The piece on scouting is absolutely fine and actually a very interesting subject. Certainly more so than equipment managers.

But maybe give the film crew a short rundown of whats allowed in a press box and whats not. Maybe don't film an entire quarter of B-roll that shows the next opponent's sidelines. All of it is preventable if people put enough time and effort into the small details.

The spy gate issue revolved around where the camera was located it was to close, (it was/is legal to tape opposing teams) if it had been in the front row of the stands it would have been legal. So using those standards set by the league it would be legal to tape from the press box

I'm just amazed at the lack of judgement by whoever supervises/assigns these bozos. Even if the rules say you only need to get permission from the home team, given NE's history with the NFL and the way NE is treated in the press, the project should have gone well beyond that and gotten permission from both teams and the NFL. And for the same reason you tell them "no filming any sideline". Go get some NFL Films stock footage if you need sideline shots. Just stupid, stupid, stupid.

It's common practice for NFL teams to develop content which provides fans an insider view of the team.

And yet it somehow Bobby Kraft's ******** that gets us in trouble.

This is the fundamental issue. The incompetence is absolutely mind boggling. Posters here have a much better sense of how to deal with any videotaping scenario the team might undertake. They should hire a fan for advice on this ****, lol.

The report was that the sideline was being taped and they saw the sideline on the monitor. At least they didn’t mention the scoreboard with key information was shown too. That would be noteworthy if it was.

That at least is encouraging and makes me lean toward this being a mistake and nothing more. Let’s hope that is proven correct when the tape is made public,

Sounds like it was 8 minutes. Didn't say game minutes or real minutes, read as real minutes. So 8 minutes out of about 180 minutes in a game. Sounds like an eye roll to me.
