Yeah, but for OSU, those top 25 teams were Michigan state, Michigan, Penn State and Wisconsin. LSU beat Alabama, Auburn, Georgia and a 2 loss Florida team. Personally, I don't think they even compare.

I know their SoS is a joke but I think Clemson’s gonna be a handful for whoever gets the 2 seed.

Those are comparable opponents SEC bias notwithstanding.

Weak SOS doesn’t make you a worse team, it just means you beat lesser opponents and are less proven against better opponents.
As far as rankings it matters, because how else do you separate undefeated teams from different conferences? But as far as playing the game it’s meaningless (other than the factor of being battle tested)

I should have left the weak SoS out of my post to avoid this kind of response. Should’ve have just said Clemson’s gonna be a handful for the 2 seed. My mistake.

No doubt.

early season “struggles” have really taken over the narrative. Don’t be suprised if they win this thing. I see this thing as big a tossup as ever.

clemson is not 2014 Florida state state

Alabama in Alabama is much more difficult than Michigan in Michigan. Wisconsin is comparable to Georgia? Don't think so. Penn State is comparable to Florida? Don't think so. Michigan state is a 6-6 team.

Don't really care about CF but agree with the above poster who said LSU should be #1. OSU might be better and might even win it but don't think the competition has been similar.

Yes, Phil, stats without context exist. Given your education and background, you know this.
They mean more than your opinion, Melvin.
Plus it’s what the committee uses.

Sos takes that into account and OSU is much higher.

Not without context, they don’t. Luckily for you Ohio State fans, the NCAA tends to not put any context behind them, either. Everyone knows you’d rather face a Big 10 slate (in which the entire conference hasn’t scored a single point in the playoff since 2014) than an SEC schedule that also incorporated Texas on the road before injuries. Stats without context are as useless as tits on a bull. If you truly don’t know that, you should sue Western New England for theft.

LSU/Clemson in the first round. Woooooo boy.

Just heard the rankings. So we will have to wait until the National Championship for that.

I mean isn’t it OSU/Clemson in the first round? 2 v 3

Phil’s pissed.

I meant if OSU was number one, that would have been a bad ass opening game. LSU is number one now... and deservedly so.

Ah I see. Agreed. Yeah that would have been an amazing opener.
