Gordon to IR

As I said head and heart weren't there for JG.

I said that same when he was signed.

Football is not important to Gordon. Gordon is important to Gordon.

Somewhere in a thread here, I told the story about seeing Gordon arriving at the Patriots' players entrance at 6:35 for a night game. I was tailgating there and he created quite a stir coming in that late. No other player came in that late. In fact, in all the years I've been going to games, that was probably the second time I saw a player arrive at all.

Which game was that?

.

so, now it starts to get out that Gordon was late to meetings and his head didn't seem to be in the game. makes sense with the quick shift from him stretching on the field earlier in the day and being IR'd later

the problem with Gordon is, its usually not just "tardiness" when he starts to show up late. You would think the patriots saw these signs last year before he took his "hiatus" which is why they cut bait now. A chance to possibly get some cap $$ for another trade

Curran also states that "harry is faster, harry is more athletic" which seems to hint to me they like what they see in practice

This means Gordon will be subject to waivers.

I am not totally up-to-date on whether shortterm IR takes away any possibility to trade players. Generally the rules have changed a year ago or so thanks to Elway and you can trade players on IR.

Which is interesting for teams that still have both their designations available to them.

But hopefully someone early on the waiver wire will claim him. Pray for JG that it is not Washington.

Josh Gordon has not been producing and is not able to run away from defenders anymore

Yeah, he looked slow this year. He was still a beast with the ball in his hands though. I thought another talented receiver would open things up for him. Oh well, time to move on.

Thanks for your honest take and not living in the was.

It was the Green Bay Sunday night game. 8:20 kickoff and Gordon waltzed through the player lot at 6:35. It was very weird.

I guess I'm off the JG bandwagon. I want him to beat his demons and recapture some of his football potential. To do that will take a lot of self discipline. If he can't even muster the meager self discipline it takes to show up on time then there is not much hope for the rest. Next man up.

A pattern of apathetic behavior.

A few years ago, after having all off season to get ready, Gordon announced that he would not be attending the Browns opening day of training camp. IIRC, he did not play the first snap that season. Goes to NE and proceeds to quit directly before his first chance at playing in the post season. Despite letting the team down, the Pats gave him a 2nd chance and supported him 100%. What more could you ask for?

The thanks the Pats get was Gordon showing up late. Something that BB will not tolerate.

He is approximately 18 months shy of 30 years old.

Time is running out and then the money will run out.

OK, that was last year. And while, yes, odd and noteworthy, I was wondering if it was something more recent that would have caused the separation from the team this week.

.

This season has featured some of the oddest roster decisions in the Belichick era.

We couldn’t wait three weeks for Gordon to heal up?

The WR position is thin enough as it is. He had to IR him to keep a JAG like Tomlinson on the roster? Why?

because he isn't good.

Or because he wasn't even good before that and is not reliable at all.
That’s completely false, considering he’s the second most productive wide receiver that Brady has had in the last two seasons, but hey, carry on with your baseless hate if it helps you justify this odd decision...
