How sad is the Chiefs franchise

We've heard a lot of players mouth off about winning Super Bowls, fans mouthing off about winning Super Bowls, multiple Super Bowls. Let's wait and see. I have little doubt that Mahomes is capable of winning it; I do have doubts about Reid...and I think this window is actually going to shrink a lot the moment Mahomes takes a massive contract, which he will. Right now they have the best QB in football basically playing for free. It will be quite different when they have about $120M to work with rather than $160 to put a supporting cast around Mahomes, and no longer get lottery picks, and have to pay a lot expiring contracts. I have yet to see Mahomes step on the field without having the better array of weapons, not to detract from his greatness, but just to say that there's still a lot to learn about how this guy deals with adversity and huge challenges/handicaps.

All that said, after this postseason, Mahomes is worthy of a lot of praise, and yes, this thread looks pathetic. I'm just glad the Ravens aren't the team advancing. Should be a really exciting Super Bowl.
Ravens were very unlikable. I was not a fan of them. Also, hate Harbaugh. Good coach, but very annoying.

Lol at Patriots fans being “bitter”.

Is it that hard to fathom bitterness about a season squandered. This defense won’t be compiled again. Collins, Van Noy, and potentially many others will move on. What should have been in conversation as the best defense of the decade will become a footnote as we failed to assemble even a half competent offense. Why can’t I be bitter about that? We should have had a bye, and be facing Chiefs at home after they beat Titans in Arrowhead, you know, the passing offense our secondary was built to beat.

I am sorry but every season it’s a new team and a new start. I am bitter about the potential this season and this team could have had. I am still bitter about 2007 as well despite winning 6 others.

I don't think AFC Championship is THAT sad of an achievement... o_O

chiefs will be in cap hell in a couple of years.

Used to be more like that. Now that I’m older and have two daughters and a son, I can’t say I believe winning is worth Hill.

I was also anti-AB and was relieved when he was dumped.

I understand your angle. I love me some winning. Lots and lots of love for it. Pounding your pregnant gf and then your child isn’t worth putting up with for winning. Just my two cents.

Then he should be in jail. If he’s not then he’s eligible for employment. So sayeth the law of the land.

Some things (and people) aren't worth it for the sake of winning. Hill is one of them.

If Pats brought Hill here, all of you will be jumping up and down like giddy schoolgirls. I guarantee it. All this is just posturing. I saw the reaction when Albert Haynesworth and other ilk were brought here. Everyone was ecstatic. Sometimes I find the hypocrisy nauseating.

That conversation ended long before they lost to the titans.

What?!? Why? It was the #1 ranked defense this year. If they delivered a Superbowl, why would the conversation have ended?

Reid has lost to us many times and has been gracious. Good for him and good luck. It's not easy to get to the SB and we've made it look easy

I’ve got nothing against Mahomes or Reid. Congrats to them on their achievements. Good job building a team and surrounding your star QB with enough talent to bring your fans joy and success and happiness. Good for them.

Oh and I am glad we have upstanding gentlemen in our team.

They beat up on bad teams to get those good rankings and every single time they faced a good offense they looked average at best. If not downright bad. Hell, they even looked bad against the dolphins.

If you're just gonna throw out numbers and not actually put any of it in context then sure, I guess you are technically right. I don't think they were anywhere near as good as the stats suggest. They were good, but not historic.

I should sue Ian for how much damage I do to my eyes rolling them at posts like these.

Oh STFU with that crap, you are in no position to condescend. If Hill came here I'd make you eat him. THAT would be nauseating, I guarantee it. Lucky for you the likes of him in a Pats uniform stands a snowball's chance in hell of ever happening.

What did I say? I am not making this stuff up. See below.

Corey Dillon.
THE NFL: Bengals' Dillon arrested on domestic charges

Assault on wife. Domestic charges in 2000, 3 years before joining Pats.

Hero of Pats 2004 campaign and potential Pats HoF candidate and general fan favourite.

Albert Haynesworth

Pats Trade for Haynesworth (merged)

General schoolgirl giddiness about Pats trading for Albert Haynesworth on this very forum. Somehow if you can get through all the "OMG OMG OMG" spam on that thread.

This man took off Gurode's helmet while he was lying on the field and twice stomped on his head (connecting on the second attempt) narrowly missing his eye and causing 30 stitches on the head. A-grade scumbag.

Albert Haynesworth's Antics Are a Never-Ending Distraction

I'm grateful to the Chiefs for a couple of reasons.

For years the NFLers crapped on us AFLers and avoided playing us. After winning the SB in 1969 for the second AFL win in a row, that shut the NFLers up for good.

I also admired the way that Lamar Hunt put his own money on the table to help less wealthy owners like Billy Sullivan. Without his help our team and the AFL probably wouldn't have made it.

For more than half a century I've been a supporter of the Chiefs and most of the other AFC teams in the SB. But now I'm at a crossroads. I simply can't root for a team with bad apples like Suggs and Hill, even against a team from the NFC, a league that I've hated for more than two thirds of my life.

What the heck do I do now?

I’m Torn with who to root for in Super Bowl?
Chiefs and the scum hill and Suggs? Have only won 1 Super Bowl though.
49ers and Jimmy G? Have already won 5 and could tie Pats with 6 wins.

They have the best player. They will be dominant for a while

Lamar Hunt put down his daddy's money to start the Chiefs and the AFL
