QB
1) New England. Not playing like the Brady of old, but you still feel good about him with the ball in his hands down by a field goal in the 4th quarter in a way that the others don't.
2) Buffalo. Allen's legs make him scary to defenses, but he's still way too prone to boneheaded mistakes.
3) Miami. Fitzpatrick's still got a little magic in him. At 37, you wonder if he'll be playing his completely bonkers peaks-and-valleys football into his 40s.
4) New York. Darnold has all the tools but he's still a wreck. Coaching's going to ruin him.
RB
1) New York. Bell's the best running back in the division, even if he's stuck on a bad team.
2) New England. This has nothing to do with Sony Michel and everything to do with James White, vastly underrated even by his own fans.
3) Buffalo. Singletary looks promising and Gore is still cranking out inefficient yards, but there's no real star here.
4) Miami. Who the hell is Patrick Laird?
TE
1) Buffalo. Dawson Knox has questionable hands but he's a good blocker with promising receiving ability.
2) New York. Ryan Griffin is a pretty useful player.
3) Miami. At least Mike Gesicki can catch? He can't block though.
4) New England. Couldn't see Matt Lacosse being bad coming, what with his previous career high of 15 catches or whatever.
WR
1) New England. Pretty weak unit, but the rest of the division isn't exactly covering itself in glory and the Patriots have the best receiver in the division. This rating is basically a "take the best player" and an indictment of the rest of the options rather than an endorsement of the Patriots.
2) Buffalo. John Brown's been a revelation and Beasley is a pretty good slot guy. The rest are hit-or-miss.
3) New York. Might be too low but there isn't much star power between Anderson and Crowder.
4) Miami. Higher if they hadn't traded away Kenny Stills, DeVante Parker is a mediocrity and everyone else is miserable.
OL
1) New England. Cannon hasn't played well at all, but Mason has been playing better the last few weeks, Thuney is very good, and Wynn looks like he'll be a stud.
2) Buffalo. A good run blocking unit but pretty mediocre in pass protection; not a great combination with a quarterback prone to making mistakes.
3) New York. Maybe the second worst offensive line in football...
4) Miami. ...Probably the worst offensive line in football. I think they've had a different combination in every game.
The Patriots look good in this but really it's a pretty low bar. The Bills offense isn't particularly impressive (like the Patriots, they're winning with their defense), and the Jets and Dolphins are both pretty miserable.
