BB's silliness????? That comment isn't going to do much for your credibility. His "silliness" over the last 20 years has allowed this team to remain competitive year in an year out.

BTW- the fact remains that a healthy Edelman and Sanu and Harry (with another year under his belt, and our FB's back, plus a fully healthy set of OLmen like Andrews, Cajuste, and Frodo, will be a big upgrade to our offensive weapons for next year. We don't have to give up big draft, trade, or cap assets to have that happen. Those are assets that would be better used on the OL (Thuney) and the TE position.

That being said, I've always liked Robby Anderson. ;)

Robbie Anderson is someone who could do well in our offense.

Don't think Bill is paying $12M a year for this guy (his "market value"a to sport Trac)...I love him at 7-9M though...

Cheaping out on receivers really worked well last year.

There's not much cap space for hefty contracts...we're likely to go cheap again. in all honesty, we could use another receiver and TE. With Edelman, Harry, Sanu, new WR, and new TE, the offense could be back again, assuming Brady re-signs.

$10-12m is not a hefty contract for a good receiver, though. This is something people miss with the Mohamed Sanu contract and because Edelman has been vastly underpaid - receivers are expensive, and reliable ones at a value aren't just floating around out there. We saw what signing cheap garbage and throwing it at the wall did last year; the Inmans and Harrises and Thomases and so on were all gone by week one and (ignoring lucking into Brown and the aftermath) the result was a desperation deal for Sanu at midseason.

In a Evans-Goodwin-AB offense what CB would defend AB

Look for the one with tears in his eyes just before game time. That'll be the guy.

I don't understand any of the Brady to 49ers rumors. Theres probably almost no chance that happens barring JG tearing acl. Brady is 43. JG under 30. Why trade your potential future away?

Some people think The Niners would value the picks they would get plus Brady as opposed to Jimmy G long term

Not saying I’m pushing this narrative, but - to offer a reason - what if SF believes it WILL win the trophy w Brady next season and they WON’T ever win with Jimmy ? Almost every team would say “I want a real chance at the SB vs a chance in the future”.

I’m with you : SF would be better off sticking with JG. However, they might see it differently.

Only reasons this is coming up as being entertained is he had a very mediocre playoff run and Super Bowl and if he is traded/cut his residual cap hit is only $4m.

If he had a great SB and a big dead cap # we aren't even talking about this.

If he had just the big dead cap # we still aren't talking about it.

Dumping a 27 year old Jimmy for a 43 year old Tom is dumb.

I’m sure you are open to the possibility of an NFL GM being dumb. I’d go as far as “I’m confident over half of League GMs are dumb”.

As long as it's not BB- absolutely.
