Penalties being considered for the Pats - UPDATED 1/1/2020

There were tons of leaks and rumors ahead of the Deflategate penalty - remember the 8 game suspension for Brady?

Not hearing a word here and I can’t help but think this is a good thing. I think the league wants to handle this right. Seems to me from what we know that the tape does not show what we all feared it could show. That’s a good thing not just for us but for the NFL. Perhaps some of this is due to a perception out there that the Patriots run is coming to an end... who knows.

A fine is the likely outcome based on their admission. Would be nice if the league also said there was no attempt to cheat but the Pats fine was for not having a good process in place to prevent an incident like that from happening, which they clearly didn’t. Or something like that. That’s the best outcome.

Seems that the "we alls" subconsciously believe in their hearts that the Patriots are cheaters. Not I.

figuratively “we all”. :) I do not believe it either. I refuse to believe that a coach who admires and cherishes history of this game and legacy - maybe more than any other coach- would risk throwing it all away by cheating.

Not to mention (for the sake of discussion only, he wouldn't) if BB ever cheated it sure as hell wouldn't be the handi-kids in Cincinnati or the league office that would trip up Darth Hoodie. NWIH

Competent companies make mistakes all the time. GE, Auto manufacturers, Airlines, Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers etc.. etc... etc. We can't expect someone to perform at a mistake free standard because it's impossible to achieve.

And more to the point, I simply do not believe in punishing someone for something he didn't do even though he might have done it before.

Agreed, but this is Goodell, the cheating teams and the media. They've done this before. They hold the Pats to this bizarre, ultra high standard and have separate rules compared to the rest of the league.

I simply do not trust Goodell. An "investigation" is really code for "we need to discuss how we want to frame NE and make sure we don't get caught doing it"....

When the NFL wants to bury a story, they typically release the news late Friday. With the lack of leaks and buzz around this at this point of the week I’m thinking it’s a good chance we hear something tonight.

"After a thorough investigation the Patriots did not follow X procedure. The investigation has also concluded this activity will not impact the outcome of this Sunday's game. Because the NEP did not follow policy, they will be fined $100,000. The league considers this matter closed".

That is my hope knowing damn well a ****show is coming.

- 100K fine to Kraft
- public release of the Kraft Productions video
- public release of the Bengals video of the Kraft Productions tripod and team taking the video.

Public, therefore sees (and can put the tinfoil hats away) that this whole thing was a ridiculous NOTHINGBURGER. Truth and honesty is the best policy for the league - - - and for the Patriots. The only party that gains from NOT releasing everything here is the Bengals franchise - - because the facts and the videos are going to make them look like Gomer Pyle making a "Seetezennnns Arrayest!" Keeping it all under cover and out of the public's view will only aid in the imaginations of those who want to engage in Magical Thinking.

Agreed.

But, I will never really trust Goodell. He basically makes himself available during these weeks to have conferences with other owners to get a feel if the owners want to move on with a framejob or not.

Considering how embarrassing Framegate II was, and the ratings drops via the networks these last few seasons, I am leaning towards your direction, but you honestly never know with how crazy these people are.

Would love to see the Pats drop 5o on that pukey Zac Taylor loser. Not really thrilled with his arrogance in the press conferences.

The constant "no comment" is worse than what BB ever does.

LOL

What's even more ironic is apparently how bad a college degree is for someone's future.

Really? I haven't seen those reports. Do you have any you could show us? All research I've seen is that there is a huge income gap between the degreed and non-degreed.

That's just economic. It doesn't mean they are happier or more content, of course.

.

they will be hit with something based on their admission on Monday night. But yeah it looks like it’s not the massive scandal that many anticipated it would be when they heard the words “Patriots” and “videotaping”

Call into Felger and Mazz and try to say this.

Those creeps have somehow escaped a baseball bat to the knees in the parking lot at the studio around 6PM.

lmao

I was kidding.

LMAO
We have seen ample evidence Fraudger & Co no longer need care about getting 'caught' coming to their predetermined conclusions and meting out false 'justice' or whatever else they want to pass it off as. Not only are conduct detrimental decisions under this CBA bulletproof in court but Goodell can publicly get caught in outright lies in his arbitration findings and...crickets...
