.

Trent Brown wants the Raiders to sign Brady. That will awkward for him and Carr if they don’t.

Ok so now I’m honestly feeling bad for Brady.....He ALWAYS “TOOK THE HOMETOWN DISCOUNT” to enable Patriots and BB to sign additional players or keep current players on roster. And I get that he NOW seems to have NO LEVERAGE and all of these teams are dropping out for him.....and YES he would have been much better off F’ing the Pats and leaving for a huge contract with another YEARS AGO when he controlled all the leverage....but now at this state of his career his market is limited....so I would say to Mr Kraft....DO THE RIGHT THING.....Sign Brady to 2 years 60 million..they can figure out how to configure it......and then go with him as far as you can.....if he gets shaky get Stid in there.....just give him the respect and financial allowance that he deserves for everything he has done to revive this franchise and literally carry the franchise on his back for 20 YEARS!!! And win 6 Super Bowls and compete in several others!! I was a bit conflicted on this considering I have good business background....but am changing opinion now.....come on Bob.....pay the man and then......BB.....draft well!!!! GO PATS

If Tom Brady becomes a buccaneer I’m just going to die

what an absolutely terrible way to end the GOAT career

Oh he has stuff left just not enough to go to a new team. And age most definitely is not irrelevant.

Updated Odds:

New England -200 (67%)
Tampa Bay +180 (31-32%)

Everyone else is +1000 (10%) or lower. (Yes, it adds up to over 100% for the book’s take.)

Its irrelevant if you think he has anything left in the tank.

He should stay but I can understand the lure of those wideouts.

Every time I see her speak, this comes to mind. It’s a bad look for her.

This stuck up b**** has come out and said she’d only date/marry an A-list celebrity. lol.

She’s delusional thinking any A-lister would go for her.
I legit would not even bother with that at last call. And I'm just a semi-successful white collar guy.

The only odds I’m worried about right now is how soon I can find some toilet paper.

kinda glad I never bagged those leaves I raked this year :eek::eek:

The Bucs have 1 more ring than the Pats did before Brady. Obviously Bill and others played a big part, but there's no reason Brady can't change the Buccaneers reputation.

Odds are up he comes back now, they can configure the contract to make it looks better than it is.

Nitpicking, but we got our 1st ring before the Bucs got their only ring.

No one forced Brady to sign any deal. He willingly took those deals so he could win 6 SBs and be the undisputed GOAT. I believe he has made the third most money of any player to play the game - only Eli and Drew are ahead of him so not sure we need to feel bad. I know he would never trade any of those titles for more money. He has said that repeatedly. Now the rubber has met the road as he will be 43 and BB really played this superbly. If Tampa wants him they will overpay and he will be forced to learn Arians system and pray he does not get creamed all season long. I was not confident at all that the Pats could resign but I think the chances just increased dramatically especially with the CBA getting approved.

As I said before, my guess:

3 years, 70M, 51M guaranteed signing bonus.

Structure:

2020: Brady takes home 58 million (51m bonus plus 7m salary). Cap number is: 30.75M (6.75 old bonus, 17m new prorated bonus, and 7m salary)

2021: Brady takes home 6 million in salary. Cap number is: 29.75M (same as above but 1M less)

2022: Brady takes home 6 million in salary. Cap number is: 23M (Prorated 17m bonus and 6m salary)

I think it lines up perfectly with the last 3 years of Stidham's rookie deal. If JS beats out Brady in 2021/2022 for the job...it won't hurt our cap and we can resign JS in 2023 for big money.

Also, it allows Brady to take home 64M the first two years of the deal...which is competitive vs. whatever the Bucs/Chargers/Raiders would offer.

Thanks Curran...care to address that oddsmakers have now moved him to -200 to return to New England, which is the highest chance to return in weeks? With Tennessee out, Tampa Bay is the new second most likely at +400, followed by SF at +600, LA Chargers +650, and Oakland +900.

You’re welcome for the actual likelihood from oddsmakers whose livelihood rests on actual objectivity instead of beat reporters whose livelihood rests on skewering the truth.

C'mon man. Curran is as dialed in as anyone has been in our organization since the days when Borges was basically Bledsoe's mouthpiece. Are you really going to invoke oddsmakers over a guy who is almost certainly getting 1st or 2nd hand info from the Brady camp?

Maybe you're not normally guilty of it but it will never cease to amaze me how many adults on this forum go right for the fake news button because they don't like what a report says.

Until signatures are on the dotted line, who knows what will happen but I think it is safe to say that Curran is accurately representing the current disposition of the Brady camp.
