You have it right on both accounts.

For his two Super Bowl MVPs, he gets the prize of.....two Super Bowl MVPs. He is fortunate enough to get those, averaging 19 ppg in the two legacy games that put him in then Hall discussion. That is, without those two MVPs, it’s an absolutely laughable assertion that he’s a Hall if Famer.

So you don’t need to double dip. He has his two championships, which are already pretty questionable, in terms of how responsible he was for them, and now he also gets into the Hall of Fame for doing nothing other than winning those games?

Here is why I would NEVER consider him. The Hall of Fame is for elite players.

Eli was never even a great player. He was never all-pro, just a 4x pro bowler, average at best QBs rating, and .500 career record.

He never won a playoff game outside of 2007 and 2011. 0-4.

Clutch postseason reputation is just due to a small sample size that never grew because he wasn’t good enough to keep making it to the postseason. If you look at the number of comebacks he has in his career in the regular season, they reflect an average QB who often put up average points and was in close games often. And won an average percentage of games in the fourth quarter, while losing an average number of games.

Keep in mind all of these “volume stats” will not be top 10 in five years. He will get passed by a lot of players who were much better quarterbacks.

New York

Sums it up. If he played in any other city in the country, he'd have no shot.

So long, you extremely pesky son of a b!tch.

Zero chance he gets into the hall of fame.

Dude has a losing record people.

Big Ben, Rivers, and Brees for the most part of their careers have had good offensive lines. Maybe Rivers to a lesser degree but when the Chargers addressed their line issues.

most of Eli’s post 30 seasons were completely wasted. Jerry Reese may have 2 Super Bowl rings but he was truly a god awful GM. EA was the architect of the first team and Coughlins coaching brilliance covered for a roster that really wasn’t that great in 2011. They had zero running game.

Eli will take a bunch of hate here but there aren’t too many guys that I can say that I saw were tougher than him that played the position. He took a beating in the 11 nfc title game and kept getting back up, just as he always has. He was never a guy that was going to carry a team.

The guy was surrounded with almost no talent in the later stages of his career.

And when he got to the playoffs in 2016 he was dropping dimes which OBJ and shepherd didn’t feel like catching. people forget how good the giant D was that year but they had a trash O line and no back.

Drew Brees had 3 straight losing seasons. No fault of his own. His teams were bad

118-118 regular season record
8-4 playoff record

He has a shot because of 42 & 46, playing in NY and accumulated stats for playing so long. The media honks will of course overlook all his ints.

He should not get in because he is the definition of slightly below average.

The way the game is played today (so many flags on the defense), I keep telling people that in ten years the record holders will be quarterbacks who played in those ten years.

Stats just don't compare between decades.

Would have been great if he had turf toe before the Super Bowls.

Only reason he'd get into the HOF is because of his last name. Absolute average garbage at best as a QB. Those defenses and 2 freak catches got him those rings.

I thought he retired years ago.

Goodbye goofy mcgoober. Still can’t believe Ohara with the longest hold in super bowl history, a dropped int, a helmet catch and this goofy qb beat this team.

Crying shame some other deserving players are going to have to wait longer while he takes their spot in the hall. At least when they show his scramble highlight, everyone will get to look at the strangulation hold on Seymour by Ohara to avoid the most ****ing surest sack To end a game there was ever going to be.

Giants fanboys fawning over Eli Manning after spending the year stepping over his dying body in favor of “DaNnY DiMeS” is something else.
