Both Michel and Harris can catch passes out of the backfield. They just aren't used that way enough.

So can White and Rex and Bolden to an extent

To improve our running game? The Pats are in the bottom half of the NFL in rushing yards this year, our leading rusher ranks 17 in the NFL in total yards, which is decent I guess but not elite. Not even close to elite. Michel ran for 18 yards against the Ravens, 45 against the Texans, and 8 against the Chiefs. Not exactly getting it done is it? We have no run-pass balance to speak of, which makes us predictable. We can’t move the ball when the passing game goes awry, which is becoming more common with Brady’s advancing age, our MASH unit receiving corps with butterfingers, and breakdowns in protection. When’s the last time we had a guy get 100 on the ground? Has it even happened once this year? Look at the top teams in the league, the a Ravens, 49ers and Seahawks, they all can run the damn ball and gash you on the ground. Our run game is pedestrian by comparison. And our pass game isn’t that much to speak of either.

I’m talking about an overhaul. Cut the dead weight wherever they think it is and get better more talented backs. They’re out there. We’re gonna need it. 60-40 pass/run ain’t sustainable with these personnel, much less breaking in a new QB in the not so distant future, which is a complete unknown.

I understand you want more production from the running game but the team is without a lot of the pieces that we had last year that made our run game so dominant. The second half of last year the offense essentially ran through Sony Michel and James white when they were breaking off 10 yard runs at a time. They took a step back this year but again we are missing a lot of pieces. I think BB needs to take a long look at the tight end position more than anything. Matt lacosse has brought below average pass catching ability and below average blocking to the offense. The tight ends are not helping the backs at all.

Reading comprehension assistance may be needed.

Think “speedster” was over looked!

In regard to this years impotent running game, I actually think the TE tire fire has been worse than the OL dumpster fire, and am truly puzzled by the intensity of the criticism of Michel.

I second this

The TE group on this team is pretty pathetic, not sure I'd want anyone on this current unit to return next year

As Wynn sheds the rust, the better he (and the OL) look

For a RB, I would seriously look at AJ Dillon out of BC. He is 245, runs well, good blocker and is a decent receiver. He could play at either HB or FB and would probably be available in the middle rounds.

Move helaire to tier 1 or I lose respect for you @BaconGrundleCandy
Don't be a loser. List was done before the year. Take that **** somewhere else. I really didn't ask & my record speaks for itself.

*edit*
Going to leave this hear to remind myself I'm an ******* at times.

I was kidding. I was mostly joking I’ve defended you when you’ve taken heat before.

thought you would remember. My B

This is the stuff right here. You simply can't teach this speed & explosion/acceleration. Guy is a legit home run threat to house it or get you 20+ every 10/15 times he touches it. You'll have to take him Rd1 but he could really be a special weapon for some teams. Or potentially make some teams impossible to cover (Balt, Minne, Buff, NYG) Yes all have that position "set" but with injuries, 2 RB sets etc he could give you fits along side a Jackson, Barkley, Cook. Just so much potential in today's game with the league getting a bit more creative each year & not shying away from trying new things.

Personally I'm not a huge fan of Michel (Nick Chubb was my binky) but Michel is easily good enough not to need to spend a 1st on an RB. I'd much rather get a stud TE. A stud OC like Tyler Biadasz, Wisc. might even make sense. Karras is a decent backup in short spurts, but not for 16 games. And if Andrews has to be on blood thinners, long term, that's probably a career ender.

I feel this years draft at RB we would be looking at more of a receiver type back, as I don’t think we would be looking at your battering ram type of back like we have in Sony and Harris.

So not sure on that front who would we be looking at? Maybe as well ST value too.
We don't need no stinking RB's. We are good, need Develin back.

I agree with you in not needing a running back. I believe that with develin back and hopefully a healthy David Andrews we get the running game back on track to where it was at the end of season into the playoffs last year. I think with Michel, white, and Harris there isn’t many snaps to go around.
