Michael Bennett TRADED TO DALLAS!!!!

Snatched off PS by Ravens

Meh. If the Pats thought that highly of him and considered him to potentially be a part of their future, they would have given him the open spot on the 53, after the Bennett trade. When they didn’t activate him from the PS he went for a better chance at playing time. I suspect that they will that spot open for Harry next week.

I don’t believe that intel from former players makes any difference, especially vs the Pats, who switch things up so much week to week but it is not a coincidence that Harbough and DeCosta picked up two Pats players one day after they signed Bethel.

I really hate that organization as well as their delusional fan base. I want the Pats to win that game more than any other regular season game this year, even the Chiefs game. Make Jackson beat you in the air (easier said than done to keep him in check in the ground) and I am confident that he will start giving the ball back to you. I don’t buy into the notion that Jackson is a true franchise QB. Teams will either figure him out or his style of play will lead to injuries. When is the last time that a running QB won a SB? Wilson may be the closest but he is really a passing QB who can run.

Teams absolutely look for intel. Chances are Richards could probably provide more intel then him...pretty much the only thing Richards can provide from a defensive standpoint.

Quick side note, let's please keep this post on topic. I've removed several posts since obviously this thread is to discuss Bennett's departure, so let's try and keep it that way.

I usually support merging threads. This time I respectfully disagree

You had no way of knowing we were transitioning from Bend don’t break to 85 Bears. Not your fault.

This is probably the most turbulent 7-0 team in NFL history, and I'm not sure how Belichick can keep this team focused.

Bennet was never a Patriot

Two quotes capture this season, so far. #metoo
The second is tongue in cheek but...
Every year at some point I think, this is BBs greatest
coaching job yet.

This year, we wont know until BB's bio, but
it could have trended like 2009.
Quietly nuked. We're on to Cincinatti.

This team looks more and more like the character of 03-04
Daydreaming of challenging the 23 game win streak

You know, to keep Brady here
Heh

I'm shocked that this got so many confuseds!

2nd Edit: Did it work this time? For clarity, this GIF is a reaction to:
A) Michael Bennett being traded.
B) PatJew's disdain of the confused reaction being met with a slew of confused reactions.
C) My inability to make a relatively straightforward post without it becoming a total trainwreck.

I apologize for said trainwreck. Anyways, disappointed to see his talent go but the writing was on the wall, especially with his comments yesterday and the shift in our defensive scheme. And with how well our defense is vibing right now, the last thing we needed was a toxic presence.

I think it was 21.

And they now have 12 straight........

Not to get too far ahead of things, but the last game of the season against the Dolphins would be #21 if they get that far - - it would also mark the second time of 16-0 (so those Dolphins game tickets might actually be worth something after all)....... and the first game of the playoffs would be the record breaker.

But not counting those chickens yet.

They went 2-2 in 03, losing to Buf 31-0 and losing to Wash when Daniel Graham dropped a 4th down conversion late. then they won 12 reg season games- 3 playoff games and went 6-0 in 2004 ( 21 wins in total) before losing to Pittsburgh (?)won 6 in a row, lost a weird one to the Dolphins and won 2 reg and 3 post season games. They won the opener in 2005 before losing ...

They were 33-2 over 35 games... That to me is more impressive...

Nothing was merged ... same thread with updated title.
Hope your well my friend ... always good to see you here.
Keep scratching ...

I have no issue trading him. But the Cowboys visit in four weeks. This is where I don't get trading him there.

He will try to blow up a play or two free lancing leaving the edge exposed.

Good luck with that. Especially with this current defense, that intel is virtually useless. They can become different things series to series, not just game to game. Belichick has downplayed the significance of that intel (in both directions) on multiple occasions during interviews in the past.

Ravens Reddit is hilarious right now. They honestly look at this as some type of chess match between the two teams and, even more comically, feel that the ravens are coming out on top right now with their 2 for 1 player advantage. If it is, it is a one-way chess match.

Please heavenly father, inflict minor injuries on their starting safeties, so that we may face Richards week 9. Amen.

They should've been able to get more for him imo. But it was probably best for the team.

He is going to have a good year in Dallas I think.

Worse analogy EVER.

DT played with a rookie QB shell shocked by one of the best Ds in the league. Even with all that, he got a couple of DPI calls and several catches. Nothing DT could've done would have made a difference.

Bennett will be facing an OL that has at times struggled because of injuries. MB doesn't have a QB to rely on, just his experience and brute strength to wreak havoc on #12. He could also demand double teaming that may allow an open man sack on the GOAT. There is no doubt Bennet will be extra motivated to bring it. Potential damage could be season ending.

So yea, analogy sucks. Apples and oranges.

o_O That's a bit dire. That Pats will find ways to neutralize him.
