Harrison Bryant is a converted O-lineman high school prospect who lost weight to become a TE and is a good blocker for his size because of proper technique. He also showed dynamic route-running ability and production to be a valuable asset for our offense.

Can block as well, which will bode well for him in the big leagues. Played at OT in High School, before losing weight to be a TE

What separates Bryant from the rest of the nation's tight ends, however, is his prowess in the other facets of play. There were 171 tight ends who logged at least 30 snaps in pass protection this season, and Bryant ranked 11th in pass-blocking grade, not allowing a single quarterback pressure on his 34 snaps. In the run game, he was just as dominant, grading out as the eighth-best player among all tight ends in the country with at least 150 run-blocking snaps.

I agree that these are/hopefully Belichick's top 5 as far as TEs. HOPEFULLY he takes one of them, or 2 of them. I really think Albert O is going to be the best out of all of the 2020 TE Draft class. He had a horrible QB situation THIS year, but the year before with Drew Lock, he was a beast !

There are probably 7-8 TEs I rather have over Moss. Listed below in no particular order.

1) Cole Kmet
2) Albert Okwuebunam
3) Adam Trautman
4) Jared Pinkney
5) Colby Parkinson
6) Hunter Bryant
7) Brycen Hopkins
8) Harrison Bryant


Unfortunately, there may be a run on TEs once the run on WRs slows down. I'd be happy with any of the 8 listed above OR Moss. As long as we get one of them. I'd even be happy with Jacob Breeland from Oregon, so that's 10 TEs I really like.

UCLA TE Devin Asiasi is really an intriguing late-round prospect worth watching for in the draft. At 6-3, 279lb, he's an additional lineman, and worthy Dwayne Allen replacement, capable of opening up running lanes with a surprising fluid movement running routes for a man his size.

If he runs anything in the 4.8s 40-yds range, I think he is worth a 5th-6th round pick as a developmental prospect.

Agree with your list, the more I see about this draft class the more I like it.. Not spectacular like the WR, but some high floor guys.
Albert O would be a great addition for a comp 3rd or a 4th..
I think kmet will be overdrafted

Are we ruling out a double dip at the position? Any late round lottery type? Any great pure blocking TEs that may be late round / UDFA potentials?

Based on my very inexperienced review/research it seems like all the top 10 TEs are great at one and meh at the other (blocking / receiving).

Kmet looks great but I get the Troy Niklas vibe from him.

Albert O looks like Ebron 2.0

Again I could be 100% wrong..very early on research.

Arizona are an interesting one just due to the scheme they run, I could seem them going after Hunter Bryant in the draft.

Ben Ellefson is some I really like. Very good blocker. Knows his role and likes contributing that way. Likes contact. Has some pop in his hands. Classic stalk blocker. Very smooth strides nothing mechanical abt his movements. Loves bullying smaller guys and has no problem lowering his pads for extra yards.

4th-5th but I might go late 3rd if I were hard up.
Haven't heard his name much so I might be higher on him than others? I think he has a chance to be complete TE. Big time blocker for the 4th-5th rank NDSU at almost 300 ypg. Seems like a smart guy. Both on & off the field. Already graduated. Honer roll & other academic achievements since high school. Played both O & D in hs. Think he'd fit in here.

One guy to think about, Cheyenne O'Grady from Arkansas. Though he had many personal issues and was suspended 3 times. Belichick may want to stay away from suspended TEs considering past history. But if he slides through the draft, might be worth looking at as an UDFA. Kid is ridiculously talented, and a beast to tackle.
