Tanguay: Brady “embarrassed” by his compensation, is leaving

I don’t live in Boston so don’t follow any of these guys frequently. I just saw a post about his BS Washington story, then 5 minutes later saw a BS story about Brady....from the same guy! I know Tanguay by name only...probably couldn’t pick him out of a lineup.

It’s weird with shaugnessey. He’s on our sports radio up here in Maine during the pats season, and I like listening to him as a guest contributor. I like hearing what he has to say. I also hate reading his columns. It’s like he’s two different people even when covering the same topic. One is reasonable and informative and the other is snarky and a douchy. It’s weird

I’m embarrassed by Tanguy’s compensation and am refusing to watch NBC Sports Boston whenever he’s on the air.

He really is an attention whore.

I actually emailed nbcsb thanking them for putting him and Trenni on together because now I could avoid them both at the same time by not watching one show...

Tanguay is a hack and just shooting stuff against the wall to see what sticks, but I also think Brady feels monetarily and statuary he is not appreciated enough by all in the Pats org. I think the Krafts left alone will do everything he wants, but the big elephant in the room is the contrarian.

Despite angry emojis and all-cap proclamations, whatever home-town discounts he's taken, he's also had big paydays. Even granting the popular impression that he's always been underpaid (I'd double-check it,) there's still plenty of room to be ticked off at a team that wants you to take .8x instead of .9x. More, actually.

I'm not defending the opposite thesis in either case -- either that he's been better compensated than the rabble accept, or that he is, indeed, unhappy/dissed/embarassed/whatever... but you look like you "know" the whole Brady deal just by the "He always takes a pay cut" story the mediots trade around.

Basically, the latest hot hand to sign a contract re-sets the high water mark. If your contract isn't the most recent one, and/or you're not at the peak, there ya go.

But it's also silly speculation to start saying he's embarrassed by not being rich enough, whatevs. I could make up great scenarios, but it would be me making it up. Now, if the headline is "Brady says he is embarrassed" and there's an account of Brady saying "here is how I feel about THAT," then it's something to worry about.

edit--but with a contract pending, weird statements are in the category of "**** you say with your contract pending," come to think of it. That said, it's more Brady-like to let his agent talk and hang with the family until all is said/done.

Remember when Logan Mankins openly feuded with the team over his contract? That looked way worse than the current Brady situation, and it still ended with a contract extension.

Isn’t it inappropriate for a teacher to make comments like that about a student?
