3 guesses on who the CEO of The Kraft Group is. I’ll give you a hint - don’t go down the Ben Volin path, it’s not Kraft foods....

It's unlikely the Pats ever relocate. It's just side talk. But theoretically, couldn't Kraft up and leave without any pushback from the NE area? He owns the stadium and so forth.

So, in theory, Kraft's going to screw over Kraft?

Yes, he could up and leave after 2026 under the current terms. He also owned Foxboro stadium prior to this whose lease expired in 2001 and he could have moved then, but didn’t despite the Hartford flirtation.

Do you really think that Kraft is going to move the team due short-term lower fan support when Brady leaves? Look at the history of franchise movements in the 3 major sports over the last 50 years. Despite various cover stories, not a single instance was due to lack of fan support. It’s always been about getting sweetheart stadium deals. Kraft already has that; why would he move?

I guess I worry about crazy stuff. Worry wart. My apologies.

2026 is meaningless. He could leave next year if he wanted to. He controls the team and he controls the stadium. If he wanted to move next year he would order the team to ask for the lease to be cancelled and then order The Kraft Group to cancel the lease.

Sure, there are plenty of valid legal and tax reasons to have a formal lease in the place between the team and the stadium, and so there is one even though at a more abstract level it's meaningless. But since the same person controls both entities the lease isn't really binding since Kraft could just agree with himself to rewrite or cancel the lease.

This all sounds fine and good but wouldn’t these improved weapons be tied to Brady taking a team friendly deal? Asking for top of the market qb money will make it harder to get this added pieces for the offense.

Brady has been taking a team friendly contract/salary for most of his career. He won't change. He wants to win more than being the highest paid.

The 30M is probably from his agent. He gets a cut so why not make a number up.

Yes. I just think that there's a difference between guys you want and guys you actively push for. And, while Brady could surprise me, I don't see him pushing for AB if the Patriots get some other legitimate WR talent.

Can you name the WR that is possible to get who is a number 1 WR or a legitimate WR talent as you say?

Sign AB to the vet minimum for 2 years and Amendola that’s 2 WR at the cheapest price one being elite but both Brady trusts

You really think Brown strikes you as the type of guy that would take vet minimum? You also tacked on a 2nd year at vet minimum which is as insane as Brown himself.

Paying Brady anywhere near 30 Mill to keep him and not improve anything around him with a near guarantee of a mediocre season is like feeding a toothless man some corn on the cob - stupid

If he can't accept a decent wage at 42 to keep the team competitive then all I can say is Tom its nice knowing you and we appreciate all you've done for 2 decades and we love you but see ya later.

he doesn’t want or will ask for that money

he’ll be suspended 4 games I think and is begging to play with Brady. Do you think teams are gonna throw money at him? He’s not getting paid his first year back will be for peanuts

if Tom wants manageable money then fine, get him back with plenty of spending power to get him a back and 2 receivers/tight end - if he comes close to crippling the cap then better off letting the man go elsewhere, sign a vet on the low to teach the next young QB on this team and take a year or two for him to develop - sometimes you have to sacrifice a year or two for the good of the future but if Tom can get accept a reasonable amount and not turn away then I would love for him to return another season.

what has he done all his career get manageable money but all of a sudden when he’s 42 he wants something, not happening. I knew it was bull **** before they reported he’d settle for less by getting him weapons. He doesn’t wanna go out there with the bull **** he had to throw too last year

if Tom wants big money and top receivers he must go to a team that has a ton of cap room and receivers to boot - New England is not in that type of situation this year

there’s a difference between top receivers and the garbage we had here last year I can’t think of a worse receiving core including TE. Definitely bottom 3 if you can name two worse teams. Hell a simple trade for Golden Tate and bringing in Greg Olsen is worlds better than last year. That’s not even asking for a top money WR

I've read your post over and over. I've read it more than a dozen times. On what planet does Brady taking the same kind of contract as other top QBs magically screw over the Patriots, and make them non-competitive?

It's not planet Earth, so I'm curious.

its the cap issue more than what the amount is - if there isn't a lot of room left to pay others it will pretty much give you the same type of offense last year since you wont be able to afford some of the top talent in FA ,gotta pay the draftees as well - I haven't gone deep in depth of the cap allotment but I know its not the best - you simply can't pay a man so much that it cripples the rest of the roster - even if its for the G.O.A.T.

with that being said,Brady was underpaid for years for the better of the team and I can understand he wants his value but now hes 42 so he needs better players to throw to then what he has now and since Belichick's clearest weak spot in drafting from the past is top round wide receivers,I have concerns of hitting the jackpot on one this year.

While we can give Harry another season to see what he can do,one wonders what if we took Metcalf or Brown last April of what might have been.

Olsen is as good as gone to the Redskins - he wants to play for his coach

Hooper is going to want much more than the team will likely offer
