NFL Rumors: Tom Brady Won’t Take Hometown Discount To Stay With Patriots

Curran was on the radio and said that the Pats took away some of the game planning input from Brady this year, which didn’t set well with Brady and was part of his “I’m just an employee” comments we heard during the season.

That's not good news at all if true. F***.

It makes no sense that Brady's game-plan input would be curtailed this season. Why would the Brady-McD dynamic change whatsoever from season to season? Those are ultimately the two main individuals involved in offensive game-planning it would seem.

Are you sure about that or is your pathologic brady addiction clouding your judgement like so many posters here. So in your opinion, there are (at most) only 7 other QBs whom you would rather have in 2020, after watching all of Brady’s games this year with a totally unbiased eye?

At this point in their respective careers I would take all of these QBs over a 44 year-old Brady:

Jackson
Mahomes
Wilson
Dak
Watson
Brees
Rodgers
Wentz
Stafford
Jimmy G
Ryan
Jones (possibly, knowing the potential for a sophomore slump)
Murray (possibly, same reason)

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!

Stafford, Jones, Murray? Jackson and Dak? Lol.

Do you realize Rodgers had almost as a bad a year statistically as Brady despite having the league’s best offensive line and a stockpile of weapons? Dude is finished.

Brees is who we thought he was. A little man behind the big curtain.

Wentz is playing in a 65-year old body at this point too.

Brady played magnificently in that playoff game...don’t care what the numbers say. He, as usual, was basically perfect doing his job. He can’t control the suck of others.

Brady's a big boy and he's made his choices.
Missing OTA's changed his role on the team slightly ... IMO.

That said ... he has total control at the line of scrimmage.
His calls at the line are invaluable and a huge reason for several of the rings.

I like your takes but ARod doesn't have a stockpile of weapons LOL. He has 2 great weapons though. Mahomes has a stockpile of weapons and so does Drew Brees.

Yes Brady missing OTA’s with a bunch of players who were either injured or released was the real problem lol

Real problem is a stretch and not implied at all.
However if you're the head coach you have to adjust for the message it sends.
To say it was not an issue at all for his role is closing one's eyes.

They have Aaron Jones, Jimmy Graham ($10M), and Davante Adams ($15M). Bakhtiari makes $12M as his left tackle. That’s an expensive set of weapons plus Mr. $35M himself.

It’s laughable how much spend is required for these guys like Brees and Rodgers when they’re supposed to make guys better. This is why these guys almost never win titles.

I wouldn't count an OL as a weapon he's part of the good Oline part of your original statement. Graham is also slow as hell but I'll admit he had a good game yesterday. I agree with the money part. If you look at GB's cap total offense vs defense it has to be the most lopsided % in the league. I don't remember exactly what it was but I know NE is around 50/50 and GB was not even close.

Why would brady take a discount to stay on a sinking ship? He should take a discount to leave.

Sinking ship? If we pay him what he wants it will be a sinking ship.

That's a fair point, wonder if there truly is a relation there and I wouldn't be that surprised if there was. Bill sees Brady less "bought-in" and gives him less of a say as a result. The result is what it is. Bill would likely expect that the consequence there is that Brady either "buys in" more the next year or, if he leaves, his replacement does.

Brady is Brady, of course, but it must be difficult to manage the fact that you're coaching the GOAT while also trying to maintain a culture of everyone doing their share and no one player being bigger than the team. The "DO YOUR JOB" mantra is still alive and well in Foxborough and I suppose it's true that Brady did his job a little less in the offseason. Not to mention - he needed extra rest during practice all year long simply due to age.

I can’t stand rumors or speculation regarding Brady

Sorry. This one pertains to Gisele.

“The Brady suite at Gillette Stadium where (Gisele Bundchen) has been known to watch her husband play football has been cleaned out,” Hill said. “… It would appear to be, by those who are in the know, that it has been cleaned out in way that perhaps it has never has been cleaned out before.”

Report: Tom Brady moved out of Brookline home, cleaned out suite in Gillette Stadium

Wait, just so I'm clear ...

Gisele cleaning out her stadium suite ("perhaps" in a way it has never been cleaned before) - a room she presumably wouldn't use until the 1st week of August ...

is the end-all-be-all confirmation we need that Brady is gone?
