Brady wanted to be a FA so he had the option to leave.

Nothing anyone can do.

Im of the opinion that both BB and Brady want to try and succeed apart from each other. For Brady and BB succeeding by definition is a Super Bowl championship. We get too caught up in the belief that only Tom Brady can win a Super Bowl as the Pats QB. Steve Young won a Super Bowl with SF and a different HC. The Cowboys, Steelers, Ravens, Broncos, Giants, Redskins, Raiders and Chiefs after 50 years all have won Super Bowls with different QBs,

Its like an infatuation over that beautiful woman whom you think is the only one in the whole world. When she is not. Or, that hot guy in Tunescribes and Clonerys case.

The nature of the NFL and life for that matter is constant change. NE will win a Super Bowl again should Brady leave.

What was the quote?
“Not looking good.” With three weeks left before free agency and only maybe a few hours needed to figure things out once they start talking, that’s excessive to the point where it only comes from an agent trying to start talks now.

This guy continues to be a clown. He recently posted a no comment email from Yee a few years ago as evidence that they communicate with each other.

LMAO! So true.

If he signs Brady, I wonder if judge would trade Jones to us as a parting gift?

It's a good thought but Gettleman is the guy who calls the shots for that franchise. I'm having a difficult time seeing how Brady and Jones could fit on the same team. If they sign Brady for a 2-3 year deal, are they just going to keep their future franchise QB on the bench? Does it make sense to trade Jones after picking him so high in the draft last year? The Tennessee job makes much more sense for Brady with Mariota coming here.

Does this really mean much? I guess Yee may want to put the pressure on...?

Yee could be trying to get the Patriots to talk. But it's not like it's his first time negotiating with them. Most likely, this is either a made up or embellished quote from someone.

I just ignore all the Brady reports, nobody knows anything. If he's not signed by March 16th, then you can pretty much say goodbye to Brady. I still feel, deep down, Brady will be a Patriot this year, but that's just the optimist in me.

I'm curious what the numbering means - for example is #1 the most likely, most aggressive, best fit, etc.

I have been saying he is gone for months. My guess is that last year was the straw the broke the camels back when BB surrounded him with such a bad core of receives to the point where you have to imagine that Brady longed for the days of Doug Gabriel and Reche Caldwell.

Obviously he had a historic run here but the at age 43 when the season start it is time to move on from him anyway.

So does that mean Tennessee will have a Tannehill/Brady combo?

I don't know...their places in history are cemented already.

This strategy would be way riskier for Brady than BB, obviously, since Brady's got what? Two, maybe three years to do it?

Winning a SB is hard, damned hard. I can't see where he'd go to make that team a heavy favorite, or even a favorite, for that matter, with the emergence of Mahomes and others.

On the flip side, the Pats were 12-4 with a terrible offense last year, and it certainly won't get better without Brady. But BB has the time to rebuild. Brady's window is tiny.

This isn't a Peyton going to the Broncos scenario. Back then, there were only a handful of capable QBs. There are more now, and growing in systems built around them. The days of Manning/Brady are over.
